How to Bring Back to Life the Dreams You Once Left Behind

How to Bring Back to Life the Dreams You Once Left Behind

What if I told you that the dreams you once left behind, those ‘silly’ hopes and aspirations – as the world used to call them – that used to fill your mind and heart with so much love, beauty, and wonder are not dead, but rather asleep?

And if I told you that you can bring them all back to life? Not to make a fool of yourself or waste your life away. But to prove to yourself that they were placed in your heart for a purpose.

Big Dreams are your birthright

To use your creative power in ways that enrich and give meaning to your life; to bring forth dreams, ideas and accomplishments that have never been brought before; to play, to create… to make the lives of those you come in contact with, happier, fuller and richer… All of that is your birthright.

Joy is your birthright. Love is your birthright. Beauty, awe, wonder, genius and freedom… They are all yours for the taking. And whether the world believes this to be true or not, it does not matter. All that matters is that you yourself believe it.

HOW TO BRING BACK TO LIFE THE DREAMS YOU ONCE LEFT BEHIND

  1. Break your addictions to the dead past

It’s not where you’ve been, but where you’re going that truly matters. The story of your past is just that, a story. It doesn’t define you and it doesn’t reflect the truth of you.

Only YOU have the power to do that.

Break your addiction to the dead past and tell yourself another story. Break your addiction to the dead past and bring back to life the dreams you once had.

  1. Tell yourself a greater story

No more moaning and complaining about the dreadful past and unjust present. For all of that is beneath you. Leave the dead past behind you and move forward with your life.

Tell yourself another story; a greater story about the noble life you want to create and the dignified person you aspire to become.

  1. Hold yourself accountable to a higher standard.

Higher that it’s even humanly possible. For you are God in human form. And with God, and as God, there is absolutely nothing you cannot do.

“Is it not written in your Law, ‘I have said you are “gods”’?~ John 10:34

  1. Design a new concept of Self

Become conscious of the person you want to become and the greater life you want to design for yourself. Use all your focus, energy and attention to become fully aligned with the vision of your future.

Ask yourself:

Who do I want to be?

How do I want to think, feel and live my life?

If there were no limits to my creative power – which by the way, there isn’t – how would I live my life? How would I perceive myself and the world around me? And how would the world around me perceive me?

  1. Prepare your Self for the life to come

Don’t just sit around waiting for change to happen. Become an embodiment of that change.

If all your dreams were already a present reality, how would your life be different than it is now? How would your thoughts, words, feelings and behaviors reflect this great change? And then go ahead and clothe yourself with this new concept of Self. Become ONE with it by thinking, feeling and living as if it’s already done.

“The power of imagination is incredible. Often we see athletes achieving unbelievable results and wonder how they did it. One of the tools they use is visualization or mental imagery… they made the choice to create their destinies and visualized their achievements before they ultimately succeeded.”  ~ George Kohlrieser

  1. Do not deceive yourself

Awake and become aware of the thoughts you think and the words you use on a daily basis.

Are you using them creatively or destructively?

Do you invest them on educating, improving and preparing yourself for a nobler life and greater Self, or do you spend them on things that enslave you and stories that frighten you? Where does your focus go?

  1. Waste not your energy away

The thoughts you think, the words you speak, and the conversations you have with yourself and others, they all go forth and prepare the place where you will dwell in the future. And whether you will lay down on green pastures, or barren lands, that is up to you.

“For just as rain and snow fall from heaven and do not return without watering the earth, making it bud and sprout, and providing seed to sow and food to eat, so My word that proceeds from My mouth will not return to Me empty, but it will accomplish what I please, and it will prosper where I send it.” ~ Isaiah 55:10-11

  1. Be a wise farmer

Make your mind a fertile ground. Give it something to look forward to each day. If you want to become better at something, and I am sure you do, plant the seed of genius, greatness, courage and adventure by spending at least one hour each day to educate yourself and polish your gifts, talents and skills.

Become an active participant in your own growth and development. And know that every hour spent in study, doubles the number of connections in your brain from 1300 to 2600.

But there’s a catch.

These connections stay in place only if you review, practice and repeat what you have just learned. If not, in a few hours or days, these connections are lost. And what a waste that is…

  1. Put off your old self

And clothe yourself with a new Self. Waste no time on blame, gossip, and things that are unlovely. Instead, dwell on that which is kind and loving. “… whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things…” (Philippians 4:8)

  1. Tie no weights on your ankles

If you want to fly, to soar on great heights, tie no weights on your ankles. Release yourself from the binds of anger, hatred and resentment – no matter how hard and challenging that may be.

Forgive. Release and let go.

Look not to your past with anger, resentment and regret. But rather, look forward to your future… in awe, love and anticipation of what is coming.

If there is someone from your past that you need to forgive, forgive them. But not superficially. Truly forgive them. For as Neville Goddard said so beautifully, forgiveness is complete forgetfulness.

“I only forgive something when I truly forget. I can say to you until the end of time, “I forgive you.” But if every time I see you or think of you, I am reminded of what I held against you, I have not forgiven you at all.

Forgiveness is complete forgetfulness.

You go to a doctor and he gives you something for your sickness. He is trying to take it from you, so he gives you something in place of it…

Give yourself a new concept of self for the old concept. Give up the old concept completely…” ~ Neville Goddard

Give yourself a new concept of self for the old concept. Give up the old concept completely. For in forgiving them, you free yourself.

  1. Do not look to the outside world for validation

But rather to your own Self. If you want love, become love. If you want to be SEEN, valued and appreciated, learn to truly SEE, value and appreciate yourself.

Familiarize yourself with the Truth of who you are and seek wisdom, courage, validation and understanding from DEEP within.

Give to yourself what you want the world to give you, and in time, the world will catch up with you and mirror the exact same behavior.

  1. Familiarize yourself with the Truth

What truth? The truth of your “I Am” Presence. The truth of, “I have said, ‘You are gods; you are all sons of the Most High.’” 82:6.

The truth of, “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.” Matthew 17:20

The truth of, “Even the least among you can do all that I have done, and greater things.” ~ John, 14:12

The truth of, “What do you mean, ‘if you can’? All things are possible to him that believeth.” ~ Mark 9:23

  1. Assume the feeling of your wish fulfilled

“Nothing stops you from realizing your objective save your failure to feel that you are already that which you wish to be, or that you are already in possession of the thing sought. Your subconscious gives form to your desires only when you feel your wish fulfilled…” ~ Neville Goddard

Since all things have their root in consciousness, nothing can stop you from realizing your dreams other than your failure to feel that you are already that which you wish to be, or that you are already in possession of the thing sought. Your subconscious gives form to your desires only when you feel your dreams and wishes as though they were a present fact.

Man, by assuming the feeling of his wish fulfilled, and then living and acting on this conviction, alters the future in harmony with his assumption. Assumptions awaken what they affirm. As soon as man assumes the feeling of his wish fulfilled, his four-dimensional self finds ways for the attainment of this end, discovers methods for its realization.” ~ Neville Goddard

Do not concern yourself with HOW it’s all going to happen. Just focus on the What and the Why. And in a way you do not know, your dreams will be brought into reality.

  1. Now take the first step in faith

“You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” ~ Martin Luther King Jr

“You don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” ~ Martin Luther King Jr

Do the best you can with what you know. And when you know better, do better.

Believe in your dreams as much as I believe in you.

And these are some of the ways in which you can bring back to life the dreams you once left behind and the joy, innocence, and love for life you lost the moment you abandoned your dreams. They might not always be easy, but they are worth it.

I believe in you. May you find the inner strength and courage to believe in yourself as well.
