AUGUST 2019

RUNE OF THE MONTH: Ehwaz “movement, progress”. If we have felt stagnant, this a great month to break the routine and actively go forward. A good time to move, change jobs, create a new career, engage in self-improvement activities and embellish our home. Outgrown patterns or relationships are likely to be shaken up, opening new horizons that help us breathe more freely. As we shine our light with generosity, we are able to face the future with confidence.

Jupiter turns direct on August 11 at 14º30’ Sagittarius. Its shadow period extends until November 6th. This degree is represented in the Sabian Symbols by: “The ground hog looking for its shadow on Ground-Hog Day, February 2nd”. For the past 4 months, we reflected on our life, asked ourselves profound questions, sought more knowledge. We are now ready to enter a new chapter in our journey marked by deeper wisdom, more clarity, renewed faith and heightened self-confidence.

Uranus turns retrograde on August 11 and will remain so until January 11, 2020. Its shadow period will last until April 27, 2020. The degree covered in August (6º37’ – 6º28’ Taurus) is represented by: “The woman of Samaria at the ancestral well”. This retrogration helps us free ourselves from the past, prejudices and self-imposed limitations so that we may express our own uniqueness. Our values are changing, as is our relationship to money. Learning about the laws of abundance, helps us create what we need. Our renewed and purified relationship to Mother Nature feeds our soul in magical ways.

Saturn remains retrograde this whole month until September 18 between 15º36’ and 14º10’ Capricorn. Its shadow period lasts until December 24. The images associated with these degrees are: “School grounds filled with boys and girls in gymnasium suits” and “In a hospital, the children’s ward is filled with toys”. No matter the restrictions that are imposed upon us, the challenges we experience, the duties or obligations we have, if we intend on doing the best with what we have, focus on happiness and remain light, wonderful opportunities will arise from what looked like obstacles. A month to find inner wisdom and in the face of adversity, remain philosophical.

Neptune remains retrograde this whole month until November 27. Its shadow period will last until March 17, 2020. The images representing the degrees covered in August (18º18’ -17º35’ Pisces) are: “A master instructing his disciple” and “In a gigantic tent, villagers witness a spectacular performance”. As the veil between dimensions thins, the clarity of our connection to our higher self develops. We are able to access purer states of consciousness, develop our psychic abilities further and remember more of our inner truth.

Pluto remains retrograde this whole month until October 3. Its shadow period continues until January 24, 2020. The degrees traveled in August (21º28’ – 20º53’ Capricorn) are represented by the following images: “By accepting defeat gracefully, a General reveals nobility of character” and “A relay race”. Cooperation with others, surrendering our ego and our pride, standing in our power with humility, help us understand and live more deeply the oneness of all that is.

This month’s intentional meditation starts on Thursday 8/15. Take out as many blank sheets of paper as you will have intentions and placed them near a window, on a balcony or in a garden so that they will bask in the light of the Full Moon in Aquarius at exactly 5:29 AM. Once that moment had passed, gather your Full Moon charged blank sheets and place them in a folder.

On Friday 8/30 on the New Moon in Virgo, take out your blank full moon charged papers and write on each a concise, positive intention. Place them on a balcony, in a garden or near a window so that they are out by exactly 3:37 AM. Once that moment has passed, staple them together and put them away in a folder expecting the manifestation of all your dreams…

Friday 8/2: Venus Square Uranus (2:59 AM)

A socially exciting day if we don’t become too erratic or crazy. Engaging in any impulsive behavior could cut us off from the people we love the most. If we are able to exercise self-control, this can be a very stimulating day with unexpected, positive surprises.

Wednesday 8/7: Sun Trine Jupiter (0:31 AM)

A very pleasant day. We exude self-confidence, are poised and dignified and have faith in life. Our positive energy and elegance are most attractive to others. Positive opportunities abound today. Leisure time spent with loved ones is most beneficial.

