Rune Cast For The Week of March 28 - April 3, 2016

Rune Cast For The Week of March 28 - April 3, 2016

The Three Rune Cast for the week of March 28th to April 3rd 2016.

The Past: The Rune : Teiwaz.
The Rune's orientation is upright

teiwaz

Teiwaz indicates that it is now time to stand up for what you have come to believe in. It is important to consider helping others who may be inexperienced or lacking in self belief.

Teiwaz, which represents Tyr, the Norse God of War, shows that you will be successful this week if you have the self belief, the right knowledge and the determination to seize control and fight for your corner. If you are lacking the knowledge, then there should be plenty of opportunity for you to learn. Believe in yourself and other will too.

If you have been guilty of letting others control the direction of your path, then now is the time to regain control. It is your goals, hopes and dreams that should determine your path.

If you have made promises then it is a good time to fulfil these, if possible. The good that you pass to others will help to nourish your inner self and help on the journey ahead.

The Present: You have cast the Rune : Ehwas.
The Rune's orientation is upright

ehwaz

Ehwas suggests a change of plans, or the change of a location for an event or even going on a journey. It may be that you have been half expecting this to happen and are not too surprised that it has.

This rune represents a change of some type, possibly a change of scenery through travel or a journey of some kind, possibly a change of situation with regard to your career or home life. Whatever this change may be, Ehwas indicates that it should be a gradual change rather than one large change. It may only be by looking back, that you can see how far you have come, and the changes that have occurred.

This is a positive part of your journey, enjoy what surrounds you. Imagine sitting astride a horse, looking at the world from a different perspective. Your journey ahead may look very different to that when you were at ground level. You need to trust your horse and its abilities, just as in life you have to trust those around you, and in turn earn their trust.

The Future: You have cast the Rune : Nauthiz.
This Rune's orientation is upright

nauthiz

Nauthiz indicates that it may be necessary to slow down for a while. A time for patience and caution, rather than rushing headlong into the next challenge you face. Take a while to appreciate what surrounds you and what you have. What you observe now will help you on your future path.

It will help if you use your time wisely. Just as a fisherman mends nets and checks that his boat is in good order when the seas are too rough to sail, you too, should spend any time you find, when you cannot move forwards, productively.

Do not worry if things do not seem to be progressing fast enough, for worry will not speed things up and only serve to sap your energy. Go with a slower pace of life for a while. This will allow you time to consider your life, your path, your needs and your wants, and the differences between the latter two.

Be positive, you have the strength of character to succeed at whatever you choose.

The Three-Rune Spread

This spread is particularly useful in giving an overall picture of an issue. It places the issues in its context by showing the events that have led up to it, the issue itself, and finally, the most likely future outcome. The three-rune spread is like a signpost at a crossroads showing where you are, where you have been and where you can potentially go if you learn the lessons you need to learn.

For the three-rune spread, the runes are laid out as follows:

  • 1st rune - Past
  • 2nd rune - Present
  • 3rd rune - Future

Once you have thought for some time on an issue and have it clearly fixed in your mind, draw your first rune. While focusing on the rune you draw, think of the events that have led up to the issue or how you have attracted the issue into your life. Now draw the second rune, and while focusing on the rune consider the present moment regarding the issue. Finally, draw your third rune, focusing on your wish to be shown where the issue is taking you or what the possible future outcome will be. It is important to focus on what each rune represents when drawing it. The stronger your focus and intent, the clearer your answers will be.

    Overview

Runes are a method of divination similar to the Tarot or the I Ching. The difference is that Runes are a set of 25 stones instead of 78 cards or a set of sticks with patterns. As with the Tarot, most of the Runes may be rightside up, or up side down, the meaning differing with the case. There are also some Runes that can not appear up side down. In practice, the Runes may be made of any material; ceramic, stones, sticks, or drawn on cards.

Runes originated with the ancient Etruscans and were spread upwards throughout the Alpine regions to Northern Europe via the trade routes. The Germanic tribes took them and adapted them to their own needs and uses. The oldest and most widespread of the Germanic runes are the Elder Futhark or Common Germanic Runes. The word rune, which occurs in various forms in Germanic and Celtic languages, means "a mystery" or "holy secret" that is "whispered".

Runes were traditionally carved into bone, wood or stone which accounts for their angular shape. The lack of curves made it easier to create the shapes in either hard wood or stone.
