- Emerging into a Radically Changed New Life -

Mercury goes direct in motion at 8:49 pm PDT March 9, 3:49 am GMT March 10, and speeds up for the next 10 weeks. This shows a quickening of the ability to coordinate, put things together, understand the whole and the parts, the process and the larger cycles. It is now stationary at 29 Aquarius, affecting that area in our lives for 3 months to come.

Mercury, or Hermes, "the Guide of Souls," is also known as the Divine Trickster, as well as all lesser models. What does Mercury going stationary direct at 29 Aquarius? Perhaps it would be useful to take a look back on what the last Mercury direct station brought us since mid-November 2019.

You will recall that the last time Mercury went stationary direct in November it was at 12 Scorpio, indicating we’ve been in a time of taking a more diplomatic or ambassadorial approach to relationships. We’ve been learning a more refined way of interacting with others, and practicing a higher expression of our individuality, whether of mind or Spirit.

This is the first direct station in Air since late 2015, and the first in a series which will last through early 2022. This retrograde period began at 13 Pisces, helping us review how skillfully we’ve been able to get out of our own way and allow Spirit to use us to demonstrate some higher form of Divine Will or Law. This has required us to review how feelings pervade the collective atmosphere, and get focused to achieve some higher intention while saying goodbye to all which would impede our dedication to a new life.

We’ve taken a look back at what we could and couldn’t hold on to in the past, or how we were motivated by compassion to bring an end to something. From here we move forward into a new expression of Pisces and Aquarius energy in our lives.

We’ve now re-traced ground that we first saw via Mercury’s first pass from February 2 through 16, and re-examined via the RX from then to now. Of major importance will be when Mercury goes back over 13 Pisces on March 30, when it moves into unknown zones, carrying all its RX lessons forward until its June 2020 RX.

Now we face 4 months of being guided to our Soul using the qualities of 29 Aquarius. How we use those realizations to coordinate the qualities of that degree into our lives over the next 4 months will show us a different way of shaping our minds to become more receptive to current and future new qualities of Being. Interestingly, 29 Aquarius was the degree of the Superior Conjunction of February 2018, so the coming months will in some way bring echoes of the first half of 2018.

Reflect on recent redirection of energies leading you to a new sense of being an agent for Spirit, or a vehicle for getting focused through allowing your Divine Will to operate in a specific way, perhaps on behalf of others. We’ve been finding new ways of understanding collective issues and feelings, and new ways of expression the power of compassion and the strength of empathy. From here we “graduate into a new realm of Being,” learning how to manage our individual spirituality which is emerging from its “cocoon” after a period of germination as per the Sabian Symbol of the SD degree.

We should all start seeing, hearing, and understanding things that point the way to some Mercurial fulfillment related to how we have been and continue to be guided to our Soul. Given that it falls at 29 Aquarius, it has qualities of the emerging global awareness related to the coming 500 year era wherever this SD degree falls in our charts.

The Sabian Symbol for Mercury’s Direct Station

The Sabian symbol for the 29th degree of Aquarius is "Butterfly emerging from chrysalis.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols he published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this degree is one of “Immortality of the real self,” “graduation into a new realm of being,” and “confident projection of self; lack of self-confidence.”

In The Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree symbolizes “the capacity to utterly transform the character of one’s consciousness by radically altering the structural patterns of everyday living and the types of relationships one enters upon.” He goes on to state this is about “nothing short of a complete renewal of all the implications of being alive as a human individual will do.”

He says this symbol shows us the “potential ability of every human being to participate in a higher realm of evolution after his or her emergence from a critical state of transition.” He gives us the keyword Metamorphosis, as well as “Initiation” in a spiritual sense where we can enter a higher realm of conscious existence. He offers that this degree falls in the Span of Perspective, Act of Capitalization, and Scene of Management on the Individual-Mental level.

Dr. Jones says this is a degree of our “insatiable appetite for experience” of “intellectual self-assurance,” and of an eagerness “for a complete or effective grasp of all possible knowledge.” This will show us “a continually self-renewing purity” of our mind that shows us how “nature herself springs from her overall potential as spontaneously as (our) ideas come forth from the formless matrix of (our) inner being.”

He offers us the keyword EMANATION. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree “is uncompromising faith in the promise of existence itself and in the wonders of a continuing creation.”

This degree involves entering into a new realm in the Aquarius, Gemini, and Virgo areas of our chart, experiencing a radical transformation of some sort. That means the theme of the coming weeks involves some metamorphosis, which will express as a form of self-renewal where the sky’s the limit!

Again, this was the degree of “the fusion of Life and Mind” in early 2018, giving us a forward look at what’s about to happen over the next few weeks. You can bet what’s coming is new, different, revolutionary, and transformative. Given the aspects, this one is specializing and spiritually focused on a greater vision and greater contribution we each can make collectively for a greater good for a greater number. Welcome to the future as it’s beginning right now!

We’ll close today with a reminder that although Mercury is now direct and won’t be retrograde again until mid-June 2020, the retrograde we’ve just experienced will affect the coming months until the next Mercury stationary retrograde at 15 Cancer. At that point we’ll have a look back at how we’ve “materialized the spiritual” in our lives since early 2015, and begin a search for knowledge which can ensure us “wealth and/or power” in the future.
