An interesting dynamic comes into play as this weekend begins. As Venus, the planet we most associate with love, beauty, and relationship, moves from Pisces to Aries, our approach to partnership and romance becomes more outgoing, upbeat, and open. After a few weeks in Pisces when we were more inclined towards a flowing, easygoing attitude, we begin to consider what it is we really want and need as individuals.
Gone are the vague, wistful thoughts about romance, and gone also is any tendency to feel hopeless and lost in our personal relationships. Venus in Pisces can encourage greater compassion for all beings, but it can come at the cost of faith in our individual ability to have a good relationship. Venus in Aries is willing to give it a try - and willing to try someone or something new.
On the other side of the equation, Juno, the asteroid we associate with established partnerships, moves from flexible Gemini (where she was perhaps willing to entertain at least the idea of two partners) into more conservative and traditional Cancer.
Just as Venus in Aries is ready to break new ground, Juno in Cancer wants to stay with the tried and true. Venus in Aries can prioritize excitement, sex, and spontaneity, while Juno in Cancer is more inclined to focus on emotional stability.
These two goddesses are ‘of two minds’, and we may find that so are we. Conflicts like this are common in the skies, and they are common in our lives. Depending on your chart, you may find that one or the other of these two approaches to relationship resonates more clearly than the other. Or it may be that both sides speak to you equally - now one has more appeal, then the other.
Whatever comes up, sit with it for a bit and appreciate what it is telling you. You’re a complex person with complementary and conflicting wants, needs, feelings, and thoughts - as we all are. Experience Venus in Aries, try out Juno in Cancer. Repeat. We become more whole not by choosing and rejecting but by accepting and assimilating the various sides of ourselves.
