While I’m writing the second installment ever of this newsletter, Mars in Pisces is piercing the heart of Neptune like an arrow. The Moon, waning, is close nearby and will perfect her Last Quarter tomorrow. If you’re anything like me, you’re basking in this energy like a fish in its element, drifting wherever the currents take you, knowing that, eventually, you’ll arrive somewhere.

We’re still riding the wave of the Eclipse season. Still, with Mercury slowing to a crawl and the Moon slowly descending into darkness in preparation for the next Eclipse / New Moon in Cancer on June 21, there is a sense of ‘where do we go from here’ in the air. June 4’s Sagittarius Full Moon has shone a bedazzling beacon of truth on a mission whose time has come — which is mostly about us, white people, realizing that we are the ones tasked with removing the blinders of our privilege and dismantling the toxic systems built by our ancestors rather than simply sympathizing with the oppressed like this has nothing to do with us. We have muted our social media accounts. We have marched. We have donated. We have signed. Now what?

Today and tomorrow (Saturday 13), the gentle ebb and flow of the Moon, Mars and Neptune in Pisces will set the pace. No need to rush or to fight against the tide — we are the tide at this point in time, every single surge, every dream, every breath in unison. Boundless compassion is the destination. Holding the vision of the enhanced range of possibilities that is slowly seeping into our reality is the answer.

If the current, hazy Piscean spell is not your cup of tea, the weekend will see the Mars/Neptune conjunction separating, and the Moon transitioning from Pisces to Aries. In my time zone, GMT+2, this will occur late at night on Saturday. The Moon in Aries brings a rush of combative, resolute energy, signaling a shift towards a more rash, responsive kind of mood that will certainly motivate us to get things done and tie up the loose ends in preparation for the next Eclipse.

On Sunday 14, la Luna will cross the pathway of Chiron in Aries, setting hearts and minds aflame. If your temper is particularly volatile and/or easily triggered (Mars in Aries opposite Moon in Libra here, so I count myself in), make sure you pick your battles on this day.

On Monday, June 15, with the Moon still in Aries, the Sun in Gemini will form a quincunx to Retrograde Pluto in Capricorn; the same aspect will involve the Sun and Retrograde Jupiter the next day, Tuesday June 16, when the Moon will enter Taurus early in the morning. Jupiter and Pluto are basically functioning in synergy at this point. You might experience vague, indistinct survival fears undermining your power and sense of self; if so, sitting with these feelings and listening closely to their message will yield a much constructive result than giving in to knee-jerk reactions. Meanwhile, the Taurus Moon will probably awaken a desire for stability and tangible landmarks in our inner landscapes.

On Wednesday, June 17, the Taurus Moon collides with Uranus, activating our personal and collective experience of this 7-year transit. We might find ourselves contemplating the ways in which the current events are further revolutionizing our values, instigating a reflection on the ways we invest our resources.

On Thursday, June 18, we have Mercury turning Retrograde in Cancer, and the Moon entering Gemini later in the same day, forming a trine to retrograde Saturn in Aquarius. A process of sorting out our feelings, devising strategies for emotional self-regulation that allow us to get involved in the current struggle for liberation without compromising our emotional health but also without letting our fragility keep us from expanding our understanding begins.

Quite appropriately, the card I pulled for the next 7 days is The Moon. This card reminds us that the scenery painted by the Moon’s palette of silver and shadow is not necessarily representative of what can be seen in the light of day. Come next weekend, we’ll have six retrograde planets in the sky, blending with the shaky energy of the Eclipse season. A major part of our reality is currently in flux: nothing is permanent; everything is shifting continuously as our awareness unfurls. We’d do well to keep this in mind before we attempt to make any decision that might affect us long-term.
