Which means that Jupiter is making its first pass into the span of 6-16 Taurus, where it will go retrograde in early September. Lots of threshold action ahead!
The shadow zone is defined by the span between where a planet goes retrograde, and where it goes direct after the retrograde period. In this case, Jupiter goes retrograde at 16 Taurus on September 4. It will retrograde back to 6 Taurus, where it goes stationary direct on December 30.
That puts the shadow zone between 6 and 16 Taurus, the exact same span as the recent Mercury retrograde in April and May. So this year Jupiter’s shadow zone takes us through the social, emotional, and cultural levels and individual, mental, and spiritual levels of the Scene of “Substantiation” into the first degree of the material-actional level of “Confirmation” where it goes stationary retrograde, the exact degree where Mercury went retrograde in April.
During this run of Jupiter from 6 to 16 Taurus, it’s in an exceptionally favorable and productive sextile and quintile with Saturn, showing a great connection between our expanding field of operation and our ability to understand the flow and boundaries to things. Obviously, transits through Cancer and Virgo will be favorable to Jupiter, while transits through Leo and Scorpio will challenge “right action” and “right realization” respectively.
Because it’s in the sector of the zodiac where we experience a greater enjoyment of life and a comfortable growth track on our own terms as we choose them, the rest of this year and early next year is good for seeing how to enjoy the momentum we have, leaving things we no longer need to enjoy life as we want to. Between now and early July, as well as November through mid-February, if you were born the last week of April, July, October, or January figure out how you want to represent yourself to your world, learn how to keep the momentum in your own hands, and be willing to embrace an expanded life and effectiveness. In July, August, September and October, this will apply to those born the first week of May, August, November, and February.
During its stay in Taurus, Jupiter is ruled by Venus. Venus was in Cancer when Jupiter first entered Taurus in late May, and then entered Leo on June 5. Venus remains in Leo through mid-October, so that will be the primary backdrop energy to Jupiter these next few months. Of course, Venus is direct in June and July, and retrograde in late July through early September. Those phases will show us two angles on the same span of experience. I gave you a lot of information about Venus in Leo in the article published Monday, so please give it a new look.
Enjoy the entrance into the main phase of this year’s Jupiter lessons. This is an important time to be a good bridge builder as we “return to source” to see the knowledge and skill we’ll need in the future. There’s hope, dedication, and a dance with Nature to be embraced as a prelude to self-mobilization and a “return to simpler joys for pleasure and revitalization.”
Brave the storm in August and September, after which you’ll review all the themes I just mentioned. Just remember that the old answers can’t confirm the new conditions, and old approaches and methods won’t accomplish the goal, so be open to trying new ideas, new approaches, and new understanding of how to make real what we’ll need in 2024.
