OUR SUN has been exceptionally active over the past two days. Solar flares on Friday (January 28) included seventeen B-class and nine C-class flares. On Saturday (January 29), there were eight B-class, twenty-two C-class, and one M-class flare. These are significant numbers! In my facebook posts yesterday, I called it a "solar Woodstock"; the energy was so amplified, it seemed that there were new bursts of activity on the solar stage every few minutes.

Yesterday's M1.14-class flare was especially spectacular, since it was a long-duration event, lasting 99 minutes! If you felt an increase in nervous energy, or felt more anxious or emotional than usual, this might have been part of the cause. You may also have had particularly notable dreams last night.

IN ADDITION to affecting Earth's magnetic field, solar flares impact our central nervous system and other biological systems. They activate cellular memories, sometimes bringing forth unprocessed emotions that are stored in our physical bodies. This is why solar activity can correspond with sudden waves of memories or emotions that appear "out of the blue," so to speak. If these arise, it is best to allow ourselves to feel the emotions without attaching labels or meanings, and to let the wave flood through and then subside.

Scientific studies show that solar storms and geomagnetic activity affect the pineal gland, which is sensitive to magnetic fields. In her book The Illumined Heart and Mind, Margo Kirtikar, PhD, states that the French philosopher René Descartes called the pineal gland "the center at which the soul and the body interact, and where we receive our messages from the Divine realms." She goes on to say that Greek philosopher Plato believed that the pineal gland is our connection to the realms of thought, calling it the Eye of Wisdom. 

Because of the activation of the higher centers and pineal gland, some people experience headaches, eye pain, sinus pressure, blurred vision, vertigo, and other similar symptoms during heightened solar activity. This may be due to the energies being cleared from the pineal gland and third eye. We have all experienced lifetimes — or even times in the current life — where we needed to close down our spiritual awareness for survival reasons. Those fears and blocks are now being cleared to allow further development of our spiritual senses.

SOLAR FLARES and geomagnetic storms are one of the mechanisms used by the cosmos to stimulate human consciousness and to accelerate our collective spiritual awakening. This is one reason I get excited about increased solar activity, even though it can also correspond with some uncomfortable physical, mental, and emotional symptoms.

The probability of more C, M, and even X-class solar flares continues to be high for at least another day, so I'm keeping a close eye on solar activity right now. If you want to read my periodic reports, please keep tabs on my facebook page.

A NEW LUNAR CYCLE begins on Monday, January 31, at 9:46 p.m. PST. (This translates to 5:46 a.m. GMT on Tuesday, February 1.) At that time, the Sun and Moon will align at 12°19´ Aquarius.

This is a highly significant New Moon, since it squares unpredictable Uranus (at 10°53´ Taurus) and conjoins authoritative Saturn (at 15°30´ Aquarius). In essence, the lunation will activate the effects of the Saturn-Uranus square that nipped at our heels throughout 2021. This is the planetary influence behind the conflict between individual freedoms (Uranus) and the rules and restrictions imposed by governments and authority figures (Saturn).

THE STRONGEST INFLUENCE at the time of the New Moon is the Uranus square, since the aspect is within two degrees of being exact. Because of this, we can expect that the new lunar cycle will begin with a few surprises, some of them electrical in nature. Nervous energy is likely to be very high.

This is due not only to the New Moon energies, but also because the coronal mass ejection (CME) that was released by Saturday's M1-class solar flare is predicted to reach Earth early this week, as soon as Monday night or Tuesday morning. CMEs are projections of plasma that contain electrons and protons. When they reach Earth's magnetosphere, geomagnetic storms occur. This can cause beautiful auroras but can also disrupt radio transmissions and cause other electrical outages, when the CME is strong enough. We won't know until it arrives what effects the CME from the long-duration M1-class flare will have.

We will want to be very flexible in our expectations, and openminded as well, both at the New Moon and throughout the next two weeks, leading up to the Full Moon on February 16. Uranus is not only the planet of radical change, it is also the planetary representative of Higher Consciousness. Insights that come forward now may challenge our current view of reality.

THE SUN will exactly conjoin Saturn on Friday, February 4. Changes that are initiated or rebellions that are launched with the New Moon will likely be tested by the end of this week. Saturn is known for causing slowdowns and delays, usually for the purpose of making sure we have everything in place to ensure success.

Helping us move forward despite perceived obstacles, Mercury goes direct on Thursday, February 3. In the three weeks since Mercury went retrograde on January 14, we may have been updating old communication systems and repairing or discarding existing technologies. With Mercury being in "traveling conjunction" with Pluto, we've also become aware of information that will likely change our course going forward.

Over the next two weeks, leading up to Mercury's third rendezvous with Pluto on February 11, we can benefit from gathering our resources and further clarifying our intentions. We will then be ready to speak our truth or in other ways reclaim the power of our thoughts and words to transform our lives.

New Moon, 9:46 p.m. PST: This lunation sets us on course for some major life changes. It will be helpful to stay flexible and openminded. With heightened solar activity also on the agenda, self-care is especially important, including getting good rest and drinking plenty of pure water.

Thursday

Mercury stations direct 8:13 pm PST: For the past three weeks, our task has been to review our plans and intentions, to make sure that we are clear in our thinking. As Mercury begins to slowly move forward, there are more opportunities to likewise make progress on projects that may have been stalled. 

Friday

Mars sextile Jupiter: This aspect supports taking concrete action based on creative inspiration or a spiritual vision. 

Sun conjunct Saturn: Our sense of responsibility is heightened, and we are likely to be cautious about taking too many risks.

Saturday

No major aspects are exact today.

Sunday

Mars square Chiron: Frustrations and anger are possible if we are feeling controlled. If our needs often seem to be disregarded, this is an opportunity to understand the mechanism behind the manifestation. Healing is possible if we take the time to nurture the insecure child aspect of our inner being.

IF YOUR BIRTHDAY IS THIS WEEK: Situations outside of your conscious control may continue to affect your freedom of action this year. However, you can use any delays to make sure your plans have a good foundation. Once restrictions ease, the main challenge will be to harness your creative energy so that it is used wisely rather than being diffused wildly.
