RUNE OF THE MONTH: Inguz “Renewal”. What a wonderful and apt way of starting a new year! New year, new beginnings. The chance to start over with good resolutions and reinvent ourselves!

Two eclipses this month. Eclipses always mark major evolutionary steps beyond which life will never be the same. Their collective influence is determined by the sign they fall in. Their personal influence is based on where (in which house) they occur in our personal birth chart. Their effects can be felt for up to 19 years.

Saturday 1/5, Solar Eclipse in Capricorn (15º25’) at 5:28 PM. This degree is represented in the Sabian Symbols by: “School grounds filled with boys and girls in gymnasium suits”. Our body is the vehicle of our soul. This eclipse urges us to listen to its wisdom. Our physical self is a good measure of where we are at. Its pains and sufferings signal places of imbalance in need of rectification. Healing occurs when we see and feel ourselves in whole(holy)ness. This eclipse is also helping us follow our bliss that we may find our perfect job and there also, become the masters of our own destiny.

Sunday 1/20, Lunar Eclipse in Leo (0:52’) at 9:16 PM. This degree is symbolized by: “Blood rushes to a man’s head as his vital energies are mobilized under the spur of ambition”. Circumstance in our lives may shift, structures may change, an old order may come to an abrupt end. Those dissolving situations are forcing us redefine our priorities and create new dynamics in our lives. As we do, we can dream new dreams that revitalize us. This eclipse can help us either find a work that inspires us, or bring inspiration to our existing position. As healing comes to our heart, our physical self is also supported in returning to divine perfection. Relationships are warmer. We feel more generous. A deep interest in a foreign culture could encourage us to travel to a country that opens our heart further and enriches us spiritually.

Uranus turns direct on Sunday January 6 at 28º36’ Aries. Its shadow period remains until April 22^nd. The image associated with this degree is: “The music of the Spheres”. In the past few months, we have been asked to free ourselves from conditionings, family and educational influences, so that we may individuate. As we stand in our own power, we are also able to connect to the magic of the universe and tap into higher realms of consciousness.

This month’s intentional meditation started on Saturday 12/22 at 9:49 AM when we took out as many blank sheets of paper as you will have intentions and placed them near a window, on a balcony or in a garden so that they would bask in the light of the Full Moon in Gemini. Once that moment had passed, we gathered our Full Moon charged blank sheets and placed them in a folder.

On Saturday 1/5 on the New Moon in Capricorn (Solar Eclipse) take out your blank full moon charged papers and write on each a concise, positive intention. Place them on a balcony, in a garden or near a window so that they are out by exactly 5:28 PM. Once that moment has passed, staple them together and put them away in a folder expecting the manifestation of all your dreams…

Next month’s intentional meditation, begins on Sunday 1/20. Take out as many blank sheets of papers as you will have.  intentions and place them near a window, on a balcony, or in a garden so that they bask in the light of the Full Moon in Leo (Lunar Eclipse) at exactly 9:16 PM. Tuesday 1/1: Sun conjunct Saturn (9:49 PM)

A day of serious thoughts and actions. We may be more cautious and measured in our speech and prefer aloneness to being with others. An excellent day to fulfill our duties and responsibilities. Older, more mature people are likely to acknowledge our practical efforts. We are concerned with long term ambitions and are willing to work hard to achieve them.

Thursday 1/3: Mercury Trine Uranus (9:12 PM)

A day to expect the unexpected. Plans may change suddenly. It is best to remain flexible and not make any binding decision. We may be surprised by people dropping out of our lives, while others we haven’t heard from in a long time, re-emerge, enabling us to reassess how much we have evolved in the past years. We are drawn to unusual characters walking to the sound of their own drummer as well as to futuristic ideas. A day to go with the flow and be present to the present.

During the next month, we feel warmer, more generous and adventurous in love than usual. A love interest from another state or country could enter our life for both our spiritual and emotional enrichment. We may also fall in love with another culture.  

Tuesday 1/8: Mercury Square Mars (2:05 AM)

Not a good day to get in a fight or deal with potentially angry or violent people. Tempers could flare up and become quickly out of control. We should also be careful while driving. Red lights or stop signs could be disrespected very easily. Best to channel our energy into a project requiring enthusiasm and physical energy.

Friday 1/11: Sun Conjunct Pluto (3:36 AM)

Our leadership abilities and our charisma exert a strong influence on our environment. We may find that some people oppose a passive resistance to our power, but if we remain strong and fair, we can inspire many and get a lot accomplished today.

Monday 1/14: Mercury Sextile Neptune (5:14 AM)

Mental confusion, as well as miscommunications could occur today. Not so good for signing legally binding documents nor for dealing with anything requiring attention to details. A day best spent day-dreaming, watching a positive movie or reading an inspiring book. Artists and healers could channel beautiful messages.

Friday 1/18: Venus Trine Mars (8:50 AM), Mercury Conjunct Pluto (12:01 PM), Sun Square Uranus (5:30 PM)

The masculine and the feminine are balanced today, leading to harmonious relationships and interesting social encounters. We are able to X-ray situations and people, calling a spade a spade. Important however to stay very present to the moment as unusual circumstances could occur that disrupt our plans and project us in a completely different reality, revealing things that were previously hidden.

Monday 1/21: Mars Square Saturn (3:48 AM)

Stress, heavy unfair responsibilities or an injustice could feel particularly limiting today. We could be rejected for no valid reason. The world could feel like a cold, cruel place. Important to use self-discipline to curb the need to lash back impulsively.

Tuesday 1/22: Venus Conjunct Jupiter (4:26 AM)

A good day to throw or attend a party. An act of random kindness could brighten our day. We could get a promotion and feel more generous than usual with those we cherish. A love relationship begun today is spiritually and intellectually enriching. Wonderful for a  long distance journey that confronts us to a new culture.

Wednesday 1/23: Mercury Square Uranus (3:13 AM), Mercury enters Aquarius (9:50 PM) till February 11

Unexpected events, unbalanced people, could disrupt our plans today. Harsh words could be spoken impulsively, alienating us from others. During the next 3 weeks, our mind is open to the unusual. Ufology could be attractive, as are inventions connecting science and metaphysics.

Friday 1/25: Mars Trine Jupiter (9:53 AM)

A wonderful day to begin a new exercise program and indulge in outdoor activities requiring an adventurous spirit. A new project begun today is fueled with enthusiasm, faith and trust in its positive outcome. Great also for a long-distance journey requiring physical stamina.

Tuesday 1/29: Sun Conjunct Mercury (6:52 PM)

A good day for active, direct, positive communications. Let us make those phone calls, write those letters and in general, clear our desk of backlogged work. We speak our mind with clarity. Our interactions with others are pleasant and mutually beneficial.

Thursday 1/31: Saturn Sextile Neptune (6:21 AM)

The perfect day to give a practical form to our dreams. Our idealism is grounded in reality. A secure condition could dissolve, allowing us to reinvent it. A very good day for artists who are both esthetically inspired and have business acumen.
