How to Feel Good: This Post Will Change The Way You Make Decisions

We can drive ourselves crazy trying to plan, decide, analyze, and apply logic to every situation. The rational brain that takes up pretty much all the space in our lives is saying “I will get to the right answer or ‘thing’ if only I push hard enough.” You’re laughing because you know what I’m talking about, don’t you?
The Magic Question You Need to Ask
Through much trial, error, and misery, I learned a very important question that brings total clarity to all challenging situations
(if you really listen to the answer of course):
What feels good?
This is the opposite of questions like “What is right?” “What should I do?” “What makes most sense?”
Why It’s Essential
Using this question, “What feels good?” is a way of separating your decision from all of your past limiting beliefs, “I should’s,” and logical calculations you are convinced get you to the “right” place. It helps you find what feels good to you — right now — the only time that matters. It eliminates judgments about how you’ve done things in the past and that part of your brain that wants to hang onto that same pattern.
The reason this question is essential is because when something feels good, it means we are in alignment with it (mind, body, and soul); and it is guaranteed to yield a much more positive outcome than anything you do from a place of “should.” It is undeniable that things you feel good about and do from that place, are more successful and fulfilling.
Feeling the Difference
- What job feels good ? vs What job should I take?
- What medical treatment feels good to me? vs. What medical treatment is working for my friends that I’d be stupid not to try too?
- What way of asking for help feels good? vs. How can I ask for help to manipulate what I want?
- What timing to move feels good? vs. What works perfectly with my schedule?
- What answer feels good for someone asking me to do something? vs. What answer will leave me with less guilt?
Ahhh, can you feel how much better the first suggestions are?
If Nothing Feels Good or It’s Hard to Identify
Reach for relief. This is a word that comes up often in the Teachings of Abraham books. And there is good reason for it. Sometimes we are in such a place where nothing feels good. But, focusing on what would feel “better” or bring “relief” will get you to the next step. Let the feeling better or relief be your path to getting to the “good.”
