Style Inspiration From Celebrities

Style Inspiration From Celebrities

When you’re centered in yourself and your spirituality, looking good comes naturally. You exude quiet confidence.

So, when you see someone in the public eye who has life by the tail and looks at home doing it, you know you’re looking at someone spiritually centered. That quality emerges in interesting ways when you let your exterior speak to the world around you.

Who we are is the basis for the way we dress. We express ourselves with clothes, even subconsciously. But when you unequivocally know who you are, a natural alchemy takes place, bringing your personal truths forward by materializing them as a sartorial story. Let’s draw inspiration from four celebrities who bring unique, individual style to fashion, transforming and elevating it with personal storytelling.

Daniel Kaluuya

Rising to stardom in Jordan Peele’s landmark offering Get Out, Daniel Kaluuya is setting red carpets ablaze with his deft and effortless takes on classic looks. At the 2022 BAFTAs, Kaluuya dared to cut through a sea of tuxedos wearing a full-length, mohair-trimmed Prada coat. Unorthodox and confident, Daniel Kaluuya challenges traditional fashion norms, actualizing and owning them.

And while this formidable actor rocks the red carpet in the best way possible, Kaluuya is only too happy to dress down in comfortably smart sportswear options. With an Oscar under his belt and a winning association with one of the world’s most visionary contemporary filmmakers, we expect to see much more of this powerful actor and newly-minted fashion icon. Emulate him by slicing your own path through the fashion wilderness, telling your one-of-a-kind style story with eloquence.

Rami Malek

Bursting into film in 2009 as a newcomer in A Night at the Museum, Oscar winner Rami Malek is the latest actor to bring a Bond villain to life. His style is classic but adventurous, never afraid to add a sharp edge to fashion tradition. Malek has distinguished himself as a man who knows how to dress as well as knows how to portray complex personalities in film. And with famed US Vogue editor Anna Wintour’s seal of approval, no one can deny he’s got swag. Malek breaks the rules, transforming slim leather trousers into a sleek style statement, thumbing his nose at any hint of a biker parody.

Crisply tailored, this is a man who isn’t afraid to go off-road, sporting sparkly shirts with trim black custom suits. And surprise! He finishes his look with highly-polished, striped footwear worthy of a night at the dancehall. Get your Rami on by combining traditional cuts and shapes with fresh accessories, prints, and textures. Tell your own tale of conformity transcended. When you have no fear of taking chances, you bring others to the party.

Style Inspiration From Celebrities

Gigi Hadid

This high-powered supermodel - and lately host of reality show Next in Fashion - burst onto international fashion runways in the first decade of the millennium. Hadid’s sinuous grace is made for fashion but her natural style intuition and vibrant life force lend her personal elegance a comforting warmth.

A glimpse into Hadid’s approach to fashion was shown at the 2019 Met Gala’s famous Camp: Notes on Fashion event. Sporting a gold and white brocade catsuit, matching skull cap, and full-length, feathered coat with matching platform boots. She dresses to thrill and uses her unique physical characteristics to her advantage. But it’s her street style that has people watching Gigi Hadid for trendy clues. You’ll see this new mom on the street in on-trend motocross jackets paired with catsuits. She’ll also be resplendent in the bonanza of this year’s denim looks with her signature crop tops. On the runway or running chores, Hadid’s effortlessly charming street style prioritizes comfort without sacrificing elegance.

Dua Lipa

Britain’s hottest contemporary export, Dua Lipa’s sounds are heard everywhere you go. But as you’re hearing her voice waft through the air, you’re seeing her style influence all around you. In particular, Dua Lipa’s influence on the rise of denim as a monster 2023 trend is undeniable. This pop superstar’s dedication to denim has created a tsunami of innovation. From a faded, raw-edged denim belt-skirt to a “Fendi meets Versace” all-denim look (including knee-high boots), this innovative performer elevates denim to a concept..

But if Dua Lipa can get her denim fix in the form of a bra top - especially an ultra-strappy one - she’s in! These are two key clues to drawing inspiration from Dua Lipa’s singular style. Others include cutouts, cheeky post-punk bodysuits with tights, and sleekly snatched gowns you can’t tear your eyes away from. For the Dua Lipa look, think “bad girl making the right moves,” while turning the right heads. Weave a tale of intrigue and edgy rebellion, crafted of denim and bad girl bra tops.

We’re all spiritual people and that includes some celebrities. By “reading” the way they put themselves together, we’re comforted to see a little of ourselves in them and vice versa. So, what are you wearing right now? And what’s the story?
