Where Beams Land

Where Beams Land

Where Beams Land

Dispatched into space/time,
I am learning much about
this star I'm here
to explore

—to let
explore me.

The fingertips of trees
reaching into blue
heavens lauding
a fresh bestowal
of cosmic
crystals.

These starlings
I'm meant to soar
the winds
of earth
with.

Painting
on wing.

What makes
it tick, ticks
me, too.

Tides and tempos
alighted, for this
is the work of
a sunbeam.

Which I am.

On a mission,
pilgrimage, on
a sacred quest to
further the reaches
of awareness.

Taking form as a
flicker of clay
I discover
much
about
the nature
of being alive
to living.

I learn the difference
between things, a differentiation
necessary to further the range
of experience sentience
seeks through
novelty, I
find.

Coming to discern the
provenance of boundary
as wholly distinct from
border; one holding
space, the other
dominion.

This has to do
with energy, I see,
nothing concrete
in this elemental
perpetuity
of motion
via form—
at least at
these cosmic
coordinates.

Living lessons
learned through
participation in
particulars.

A grasping of
distraction as
a block? a gift?
a reckoning either
way, meant to serve
the surest traction
in this dynamic
expansion
steadily
widening,
deepening.

Opening.

It is an endless choosing,
this venture in forming
moment by sacred
moment.

Mad Hatters,
Cheshire
grins
and all.

For wonder
is the key
unlocking
every door.

And play...
well, play
is the hand
that opens
them.

This is the
secret of the
sunbeam.

The magic.

Even as the
moon bears
earth's shadow,
swallows sunbeams
in her great round belly,
all moves forward
with great speed.

No matter
how dark
it appears,
back into
light, back
into light
is the way
of sunbeams.

For a sunbeam
sees blue sky
when there is
none to be
seen.

Remembering
again and again
that it is made
of this
light

that
colors,
illumines
all.
