Mars visits Taurus- Mar 09- 7.34 pm EST to Apr 21- 6.32 am EDT-
As I write this it is Mar 08. Here in the northern hemisphere as the Sun visits Pisces (Feb 18 to Mar 20) we are in The Big Winds Time. Today in Ontario we are experiencing winds gusting up to 80-100 kilometres an hour and in my town it is recycling and garbage day. So bins are being picked up by the wind and scattered far and wide. A blue bin belonging to a neighbour half a block away ended up in my front yard. I watched it travel across the street even stopping now and then and blocking traffic. No one stopped to put it on the sidewalk but drove around it instead. It really bothered me. I do not know these neighbours personally but put on my boots and coat, retrieved the blue bin, and returned it to the house. It reminded me to practice “random acts of kindness” more consciously even if no one knows. I think that will be one of the themes for Mars in Taurus.
Taurus is practical, security oriented, and dependable. It is the sign of loyalty. It rules the Throat Chakra, speaking our truth. It also influences our sense of self-worth and feelings of empowerment. Taurus is the sign of accumulation on the material plane. It loves “stuff”. If we do not feel worthy we might fill our lives with “stuff” to compensate for that feeling of lack. Mars is the planet that motivates us to take action. But in Taurus he is cautious and can lead to stubbornness. Along with “random acts of kindness” Mars supports us to “clean out our closets” both materially, emotionally, and spiritually.
His planetary ruler while Mars is in Taurus is Venus currently retrograde in Aries. She also is asking us to reflect on what is of value and importance in our lives. Does what you surround yourself with enhance your life? Are you ready to let go of what no longer serves to make space for inspired new beginnings that Venus promises when she moves forward again Apr 15. She will be in Pisces at that time and asks us to look at how our spiritual values are in alignment with our Soul Purpose. So while Mars is in Taurus his ruler Venus is in Aries/Pisces. Beginnings (Aries) and endings (Pisces). Endings lead to new beginnings.
Our Animal Totem guide for Mars in Taurus is Beaver (northern hemisphere). Beaver teaches us to recognize when our life has become too cluttered, release the old, and make space for new abundance to manifest. Also Snake, shedding the old, is the guide for the southern hemisphere while Mars visits Taurus. Snake teaches us to embrace transformation and re-birth. Wherever you are the Clan Mother for this Mars journey is Listening Woman. She teaches us how to enter the Stillness and hear our heart’s wise voice. She teaches us how to hear the truth. (The 13 Original Clan Mothers by Jamie Sams).
Mars in Taurus is active on the Tarot Constellation of the Hierophant. It is about dancing to the tune of your own drum to become the Wise Teacher. We are working with the 4th Ray of Harmony through Conflict or through Beauty. It will be interesting to see what the world chooses. Our Archangel guides are Gabriel, resurrection, and Hope, renewal.
Taurus is closely connected to The Buddha. He taught the Path of Loving Kindness. Be that kindness and change the world. Not just while Mars is in Taurus but always.
