Mercury visits Libra- Oct 07- 3.56 am EDT to Oct 24- 4.46 pm EDT
Mercury is the planet that influences our thoughts, perceptions, and our communication style. He is also responsible for travel by automobile and trade and transportation. On Oct 06 he has just completed his most recent retrograde journey in the sign of Virgo. He entered Virgo on July 30, entered his retrograde shadow on Aug 10, went retrograde on Aug 30 at 29 degrees Virgo and moved direct on Sept 22 at 14 degrees Virgo. Now he is back to 29 degrees Virgo on Oct 06/07. That is a long stay.
Virgo is responsible for systems, analyzing, evaluating, and paying attention to details. This has been a challenging Mercury journey for many of us. Here in Ontario (Toronto area) traffic has been horrendous with many accidents and delays. Mercury rules travel by automobile. One interesting situation concerned school buses. Children were left standing at their bus stops because there were not enough bus drivers to cover all the routes. Someone should have told the bus companies about Mercury’s trickster energy when he is retrograde. He also interfered with e-mail correspondence and one day I had no internet connection. Lots of fun!!!
So I think we are all glad that Mercury is out of his shadow. But the gift during a Mercury retrograde is to look deeply within and identify what is still in need of healing. This was especially true during his backward journey in Virgo. Spiritually she is the sign of mind, body, spirit healing and integration. We have been calling Virgo the Rainbow Bridge of Healing into Wholeness. Even though Mercury has left Virgo the Solar Eclipse (New Moon) on Sept 01 was in Virgo so carries the energy of the Rainbow Bridge until Feb 2017. So if you have not crossed yet there is still time. I believe it does not matter how long it takes to heal, it matters that you begin the journey.
Now that Mercury is visiting Libra the focus is on partnership and balance. Libra is the mediator and negotiator. The planet of the mind is supporting us all to find peace and harmony in all our relations. The only issue is Libra can have a difficult time making decisions because it can see both sides of the situation. The shadow Libra carries is to make the other person make the decision and then not be happy with the result. It is called the blame-game. So be aware during Mercury’s visit here and own your power to make choices that are good for you, especially in relationship.
Mercury carries the signature of will and focused consciousness. Libra is found on the Tarot Constellation of the High Priestess, balanced judgment through intuitive awareness. So remember to make decisions guided by your intuitive knowing. Our Animal Totem guides for this Mercury in Libra journey are Crow, sacred law and fairness for all, and Raven, the magic of the Mysteries. Libra usually does not like going into the Mysteries but the planetary ruler for this Mercury journey is Venus. She is currently in Scorpio (until Oct 18) so looking into the mystery of who you really are is being supported. On Oct 18 Venus enters Sagittarius supporting us to explore and expand spiritual consciousness. Our Clan Mother guide for Libra (The 13 Original Clan Mothers by Jamie Sams) is Weaves The Web. She is the Mother of creativity and the manifester of dreams. She teaches us how to Work with Truth.
On Oct 11 Mercury will join Jupiter in Libra (manifesting your relationship vision) and will square Mars in Capricorn on the 13th (finding new ways of communicating). He will sextile Saturn in Sagittarius on Oct 14 (strengthening your spiritual foundation) and square Pluto in Capricorn on the 15th (transformation and release). On Oct 20 Mercury will oppose Uranus and Eris in Aries (breaking free from conflict and breaking through to authenticity). So the next 10 days are very active (there are of course other planetary configurations as well). I just wanted to give you an idea of the opportunities Mercury in Libra is gifting us with.
ॐ Namasté - Blessings!
