The main theme for May is “ALL ABOUT BALANCE”.
It is time to take a good hard look at what is out of balance in your life and make some serious choices about bringing in more balance and making the necessary changes to bring yourself and your life back into balance.
If you look around and reflect on the state of things in the world, there is a lot that is out of balance. Just in terms of climate and weather we have either too much or too little of the resources we need, causing stress and destruction instead of productive outcome.
It does not help to blame, as blame is easy. The responsibility has to begin with each one of us individually, looking deep within to identify the imbalances we have been living with, putting up with, or blind to, and then setting a strong intention to correct the course towards a more balanced life. What feels out of balance in your life despite what you or others think? If you are a moving centered person where action is your primary way of responding, too much mental time sitting at a desk or working a computer is not going to provide you with the balance you need.
If you are an emotional type, an absence of art, beauty, music, creativity and human connection will feel like drought conditions and affect your well-being. If you are a mental rational thinking type, too much emotional chaos, movement, change, clutter and human congestion can cause tremendous stress. The balance is carving out simple alone time to process and assimilate one thing at a time without overwhelm.
All of us have all three response types within us with a favorite primary. The key is to balance all three so you get enough simple thinking and assimilation time, enough emotional inspiration and expression time, and enough physical movement time.
The other aspects of imbalance are between doing and being and between taking care of our own needs as opposed to the needs of others. If you are always compromising yourself towards someone else’s needs and desires, you can lose sight of what you need to keep you balanced and healthy.
In terms of being vs doing, unfortunately we are a society that has greatly rewarded hard work thus encouraging an unbalanced life of over achievement, workaholism and overwhelm. The state of “being” was identified as wasting time, being lazy and unproductive. There is a need to reset how we “work”. We all need to find balance between work, play, rest and study. The work should be true work, something that you enjoy and makes you feel like you are contributing your service. Rest should be true rest (not sleep). Play should be fun and with people you love to be around or doing something you love that is fun for you. Study should be learning something that you personally have an interest in.
Most of us spend way too much time trying to juggle what we think we ought to do to make everyone happy and what we truly want to do that feeds us and only us. If you take balance seriously this month you are likely to disappoint others at times. Don’t take it personally. Allow them the responsibility for their own balance and for creating what they need for themselves.
Balance is having just enough, not too much, not too little. Part of working internally with balance is to acknowledge the elements of nature that we have a relationship with and work with right balance as they relate to our bodies and energy systems. Earth, air, water and fire are always striving for balance within our physicality, and when they are imbalanced we not only struggle with physical issues but the environment around us responds as well and we can experience extremes in their expression on the planet. (there is a very good exercise for working with balance and the elements on the monthly support audio)
A big area of imbalance is our relationship with time and whether we experience having too much time, not enough time, time that is not our own, time that feels unproductive, time that feels pressured etc. Organizing your time, making time for yourself and your needs will go a long way to set up a better foundation for balance. How do you spend your time and with whom? Do you like how you spend your time? If not, what can you change?
As you reflect on what is out of balance in your life, it is important to stay out of martyrdom and realize that you always have a choice. It is also important to acknowledge that you will never please everyone so it is perhaps time to look to your needs first. If you can bring your life into more balance, it will have a ripple effect on all your relations and begin to bring your environment back into balance as well.
Making choices about balance will certainly mean giving something up. That something could be something that you said yes to that you should not have or it could be an unsupportive relationship or even your habit of constant worry. As you take an inventory of the “stuff” (physical, emotional and mental) in your life, ask yourself if it is serving you, if it brings balance, if it is necessary, or if it is important. Some things that seem important to you are not important to others and this is where you stay in your own lane and create good boundaries around your own truth. Everyone is different and diversity as it pertains to balance should be acknowledged. So, stay out of judgment of others, make your own choices, and keep good boundaries. (to support this, we are putting our online course on boundaries and protection at a discount of 50% for the month of May)
How the month shows up:
It is a time of great transformation and the window between the 2 eclipses offers us the opportunity to examine what is out of balance, work on our self-esteem, eliminate what does not serve and reset ourselves on a new trajectory of greater balance in our lives. It is not an easy time as we reflect on an identity that is being eroded by change. You can be irritable, despairing, inspired, grateful, emotional, rational, serious and whimsical all in the same day.
The best thing to do is to stay grounded and connected to the earth as a constant foundation. There are some serious choices that will be made by some especially about what to eliminate that causes imbalance. Some of you are overworked, overstressed, and feeling unsupported. If your life is out of balance, this is the time to get it back into balance.
You will find out who your friends really are as you make choices they may not agree with. Some of you are used to saying yes when you should be more discriminating. And some of you may be overly discriminating and need to allow more connection and support. Whatever the balance is that needs to be addressed, you have a good opportunity to anchor a new cycle. Put yourself first even if you disappoint someone. And if others are disappointing you, know they are taking care of their own needs. Don’t take it personally.
This is a great month to evaluate your relationship with time, prosperity, finances, how you use your energy, how you relate to your body and all of your support both physical and non-physical. There is nothing like a relationship to mirror imbalance or balance back to you. Do you have enough alone time? Do you have enough say and expression? Do you have enough balance between doing and being? Do you feel compromised in your relationships, not being heard or not receiving enough support? Do you have balance between security and adventure?
This month could be tough on relationships especially when balance and needs are being evaluated within a relationship. Stay out of blame and judgment, come from compassion, and make choices that feel emotionally right for you, not from a place of reaction but from a place of clarity and right action. When working through issues, come from the intention of improvement and raising your self-esteem. The discipline is to know what is yours and what is not and to allow the other person to simply be in their process.
Anchoring new relationships are also possible during this time of shifting and transformation. Always have the intention that new agreements come into your life to support new projects, new adventures and new connections.
