In our last blog post, How Do You Express the Light of God?, we talked about an elderly lady who, despite her age and infirmity, nonetheless radiated a powerful, loving energy all about her.

This week we’re talking about another person who radiated that same loving energy all his life.

Spirit

You all chose the details of this and your other lifetimes. Your spirit — that greater, grander part of you — chose your ethnic background, your parents, your siblings, your geographic location, your physical characteristics, etc. You chose it all.

We realize many of you wonder why you made some of the choices you now consider undesirable. Your spirit, in its infinite wisdom, knew every detail it chose was perfect for this lifetime.

Even if you came into physical incarnation with what you would consider disabilities — for example, a defective heart — from your spirit’s perspective it was for the highest and best good of all involved.

One of John’s older cousins was born with a “defective” heart. His doctors predicted he would not live more than five or six years. But he proved them wrong.

He had a slender frame. Some would say he was frail, and he certainly appeared that way. According to the medical people, he would never reach beyond the physical or mental maturity of a child of nine or ten.

He was the most loving, kind, and warm-hearted young man. Despite his “disability,” he was almost always happy. He was a great inspiration to many in John’s large Italian family. They cared for him in a way some of them rarely cared for anyone else.

In his disability, he inspired and uplifted the family and his many friends. He love telling jokes. He loved cooking. Despite his frail appearance, he was a powerful runner who could outrun and outlast most adults.

He lived to be 61, and died peacefully at home.

Now, would you say that life, with its physical frailties, was a failure? Definitely not. It was a great success because it inspired love and compassion in some of the family who sorely needed more of both in their lives.

Until you know (though you can’t ever really know) the spirit’s intent for a particular life, you cannot judge that life or that person.

You are all beautiful, just as you are. Let your light shine.

In the early 1980s John took a spiritual development course, and was introduced to his first spirit guide, Lydia. After Lydia arrived, three other guides also came to him: Archangel Michael, Tamarra, and Chief Joseph. Today these are John’s four main guides.

Besides his four main ones, John has various other guides. The entire group is really a multidimensional collective consciousness. John refers to the entire group simply as “Spirit.”
