- Begins A 200 Year Cycle of Aquarian Energy! -

At 9:04 pm PST December 16, 5:04 am GMT on December 17, Saturn resumes its transit of Aquarius. This will profoundly affect all of us wherever we have Capricorn or Aquarius planets, as well as the houses with those signs on the cusp. As Saturn continues to be in one of its home signs, we can now use the structures we’ve built during 2019-2020 while it was in Capricorn in larger ways which serve our construction of a more perfect ideal.

This chapter opens a larger vision of a long term greater good for humanity. Those who have planets in Aquarius will be experiencing a profound restructuring and/or maturation in those “inner Lights” over the next two years. Whereas we got our “dress rehearsal” for this time in April, May, and June, now it’s time to hit the stage for our 2 year run!

2020 truly marked a delineating line between past and future. Saturn gave us a brief look at the promise of the coming Saturn in Aquarius era in the Spring, and then retrograded back into Capricorn to finish up those individual, mental, and spiritual group issues. We now have completed our Capricorn restructuring, and rapidly approach the Grand Mutation happening of the conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius, initiating a new 20 and 200 year era with the focus on Aquarius energy!

Saturn's Lessons Structure our Understanding Built Across Time

This is the next step in the larger lessons of self-discipline for humanity. From 2009 through 2012, we embraced “venerable standards” to live by, “escaped from a narrow destiny,” and found new perspectives and a new set of archetypes that called us. We then experienced the binding pressure of Saturn in Scorpio (2012-2015) which gave way to an open view of larger possibilities when Saturn was in Sagittarius (2015-2017). We began to organize and shape our vision into forms of effective personal power during Saturn in Capricorn (2018-2020) which will yield powerful progressive group and social structures in years to come in 2021-2022.

Saturn in Scorpio was great for teaching us how to deal with corrosive or stuck emotional energy, and Saturn in Sagittarius called us to a more mature understanding of truth, as well as more effective means of communicating that truth. Saturn in Capricorn called us to a more effective personal self-expression of our ability to take responsibility and show self-discipline in our public work, and now Saturn in Aquarius calls us to a greater vision of how we can contribute to a more ideal world on our way to Spiritual Adulthood!

The initial venture of Saturn into Aquarius in the Spring went only to the second degree where it went retrograde at 2 Aquarius in May. That stationary degree was extremely powerful, with the theme of “a cosmic visitation which will galvanize us to action,” liberating us “from adverse conditions” through full on mobilization to deal with something which threatens us. Seems appropriate given the global pandemic we’re dealing with!

The Next 200 Year Era Began in April 2020

April gave us a glimpse of many different factors about to take place. Mars conjuncted Saturn at 1 Aquarius, setting future oriented Aquarius energies into their initial pulses. April also brought us the square from Mars in early Aquarius to Uranus in early Taurus, followed by the Sun in early Taurus squaring Saturn in early Aquarius, anticipating the extraordinarily volatile period around the January 20 Inauguration Day when the squares between Jupiter and Saturn in Aquarius and Mars and Uranus in Taurus will be repeated.

So let’s all welcome Saturn’s entry into its home sign of Aquarius! If you have a planet in Aquarius, even at the end of the sign, you’ll begin to vibrate to the new Saturn energy visiting that planet. Because of the sign shift, the planets now disposed by Saturn in the earth sign of Capricorn will shift their energies and begin to exhibit more of the air qualities of Aquarius. This will accelerate in a big way when Jupiter enters Aquarius on December 19, conjuncts Saturn at 1 Aquarius on December 21, and sets the next set of long wave cycles into motion!

Face the future with optimism and foresight, since these will help us learn dominion over our view, our philosophy, and our wider understanding. Open to a larger view of interrelated factors in all things. Those who have a mature spiritual view will find the events of coming months confirming their efforts in 2020 to become the author of their own larger destiny. Many will break free of old binding spiritual attitudes and find a freer dance in a greater reality.

While the coming period of Saturn in early Aquarius will have a nonstop hard edge to it, the antidotes will be to maintain positive Leo and Scorpio responses. The answer to rigidity is flexibility. The answer to immovability is to fly around it. Air moves easily, earth does not. Aquarius is complex and has a wide view. Taurus does not. As the tensions continue, learn to maintain your heart, your enthusiasm, your inner child, and your creativity. Keep your Spiritual Warrior at your side, do not fear the passages, and focus your mind and feelings on your spiritual intention.

Saturn in Aquarius begins an adventure in crystallizing the structures of future oriented visions, institutions, and groups dedicated to a greater good for the greatest number. We are moving into an era requiring selfless service in a great cooperative ideal, leaving behind the selfishness and fear of past years. We ARE the “future in the making,” and nothing succeeds like persistence, patience, and a sense of one’s own authorship within the larger visions and efforts of our times.

Aquarius! Humanitarian, friendly, inclusive, independent, universal, progressive, unconventional, pioneering, self-sufficient, freedom loving, egalitarian, scientific, altruistic, visionary and unconventional. Now being expressed by our “Spiritual Master, Spiritual Friend.” Welcome the restructuring already underway in your Aquarius sector, and by Spring you will find yourself on a shortcut accelerating your evolution in ways you cannot currently imagine!

Saturn: Spiritual Master, Spiritual Friend

Because Saturn is again in its home sign of Aquarius, it is the final dispositor of all planets transiting Capricorn and Aquarius from now through 2023. As Jupiter moves from Capricorn to Aquarius, Saturn continues to play a very prominent role for all of 2020 and 2021! Remember that though Saturn can feel heavy, it also symbolizes the power we have to take command of our lives and destiny by using Saturn’s virtues in the right way and time. In Aquarius, we should all feel a bit lighter and brighter, even if it’s a bit rocky due to the aspects.

Saturn restructures the planets it conjuncts. That means all of us with Aquarius planets will find tremendous power in expressing those parts of ourselves in new ways. Do not fear Saturn transits, since they replace fear with understanding, and inadequate responses with those which show our spiritual awareness and maturity.

Saturn has been preparing us for a “role of destiny” which has been unfolding between January 2020 and now. We’ve been rehearsing new roles for the future as part of the Saturn-Uranus “dance of individualization” in our lives, learned to navigate some extremely irrational and volatile situations, and now are about to use our foundation of “returning to ancient sources of Being” to move into the final phase of a “new quality of being which renders the old patterns obsolete” awakened in 2019.

In Capricorn it taught us how to construct an “organized personal structure” to the Uranian energies making our spiritual life come alive. As these two powerhouses are in dynamic tension in 2021, any planets we have in the first half of Aquarius (and Taurus, Leo, and Scorpio!) will also be challenged to mature and become more a part of a greater whole. I devote several chapters to how Saturn affects our planets by conjunction, square, and opposition in part two of the book. While oppositions can be difficult, they also produce profound awareness. While squares can be annoying, they provide us the means to put the brakes on old momentum, and turn necessary life corners.
