Here in the North Country even though spring was not far away it was very cold. As Snowy Owl and Shooting Star climbed the path to the Star Temple they wrapped their parkas tightly around them. The sisters loved doing the moon ceremonies but they wished for Grandfather Sun’s warmth to return. This had been a long cold winter.

When they reached the Star Temple the Winged One who was Snowy Owl’s Totem guide was waiting for them. The sisters knew that meant they were going on a journey. Little Owl with the heart shaped face said “Go now and put on your feather capes and fly with me.” The young women retrieved their magic capes from the Standing One who guarded them and soon were following Little Owl into the dark night. He was leading them in the west direction to the other side of Turtle Island.

When they arrived at their destination Little Owl guided them to land on a cliff overlooking the ocean. Immediately it felt much warmer and the sisters were thankful for that. Then they realized their friends Runs With The Salmon and Red Thunderbird Warrior were waiting for them. The foursome knew the message from Sister Moon would be important. As they waited for her to speak the songs of the Whale and Dolphin Tribes could be heard coming from the ocean. The friends listened to the wonderful sounds and felt their hearts open to the beautiful songs.

Sister Moon spoke from the darkness “The Whale Nation are the Record Keepers. They hold the ancient knowledge of those who have gone before you. The two-leggeds have forgotten how to sing their personal song and at this New Moon the Whale Tribe is asking each of you to remember who you really are and sing that song.” Sister Moon continued “The Dolphin Nation are the guardians of the breath of life. They too are asking you to breathe into life your song. Dolphin is also saying it is time to remember who you really are and be that true self.”

Sister Moon fell silent but the songs of Whale and Dolphin continued through the night. Each of the four friends could feel their own personal song beginning to sound.

The Animal Totems for this Pisces New Moon are Cougar, coming into your spiritual power, and Wolf, the teacher who guides us through change. But Whale and Dolphin are the Sacred Animals for Pisces. This mutable water sign is linked to the ocean and the mystical world that lives in it. Both Whale and Dolphin connect us to the Akashic Records where everything that has ever existed is recorded including our past life memories.

The theme for this Pisces New Moon is retreat, healing, forgiveness, completion and release. The Sun and Moon at 10 degrees Pisces are travelling with Chiron at 13 degrees Pisces. The forgiveness aspect comes into play with this conjunction. There are three faces of Chiron, the Wounded Healer. The first two are to forgive those who have wounded us and forgive ourselves for wounded others. When we do that personal healing we become the Wounded Healer who truly understands how to help and support others on their journey to their true song.

The traditional ruler for Pisces is Jupiter currently retrograde at 10 degrees of Cancer. Jupiter in Cancer asks us to follow our Spiritual Vision. He is in a T Square (yes another T square which we also experienced at the Leo Full Moon). Jupiter is opposite Pluto in Capricorn (Soul Purpose) at 13 degrees Capricorn and they are both square Uranus at 10 degrees Aries (the authentic self). But Jupiter is trine (ease and harmony) the New Moon and Pluto is sextile (ease and opportunity) the Sun and Moon so if we focus on being our true self we are being supported by the planetary dance. Pluto in Capricorn (Soul Purpose) is also the Soul Centered ruler of Pisces.

The modern ruler of Pisces is Neptune (the mystical) currently at 05 degrees Pisces so also conjunct (integration) the Sun and Moon. Neptune rules the sea and the land. He is responsible for any water related issues (like flooding) petroleum (oil) and fog (confusion). He also rules drugs, alcohol, and addictions. Neptune shows us what we are trying to escape from. But he also rules the poet, dancer, musician, film-maker, the arts and the Mystical. This Moon cycle is the perfect time to focus on your creative expression. Just remember Neptune always asks what is true, what is not true, what can never be true.

The Clan Mother for this Pisces New Moon (the 13 Original Clan Mothers by Jamie Sams) is Weighs The Truth, the guardian of Sacred Law, justice and equality for all. She teaches us to accept the truth within. She also is the destroyer of deception.

Pisces is active on two of the seven Rays. The 6^th Ray of Idealism and Devotion, with Archangels Uriel, peace, harmony and love, and Aurora Grace, devotion and grace. This is in my opinion the most difficult Ray to master as idealism and devotion can turn into dogma and the need to control. The other Ray that this New Moon activates is the 2^nd Ray of Divine Love and Wisdom with Archangels Jophiel, creative power and spiritual vision, and Constance Christine, wisdom and illumination.

I do believe this will be a challenging Moon Cycle especially for relationship. Mars in Libra turns Retrograde- Mar 01- 11.23am EST- Mars will be retrograde until May 19.  The focus will be on relationship transformation. Saturn too will retrograde on Mar 02 at 11.20am EST until July 20. The focus will be on releasing what no longer serves you and embracing personal transformation. That same day at 3.03pm EST Mars and Venus, the relationship planets, enter their First Quarter Phase. The theme is make a decision, take action, and breakthrough or break free. Prepare for breakthrough and breaking free until July 20/21.
