The Weekly Sage – Edition 13

weekly sage

Welcome to the latest edition of the Weekly Sage, an outward and inward look at the week to come. So many of us use Tarot, astrology, and contemplative journaling to support ourselves and each other. We hope this little weekly blog will inspire all of us to think, feel, and transform in bigger ways together. May it unite us by collectively magnifying our personal intentions into a potent resource of positive energy, that will spread into our communities and beyond.

We are so excited here at Sage Goddess about all the magic on its way to you! We have celebrations coming up that you can attend no matter where you live.

November is such a blessing in itself, dear ones – with so much abundant magic surrounding us, how can we help feel anything but grateful? Thanksgiving is so near and dear to my heart and I am so excited to share this season with you. As we celebrate this year, I’d like to first express my gratitude to you – for your friendship, your wisdom, your energy, and your support of Sage Goddess.

Being in sincere gratitude is important; acting in gratitude is powerful. Practicing gratitude allows us to welcome positive thoughts – which makes us happier and healthier. It’s true! Research shows gratitude changes the heart’s rhythm faster than any other positive reaction or feeling. These positive feelings then turn into positive actions. Happiness is contagious, and when we vibrate with the energy of gratitude, we impact those around us. The Universe acts when we act. It’s a constant cycle of action and reaction. The most powerful statement of gratitude includes a commitment to action.

Gifting, whether intentionally or unintentionally, has significant meaning. I want to inspire you to think differently about your holiday shopping this year. How can YOU become more intentional when choosing gifts and presents for your loved ones? How can you think more in terms of depth, purpose, insight, and energy when choosing items to delight and gift those you love so much? The answer is simple: focus on the meaning or intention you’d like to convey to your intended recipient. Giving the gift of intention will resonate all the more, and let your friend or family member know you see them for exactly who and where they are right now.

Get ready for my magical Black Friday sale – meaningful gifts for you and everyone on your holiday shopping list this year! Starting on November 22nd, we’ll launch over 100 new treasures just in time for the Holidays. Throughout the day we’ll launch many new items on our Facebook page. And if you’re in the Los Angeles area, I invite you to come by, say hello, meet your neighbors, and enjoy a warm mug from our beverage bar while you save on all your magical gifts this holiday season! I hope you are as excited as I am to see the seasons change and know the time of rest and connection draws near.

Astrology – Let’s go on an adventure!

the weekly sage edition 13 astrology go on an adventure 1

We are under a New Moon now – in the early hours this morning, at 3:42 am PST, the Moon and Sun came together (in conjunction) in the sign of Scorpio, gracing us with regenerative energies. This is a great time for reflection and connection with your inner voice, and heart. I hope you’re able to harness its potent energy and tap into your deepest feelings and desires. The New Moon is so important to my practice and so central to my own process of manifestation that I decided to hold monthly free, live events for the New Moon (as I do with Full Moon) with a focus on setting intentions and anchoring space for new beginnings. Were you able to join our New Moon celebration last night? Follow us on Facebook so you don’t miss out on our future events!

The Sun will enter Sagittarius on November 21st, at 7:04 PST, and we welcome the fiery levity of Sagittarius, with a healthy dose of faith and courage. Sagittarius wants to see how high it can jump and what’s on the other side of the world. It’s hard to find more truth without fresh environments and new fields of experience. With Sagittarian energy, we are connected in the realm of knowledge and curiosity with awareness and courage. Sagittarius nurtures hope in its never-ending quest for adventure, truth, and open-mindedness. The energies that surround us, as the Sun enters Sagittarius, encourage us to connect to something larger than ourselves – to reach out and discover the world around us. We can use the month of Sagittarius, with the shooting arrow-infused Sun, to see the bigger picture, adventure (within and without), and expand our concept of wisdom and truth.

Neptune turns direct on the 22nd, after a five-month retrograde (since June). Retrograde energy pulls us inward – into reworking, redefining, and reclaiming something for ourselves, in our own way. Neptune represents everything that is out there, and the interconnectedness of it all. This is why we associate Neptune with imagination, dreams, visions, angels, other dimensions, the collective unconscious, and our connection/oneness with Divinity and nature. Neptune energy is hard to contain and define – its very nature is contrary to definition and separation. But, we are on this planet to have a human experience of Spirit – we are manifesting Spirit through our bodies. As Neptune turns direct, we are encouraged to turn our dreams into reality and share our love with the world.

Weekly Tarot

The World Tarot card comes forward today, for all of us. The World is a card of completion – the ending of one journey and the beginning of a new journey of self-discovery for further growth. A dancer is depicted in this card, with her legs crossed – similar to The Hanged Man, yet completely opposite. The dancer encourages us to look outward, while The Hanged Man encourages us to dive inward. She holds two wands in her hands and gazes off to the left – the direction of receptivity. The dancer is surrounded by a green wreath of victory in the shape of the egg/Yoni – representing creation and new beginnings. The figure is female, but she also holds a certain bit of androgyny, which represents the union of principles and self. Finally, in the four corners of the card, we see the angel, the eagle, the ox, and the lion. These images are symbolic of the four directions, elements, and suits – pentacles, swords, wands, and cups. The angel represents emotional perfection, holiness, and a full heart from a life of giving (cups). The eagle symbolizes fulfillment of the mind (swords). The lion depicts the culmination of desire and creative energy (wands). And the ox is symbolic of our corporeal center and our physical needs (pentacles). The World reminds us – that to be whole and at one in self-realization, we need all four elements depicted in the four corners of the World.

When The World Tarot card comes forward, it calls for a celebration of our accomplishments; everything is now falling into place due to our hard work. If it hasn’t already passed, the finish line is near. This card reminds us that we are in the right place, at the right time. Literally, The World Tarot card can also be associated with travel – a time of new experiences, friendships, and embraces. Remember, we never stop growing. There’s always another adventure. And like a merry-go-round, we will again come full circle as The Fool continually sets out on the journey toward deeper understanding.

Weekly Journal Prompt – Part of my world

journal 11 18

Often, we berate ourselves for caring about what other people think of us – do they think I’m incompetent? Do they think I’m weird? What if they don’t like me? Unless you’re completely self-involved, you are always going to care, and it’s a beautiful thing. Instead of feeling like you’re weaker for caring about the thoughts of others, why not turn it around and be grateful you feel so connected to others? If those thoughts in your head are just a projection of your insecurities, what if you used them to improve yourself? Harness that energy into being a better version of yourself – because change is constant, right? Pride yourself on the fact that you are self-aware, and your actions affect others. It’s important to heed these messages, and at the same time, embrace your own, unique voice. Do you worry about what other people think? How do you let the thoughts of others affect you? Why is it important to be grateful for your own voice? How can you embrace your own path?

The Big Question:

the weekly sage edition 13 traditions

Why is it important to have traditions? And how does this affect you?