Thursday 8/8: Venus Trine Jupiter (1:27 PM)

A very good day for social activities, artistic projects and feeling the warmth, approval and support of loved ones. Very good also for making money. As long as we don’t behave as if our funds were unlimited and are generous with those less favored than ourselves, our abundance has every chance of expanding.

Sunday 8/11: Jupiter turns direct (6:38 AM), Mercury enters Leo (12:45 PM till August 29), Uranus turns retrograde (7:26 PM)

Regarding Jupiter turning direct and Uranus turning retrograde, kindly refer to the opening paragraphs. During the next 3 weeks, our need to express ourselves more glamorously, to be more self-expressive and creative is enhanced. We seek the limelight and are more exuberant and warmer than usual in our interactions with others. Wonderful for planning an elegant event or attending an artistic performance.

Tuesday 8/13: Sun Conjunct Venus (11:07 PM)

A very pleasant day.  Our social life is smooth and peaceful. We are interested in beautifying our home and are focused on happiness. Excellent for any artistic project and mutually beneficial interactions with others.

Friday 8/16: Mercury Square Uranus (10:06 AM)

A day of unexpected and somewhat disturbing changes. People could be eccentric, erratic, cutting and cold. Words are likely to be hurtful. Plans are wrecked by strange circumstances. On the positive side, we could receive unusual information, be swept away by exciting news that free us from our daily routine and feel more independent than normal.

Saturday 8/17: Mars enters Virgo (10:19 PM till October 3)

During the next month and a half, Virgo natives are favored. A wonderful time to start a fast or a fitness program that is designed quite logically and requires persistence as well as attention to details. Perfect also for a good “spring” cleaning. Getting rid of all that no longer serves us is a positive use of this transit.

Wednesday 8/21: Venus enters Virgo (2:07 AM till September 14), Mercury Trine Jupiter (3:05 AM)

During the next 3 weeks, we are more concerned with our intellectual connection with another than by just his/her good looks. In our relationships, we could feel more critical than usual. Works of art are precise and detailed. Social contacts are entered for the purpose of learning. Today, more specifically, we feel particularly confident, trusting and optimistic. Our positive energy opens many valuable doors. We should however beware of not promising more than we can deliver and be somewhat cautious of those who come with grandiose projects that seem too good to be true. A great day to start an exciting long-distance trip that will open our minds and hearts to another culture.

Friday 8/23: The Sun enters Virgo (3:02 AM till September 23rd)

During the next month, we are very concerned with health, exercise and nutrition as well as developing our mind with intelligence. We could be more grounded, discriminative and hard-working than usual. Wonderful for work requiring attention to details and/or for starting a new area of study.

Saturday 8/24: Venus Conjunct Mars (10:04 AM)

A day of balance between the masculine and the feminine. We are more likely to make efforts to keep our relationships harmonious and peaceful. Extra care could go into dressing nicely. Keeping things light prevents impulsive fights.

Monday 8/26: Venus Trine Uranus (8:37 AM)

We feel particularly sociable today. A relationship begun today is exciting and freeing but may not be very long lasting unless we leave each other a lot of space and freedom and remain very independent from each other. Our esthetic tastes could be eclectic and unusual. We are drawn to unique individuals who walk to the sound of their own drummer.

Wednesday 8/28: Mars Trine Uranus (3:51 AM)

If we had been looking for change, today is the day! Unusual activities are exciting and freeing. We feel particularly active and dynamic. We welcome unexpected occurrences with delight and embrace newness with a daring and constructive spirit.

Thursday 8/29: Mercury enters Virgo (0:48 AM till October 3rd), Sun Trine Uranus (8:13 PM)

During the next month, our mind is attentive to details, very organized and structured. We are not afraid of the hard work necessary to learn what will enable us to do our job well. We seek the company of people we admire the intelligence of. Great for clearing our desk of backlogged work and reorganizing our office. Today, more specifically, we should expect the unexpected. Plans may be disrupted, unusual events may take place, interesting new, highly individualistic and independent people could show up in our lives. The more we remain open, present to the present and flexible, the more valuable this day will be for our future.
