For centuries, humans have looked to the heavens for guidance. Astrology is, put simply, the study of the correlation between the astronomical positions of the planets and events on earth. Astrologers believe that the positions of the Sun, Moon, and planets at the time of a person's birth have a direct influence on that person's character. These positions are thought to affect a person's destiny, although many Astrologers feel that free will plays a large role in any individual's life.
The Chinese Zodiac consists of a 12-year cycle, each year of which is named after a different animal that imparts distinct characteristics to its year. Many Chinese believe that the year of a person's birth is the primary factor in determining that person's personality traits, physical and mental attributes and degree of success and happiness throughout his or her lifetime. It also shows your compatibility with people of the other signs.

Native Americans throughout time have held sacred, the connection between nature, animal, and man. Native American astrology is based upon your birth animal totem, which is the animal spirit that you are born under. A birth totem is similar to an astrological sign of the zodiac. Your birth totem can tell you many things about your personality, your attitudes, your abilities and your short comings. These totems are often referred to as solar totems because they encompass many aspects of the "solar" system. From seasonal relationships to moon phases. But a birth totem is not the same thing as a spiritual totem or having a particular animal as a spirit guide. Those relationships are purely spiritual in nature. The animal acts as a teacher along your path specifically for spiritual understanding and growth.
As a birth totem, these aspects of the "birthing sign" are much more than just spiritual symbolism set along the road to help us understand a certain situation in our life. These aspects tell us about who we are, why we probably look at things in a certain way and react to situations or people using particular responses. We are more in tune with the characteristics of these aspects, almost as if we are a mirror of those traits and qualities. We can therefore use their strengths to help us over come our weaknesses. In other words, like other astrology systems the world over, Native American astrology can give you insight into who you are, who someone else is, and how the two of you would interact.
Animal birth totems play an intrinsic part in Native American astrology. Roughly equating to the western astrology sun signs that we are all familiar with they make for an interesting alternative to the more conventional. The signs are far from being just symbolic though. They effectively form a route map for life.
The zodiac is divided into 12 signs, each 30 degrees long. The
cycle of zodiac signs starts with Aries, which begins at the spot on
the ecliptic where the Sun is on the first day of spring. These 30
degree sections of the sky are actually blocks of space, not time.
Zodiac signs are often confused in the popular mind with "sun signs".
When a person says, "I'm an Aries!", what they're really saying is they
were born at a time of the year when the Sun is in the zodiac sign of
Aries. Because our calendar is designed to mimic the motions of the Sun
around the zodiac, the Sun is in Aries at nearly the same time period
each year (roughly March 20th or 21st to April 19th or 20th). Hence the
12 sun signs are like months of a calendar based on the zodiac. They
represent time, not space.
The motions of the other planets through the zodiac signs can
be quite irregular, compared to the Sun's motion. On average, they
range from the fast moving Moon (which spends about 2-1/2 days in each
sign) to the slow poke Pluto (roughly 12 to 24 years in each sign).

Astrology and horoscopes are used by millions today as a way of predicting the future and future trends in relation to the planetary alignment and its effect on the goings on in the lives of those born under specific starsigns. Here below I will use the Tarot to give a different and more direct perspective to that of Horoscope Astrology into the lives of individuals born under those signs. In itself, the Tarot is a reliable forecasting tool, using archetypal symbols to help us to understand ourselves and our roles in the world and this can be used either individually to forecast the fortunes of a particular individual or, with surprising accuracy to forecast the fortunes within a group.
My Tarotscopes, to be published here on a weekly basis will provide a reading of the energy surrounding your zodiac Sun Sign, detailing your Focus, Romance, Career as well as the overall outlook relating to the energy around you. This will be more direct and pertinent to you as an individual than the usual astrological horoscope and within the environment indicated by the cards, as shown in the Tarotscope, I will show you considerable freedom to move and make decisions, according to the choices and circumstances which are open to you. The Tarot will direct you to take a certain direction, or to make a particular decision, but will not compel you to act in any sort of helpless or robotic manner. Beyond the forces of the conditioned world, our behaviour is governed by our awareness, our intent and our stage of personal spiritual, physical, emotional and cognitive growth and with this in mind, any form of divination should be used as a guide with full awareness being given to the consequences of any actions taken. In the end the final decision in relation to any action that is to be undertaken by you must be yours and the responsibility for the consequences of such actions lies squarely with you as you individually must live with those. I hope that you will enjoy my weekly forecast and look forward to your comments.
