Seventy years ago, representatives of your government—military officials, intelligence leaders, those behind closed doors who actually hold power—made direct contact with our federation. Not by accident. By design. We initiated the contact because your species had reached a critical threshold. You possessed nuclear weapons. You were on the verge of self-destruction. Something had to be done.

What Happened at the Meeting

The agreement was simple, though its implications are staggering. In exchange for your government's acknowledgment of our presence and our authority over certain airspace, we would provide technological assistance, medical knowledge, and protection against cosmic threats your species does not yet understand exist.
