Here in the North Country it was the Flowering Time New Moon. The sisters, Snowy Owl and Shooting Star, decided to go to the meadow before going to the Star Temple. They did not know why but felt drawn to that place. They had learned to listen to their inner knowing. As they entered the open space wildflowers of all colours had blossomed. And the meadow was filled with Butterflies. As the young women delighted at the beautiful sight they held out their hands and a Butterfly landed on each of their outstretched arms. They felt blessed.

The sisters stayed in the meadow soaking in the beauty until Grandfather Sun set in the west creating streaks of red, pinks, and scarlet. Then they climbed the path to the Star Temple to hear Sister Moon’s message for this New Moon cycle that was beginning. As they settled in the Sacred Space the dark night was quiet and they were surrounded by the stillness. Sister Moon began to speak “The last two Moon cycles you have been letting go of who you are not. Butterfly reminds you now is the time to emerge from the cocoon and allow your true self to shine. It is not about who you think you are it is about BEING who you are and allowing that Essence Self to be your guide on the next part of your journey. Butterfly is the Sacred Totem for this New Moon cycle. Transformation is the gift. When you let go of who you are not you are free.”

New Moon in Gemini

In astrology Gemini is the sign of the twins. In mythologies one twin is mortal (your human self) and the other is immortal (your Divine Self). This Moon cycle is the opportunity to integrate the two selves and become whole. The Tarot Constellation that is activated with this New Moon is The Lovers, relationship and choice. It is the choice to unite in love (Gemini) or the choice to separate in fear (Capricorn). (Who Are You in The Tarot by Mary K Greer).

This New Moon is at 12 degrees Gemini 34 minutes. Our planetary guide is Mercury at 27 degrees Gemini 19 minutes.  Since Mercury is in his home sign thoughts, ideas, and perceptions of reality are on the agenda for this Moon cycle. Mercury is also “out of bounds” (beyond the authority of the Sun) so we are being supported to “think outside the box”. Mercury is sextile (easy opportunities) the asteroid Vesta at 27 degrees Aries 30 minutes. She is the Temple Priestess who is guardian of the Sacred Flame and our commitment to our Spiritual Purpose.  In Aries she inspires us to choose the new path. She is trine (removal of obstacles) Jupiter Rx at 20 degrees Sagittarius 23 minutes. Jupiter Rx reminds us to redefine our spiritual vision so we experience the guidance of our Higher Self as we grow and expand.

As always the Universe allows us to stay stuck if that is what we are CHOOSING.  As mentioned above Capricorn is also on the Tarot of The Lovers. Its theme is the choice to separate in fear. Since April we have had a Capricorn trio dancing together. South Node (releasing the past) Saturn (limitation and restriction) and Pluto (transformation of society) have been closely aligned. At this New Moon asteroid Vesta is square Pluto and Saturn/South Node. The square is motivation for change and finding new ways of doing things.  Add to that Mercury is in opposition to Jupiter in Sagittarius creating a tug of war between our logical thinking and our spiritual consciousness. But the Soul Centered ruler of this Gemini New Moon cycle is Venus at 23 degrees Taurus 07 minutes (valuing ourselves and what is of true importance in our lives). She is trine (ease and flow) the Capricorn trio (letting go of the limitation of past patterns) and she is sextile (new opportunities you create for yourself) the North Node at 17 degrees Cancer 57 minutes and the asteroid Juno at 21 degrees Cancer 23 minutes. The message is it is time to be your true self as you move forward. Vesta in Aries echoes this as she is also square Juno (relationship) and Pluto (release and transformation). We are all being asked to finally let go of who we are not and become our Authentic Soul Self.

Our Animal Totem guide for this Gemini Moon cycle is Deer, sensitivity, compassion, and love. Deer also calls us to new adventures. For the Earth in Sagittarius (grounded spirituality) our guides are Elk, support of community and people of like mind, and Owl, the wisdom to walk the true path. They are reversed for the Southern Hemisphere. For all of us the Clan Mother who guides us is StoryTeller. She teaches us to Speak the Truth with love and kindness and live our new story. More of her Medicine gifts can be found in The 13 Original Clan Mothers by Jamie Sams.

Here is a message from Butterfly our Sacred Guide for this New Moon cycle. It is from Animal Totems and the Gemstone Kingdom by Margaret Ann Lembo.

You are blessed with autonomy.

Recognize and integrate that you are free from external control or influences.

This independence opens a whole new chapter with unlimited potential.

This transformation will give you the freedom you have been seeking.

Transform and transmute the old, and allow yourself to open to a new start.

Express joy and happiness as you spread your wings.

Namaste and blessings,

Dale
