For Giving

For Giving

For Giving

For the heartbreak
of ages of eons
of multitudes,
I give gentleness,
kindness,
grace.

For the wounds
of the past, present,
I give the strength
to heal.

For the darkness
that takes, shapes shift,
I give incandescence.

For perceptions
of power-over
me/we,
I give pardon,
liberation.

For vicious cycles
suffered throughout
time and space, I give
the peace to transform,
course-correct, into
luminous, virtuous
spirals.

For the struggle,
I give my
letting
go.

For veils so thick
we stumble aimlessly,
I give my acceptance,
forbearance.

For the malevolence
oft seen of the universe,
I give the second sight
of benevolence.

For death,
I give an open
mind, heart,
hand.

For the grip
of abject despair,
I give release.

For lack and
all that it wants,
I give plenty—
abundantly.

For now,
with all it holds,
portends,
I give
‘yes.'

For loss
and its welter of grief,
I give tenderness.

For the rage
loosed in me,
in us, I give depths
of understanding.

For the unrelenting
change that is existence,
I give my alignment,
right of way.

For the blindness
we must see into, through,
beyond, I give my
full spectrum.

For deafness
that shatters, colonizes,
incubates, gags,
silences,
I give

…Beethoven.

Nina Simone
(you know what I mean).

Rilke.
Rothko
Van Gogh.
Martin Luther King.

For neglect,
I give cherishing.

For the ache
of shame,
I give
softness,
relief.

For
the right
and the wrong,
the inner and outer,
the core and the chorus,
I give balance.

For the manifold
uncertainty roiling
the lands and waters,
I give consciousness
expanding,
rising.

For the abuse
and abused,
I give solace
and care.

For the distress
hidden and plain,
I give comfort, ease,
tolerance —
vision.

For the child inside
that feels lost, vulnerable,
I give sanctuary,
beholding.

For systems failure
catalyzing sustainability,
unity, opportunity—evolution
of life on our mother earth,
I give my trust, my faith,
my fortitude.

For the fragility
of this small identity,
I give time, space
to grow wings.

For smokescreens
blurring lines/truths,
I give fresh air.

For dark nights
of humankind’s soul,
I give sweet dreams
dawning.

For the trauma
we’ve survived, witnessed,
encountered to get to here,
I give balm, harbor,
wellbeing.

For oppression
suffered at the hand of
racism, classism, sexism, ageism,
chauvinism, fascism, materialism, nihilism,
narcissism, barbarism, cynicism, consumerism,
separatism, militarism, intellectualism,
egotism, capitalism, exceptionalism,
jingoism, despotism, infantilism...
I give my abiding solidarity.

For the persistent
insistence of fear—its
roots, seeds and thickets,
I give the olive branch
of compassion,
clarity,
truce.

For the shadow
unfolding its dense
form(s) before our eyes,
I give my prayer for
the highest good
to shine through.

For the illusion
of control whose gravity
we are coming to lift
above, I give
flight.

For the debt
accrued learning
how not to be of this world,
I give my absolution.

For the karmic purge
seeking to break free,
I give an open door,
a violet flame, a
fond farewell.

For the hard thing
that stretches me out of
my complacency, ignorance,
smallness and habituation,
I give my green light
(and pin number).

For the maze we must
experience—master—to get
to the still center of our peace,
I give my life, my being,
my art and essence,
my everything.

For the wizard whose curtain
we must pull to find what we’ve had,
known, all along: our humanity, integrity,
our way home, I give my innocence,
my beautiful balloon.

For the magic
we are called to make of
the mundane, the mendacity,
the matter, the mystery,
the madness,
I give my wand.

For the narrative
that insists itself on
our psyche as tragedy,
I give my full attention
— imagination —
to a new writing, a
transcendent telling
of the story.

For the comfort zone
that eschews discomfort,
I give courage, grit

…and spandex.

For the glacier
that makes the mountain,
and the river that undoes it,
I give my head,
 bowed.

For the stars
that shoot out of the dark earth
to offer their petals, enchantments,
again and again and again,
I give my rapt delight.

For taking
advantage,
for granted,
sides, part
or not
I give
mercy.

For taking
more than was
ever mine to take,
I give my truest
love...

freeing
itself of
ego and
expectation
and lifetimes
of conditioning.

For any resistance
to any of this giving,
I pledge my gentle
pardon and
surrender.

For ever,
I give my
presence,
patience,
allowance,
thankfulness
and abiding
goodwill.

For
myself,
you, us,
them,

All that is,
as it is.

I am
giving
this, my
vow.

Eve Moore: Once a professional writer of advertising, I saw the light & it has shown me words of a different nature. And so I take them down & offer them up. And all is well.

“When the power of love overcomes the love of power, the world will know peace.”