HEALTH AND THE PHYSICAL BODY
An important time for greater understanding of the body and its relationship to the environment and to balance especially the balance between doing and being, creativity and destruction. When we hold onto things past their due date (whether physical, emotional or psychological), it affects the body. We are very good a creating. But are we as conscious of the vital energy of destruction? Once something is past its time, it needs to be released, destroyed if you will to make room for another creation. Creativity without destruction is a cancer, creating on itself unchecked.
The physical body is affected not only by physical events but by emotions and thoughts as well. If you have not forgiven someone from your past, that energy is festering in you. If you have not released a disappointment in your life or you are obsessed about how something could have been different, that energy is festering in your body and could eventually manifest itself into a state of dis ease. Those are also attachments that keep you imbalanced as they take up a lot of energy that could be used more wisely somewhere else.
Fears, worry, anxiety, resentment, blame, shame etc., are all fields that can affect the body. Take this month and really work on clearing the way though acceptance, forgiveness, release and working with the energy of destruction as a positive means to making more room for your next creative move.
BUSINESS PARTNERSHIPS AND PROJECTS
This is positive month for partnerships and projects as there is movement and action that can be harnessed for progress. Keep in mind the improvement theme as well as the need to evaluate situations for balance. You can ask yourself the same questions about balance as with any relationship or aspect of your life. Those of you with businesses and employees have an opportunity to improve the work setting to be more balanced in giving/receiving, when to take action and when to sit back.
If you are working for a business, you can ask yourself if the work is supportive in a balanced way. How does the work fit into the balance of your life? This will be a month of transitions as many will realize that what they are doing is not providing what they need. If you have a project that has been on hold, you have an opportunity to reflect and reset and get it going, maybe with the same people or maybe not. The best intention is to give spirit the freedom to bring you an opportunity you may have been to narrow focused to imagine. Then, if it feels right, go for it.
It is good month to watch the finances that may be up and down depending on fluctuations in investments, unexpected expenses or unexpected windfalls. All of the above is possible. Stay out of fear and be proactive with your deserve-ability and your havingness around abundance.
The environment continues to reflect our own inner imbalance. We will continue to see too much or too little of good balanced water, fire, earth and air. It is topsy turvy and keeping us on our toes. We are so used to being able to predict what is happening in the environment that when it is not in our control, we have a problem. Best advice is to stay grounded and connected to the earth and then to work proactively with each element and your relationship to its power and gifts.
We may also see people changing their environments, moving physically to locations that feel more aligned. This is a time of migration, closures and new beginnings. The times support it. However, if you are to make use of this possibility, you cannot be entrenched stubbornly in your old habits, patterns, beliefs, and unproductive thoughts. Look around at your personal environment and see what you can improve, whether you are planning to make a move or not.
DATES AND TIME FRAMES
May 1-7: We are in the window between the 2 eclipses and may feel overwhelmed, irritable, ungrounded and confused. There are definitely tasks that are clear to us but we have more questions than answers and that is not a bad thing. It is a time of reflection and truth about balance in your life. What do you want? As personal issues, feelings, thoughts and judgments come up, practice neutrality and improve one small thing every day. Don’t be afraid to say no or take something off your plate. At the same time don’t be afraid to set yourself on a new course, try something different and make some new connections. Stay grounded, stay in your own lane, stay neutral and don’t take anything personally.
May 8-15: This is a time frame that supports looking at your personal comforts, addictions and what gives you security or what you believe gives you security. Comfort is important for the instinctive center however this time frame will test your comfort and nudge you to let go of your delusions of what gives you comfort in order to explore other potential possibilities for a greater sense of inner security.
What are your comforts? Do they really serve you? Or are they addictions that mask fear, insecurity and low self-esteem? These are hard questions but the truth will begin a process of getting back into a better balance in your life. And remember that one person’s comfort may be another’s fear. So, stay out of judgment.
May 15: Full Moon, in Scorpio with a total Lunar eclipse is Sunday, May 15 at 10:15PM Mountain Daylight Time (MDT). This is a super moon and a very powerful time. Whatever you have set into motion during this eclipse window will have far reaching effects. Be careful what you ask for and make sure it is from the heart.
Use this eclipse to take action and to refine the intentions you have been working with since the new moon at the beginning of the month. This is a transformational time that can expose issues that need to be addressed and inspire us to manage our obstacles and challenges in a new and better way. We are encouraged to think and problem solve outside the box with a focus on improvement and innovation. We will be rewarded for creative thinking and new solutions to old problems.

May 16-23: We have a lot of work to do post eclipse cycle. There may have been insights, choices made, clarity on some things and more confusion about others. You may also be facing the great task of organizing your time, resources, support and tasks towards a decision you made for more balance.
This is also a time where you may be tested. Did you really want that? Is this the right path? Is this the right person? Watch ego’s reaction to change and keep checking in with your essence about your plans. Also beware of others and their reactions, both positive and negative to your decisions and choices that may be affecting them. Stay neutral and keep following your heart.
May 24-31: We get a little respite here or maybe we are just getting used to the constant intensity of the times. But seriously this time frame really asks for a time out to play, celebrate, be in community and express beauty, companionship, support and love. It has the potential to be higher centered despite what may be still going on in the world that is depressing and horrific. You can hold all of it in a big container knowing that there is still much work to be done but there can be times of celebration as well.
You are also likely integrating change whether it is something you decided for yourself or that someone else has made a choice that affects you in a serious way. If you need to take time to assimilate, do so. We are allowing new energies to integrate where they need to. The future is still unknown however you can set a strong intention that it will be the best one possible.
May 30: New Moon in Gemini is Monday, May 30 at 5:30AM Mountain Daylight Time (MDT) More on this New Moon will be sent as a Power Path New Moon update to our mailing list (click here to join)
