The October 2020 Full Moon at 10 Libra-Aries Pt. 2

The October 2020 Full Moon at 10 Libra-Aries Pt. 2

- Sabian Symbols Showing the Light of Relief from
Tension Expressed In A New Symbolic Understanding -

This Full Moon is the seventh one since the Great Mutation waveform was activated at the end of March. As we are in the heart of nonstop Mars squares to Jupiter, Pluto, and Saturn, stay balanced and figure out how to make your life secure against quick and immediate flare ups. Play good defense, and remember your purpose for doing what you do.

Remember that we had several extraordinarily important long wave conjunctions in January which were set into motion in March. All the conjunction points made by Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in January and March were activated by Mars in March, and its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius set structures into play which will be needed in the 200 era to come beginning with the Great Mutation of December 2020.

That “Great Compression” of planets created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting the houses where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. An ongoing transit boosting those conjunction effects to an extreme degree can be found in Jupiter conjuncting Pluto all year, expanding Plutonic seeds at different points.

Given Jupiter’s retrograde span, for the past 4 months it has opened many futures related to the Capricorn conjunctions of January and March 2020 when it moved in direct motion over those conjunction and then went retrograde over those same points. Now it’s direct, and is about to move over all of them again. If you’re wondering how this Great Compression and those to come will impact us, please check out the linked articles on the bottom of Part 1 of this series published previously.

We are now between the Cardinal T-squares made by Libra transits opposed to Mars and square to the Capricorn stellium. As Mercury is going to oppose Uranus as the Sun opposes Mars and Venus opposes Neptune, we are in the hearts of many weeks of dealing with “The Tension of Opposites” across many different sign axes. That's why it's important to learn balance, as well as how to play good defense, because that's the exact quality we'll need in October and November!

As the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, we now can take the energies of the “being led out into transcendent activity” we’ve been experiencing since the New Moon and now can re-focus through a Libra-Aries lens. We now have experienced the practical value of keeping things simple, pleasant, and on track, and are now in a time of finding a difference perspective on the dramas.

Saturn continues to be incredibly important in its home sign of Capricorn. It is on its station, a degree of the world Soul, so stay open to your part in the greater life all around you. Now that it’s in direct motion, we begin our final approach to a new Aquarian era as we finish up the transition period of “cosmic visitations galvanizing us to action” which are “liberating us from adverse conditions.”

The Sun in Air and the Moon in Fire shows a time of the Cardinal Air (associative interactivity) of Libra expressing its refined ideal view through the Cardinal Fire (Inspiration) of Aries. At this time, 4 planets are in the first third of their signs, 2 planets are in the second third of their signs, and 4 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a balance between the actional-material field and individual, mental, and spiritual field, with less focus on the social/emotional field.

Why Are Full Moons So Important?

At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.

That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.

Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. As there are two forming oppositions in this Full Moon, it puts the evolutionary “Tension of Opposites” at work wherever we have 8-12 Libra and Aries, and 4-11 Scorpio and Taurus. We’re now in the season of non-stop oppositions, since the inner planets have finished their opposition to the Capricorn planets, and have begun to oppose Neptune, Mars and Uranus.

Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?

The Sun is in Libra, making Venus in Leo its worldly ruler and TransPluto in Virgo its spiritual ruler. The Moon in Aries has its worldly ruler Mars in Aries and its spiritual ruler Pluto in Capricorn. So Venus and Mars share power this month.

Venus in Leo is ruled by the Sun, which is in a sign ruled by Venus. This puts them in “Mutual Reception,” a very powerful “closed loop” of self-reinforcing, self-referencing energies. Mercury in Scorpio is ruled by Mars in its home sign of Aries. Therefore Venus and Saturn are in mutual reception, the Moon and Mercury are ruled by Mars, which rules itself. Jupiter in Capricorn is ruled by Saturn; Saturn rules itself, Uranus is ruled by Venus and therefore the mutual reception; Neptune, as usual, is a “standalone” planet, and Pluto in Capricorn is ruled by Saturn.

That means the rulerships are spread out this month between Venus, the Sun, Mars, and Saturn, with Neptune ruling itself. A final dispositor is a planet in one of its “home signs,” or the signs it rules. We now have at least three final dispositors through January. I gave you an extensive explanation of this time in the recent article Astrology in Summer and Autumn 2020 – A Competition of Final Dispositors

By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. You can find out more about dispositors in general, chains of dispositors, and mutual reception by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?

The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon

This Full Moon falls at 10 Libra and 10 Aries. It is said that the first third (decan) of any sign deals with the actional, material, and physical levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the first decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Libra and Aries.

Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.

The Solar degree symbol for the 10th degree of Libra is "A canoe approaching safety through dangerous waters." In the original Jones class notes Dane Rudhyar published in The Astrology of Personality, he states this degree is about "a sure destiny" through being rewarded for our sincerity and daring in reaching out to a greater life. We also are told it is a degree of "reliance upon skill and circumstances."

In The Astrological Mandala, Rudhyar comments that this phase is where we find "the self-control and poise necessary to reach a steady state of inner stability." Here we can find relief through an inner revelation on a past "dramatic confrontation" that calms our mind. He states the degree is in the Span of Expectation, and the Social-Cultural level of Transfiguration.

Dr. Jones says this degree where the risks we have taken validate our experience and refine our skills in everyday life. Here we can find forms of genius through "a fresh and constant participation in life's transient situations" that enable us to develop our powers.

He offers us the keyword COMPETENCY, and says that when operating in a positive manner, it's said to be a degree of "conscious and skilled resort to the course of action which leads most surely to success." He gives us the formula as Manipulating, Critical, Ingenious, Specializing, Social and Inspired.

So this is a degree of rewards for relying on skill and courage as we navigate life’s rapids, and can find an inner revelation related to the risks we’ve taken up to now. The is the light of “life’s trangencies,” helping us develop our competency and skills.

The Lunar degree symbol for the 10th degree of Aries is “A man teaching new forms for old symbols.” According to Rudhyar’s notes from the Marc Jones class, this degree is one of “Deep understanding, beyond normal means,” “abstract seership, integrating the inner and the outer,” and “interpretive gift.”

In The Astrological Mandala he states this degree is one of “revision of attitude at the beginning of a new cycle of experience,” involving “the problem of focusing one’s energies upon emotional drives and cultural values which exclude far more than they include.” This symbol is where we “reformulate at a new level much that had been taken for granted because it indeed originally had been an evolutionary necessity.”

He continues by stating “the very concrete emotional-arousing images of the past can now be reinterpreted as ‘symbols’ with a wider scope of meaning.” He says this is a stage where “a new dimension of consciousness is discovered, revealing higher possibilities of experience and mental development,” and is a stage of Abstraction. This symbol is said to be in the Span of Realization, Act of Differentiation, and the last degree of the Emotional-Cultural level of the Scene of Desire.

Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this degree symbolizes ”the continuous and necessary rectification of understanding through direct and everyday experience,” where “every factor of inner realization” is brought into “immediate and personal significance.” He states “here the wisdom of the race is revivified and made available for all through its recurrent and continual validation in human affairs.”

He continues that here many are served by those who can dramatize “each special phase of a total reality.” He offers us the keyword of INTERPRETATION, and states that when this degree works positively, it is “an exceptional capacity for putting every part of an individual’s heritage to work.” We are told it’s “manipulating, critical, original, specializing, and social-inspired.”

From these symbols it seems the next two weeks will bring us all the Light of relief, ingenuity, skill, and the rewards of our being daring before now, expressed in a time of seeing new meaning in old experiences, and abstracting that knowing into a more holistic view of what we’re going through. This is the Light of a balanced view expressing as a need to revision our understanding. Here the Light of “right relationships” can be expressed in a form of greater social power allowing us to complete a form of healing specific to 2020, thanks to 10 Aries being Chiron’s stationary retrograde degree.

TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption

I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back. If you want to know more about the vast spiritual field coaxing us toward a great redemption of the promise of Life itself, please take a new look at TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption We continue to have invisible helpers at our disposal giving us "divine help when human efforts seem to fail," as well as inner strength.

*********

At the last World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)

In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,

The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on Earth

From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to Earth

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serve

From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.

See you soon with part 3 covering aspects, planetary sequencing, and other important factors in this Full Moon.
