The 2021 Wesak Festival Full Moon of 8 Scorpio-Taurus Pt. 2

The 2021 Wesak Festival Full Moon of 8 Scorpio-Taurus Pt. 1

- Sabian Symbols Showing the Light of the Independent
Will Expressed As A Receptivity To the Light -

This Full Moon is the fourteen since the Grand Mutation waveform was activated at the end of March 2020, and the fifth since the Solstice conjunction launched a new long term era. We’re headed into the future!

This is said to be the “Second High Moon” of the Northern Hemispheric Spring. The “High Moons” are the first three Full Moons with the Sun in Aries, Taurus, and Gemini each year, where life renews itself and a global wisdom is poured out to humanity at the Wesak and World Teacher festivals.

As I offered yesterday, we had several extraordinarily important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020. All the conjunction points made by Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in January and March were activated by Mars in March 2020, and its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius set long wave structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape.

That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting the houses where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies tremendously expanded which will show effects over the next decade! If you’re wondering how this Great Compression and those to come will impact us, please check out the linked articles on the bottom of Part 1 of this series published previously.

As the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, we now can use the clarity we’ve found the past two weeks and see the bigger picture in our lives and social transformation process. This one gives us new light on our social and emotional responses which can show us the future once our minds are stilled.

Saturn continues to be incredibly powerful as it occupies mid-Aquarius and now teaches us to trust our “inner barometer” as we measure our progress from the angle of the Soul. It now gives structure and substance to the themes of the third 5 degrees of Aquarius, further solidifying the new Aquarian patterns of the coming era.

The wave that began last April and was given wings in December will take clearer shape as Saturn sits between 7-14 Aquarius this year. Last year we were “galvanized into action” and “liberated from adverse conditions.” This year Jupiter is giving us an expansive view of all of Aquarius between January and mid-May, with a review in August and September before we take a third look at the last part of Aquarius before Jupiter races through Pisces in 2022.

The Sun in Earth and Moon in Water shows a time of the Fixed Earth (stabilized practicality) of Taurus expressing its consistent groundedness through the Fixed Water (stabilized feeling experience) of Scorpio. This continues our focus of many months on the social and emotional levels of life, and the oppositions involving these signs help us to an awareness of using knowledge and skill in balanced ways to anticipate what’s coming in the future.

In this chart, 3 planets are in the first third of their signs, 4 planets are in the second third of their signs, and 3 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a balance between the actional-material and individual, mental, and spiritual fields, with slightly more emphasis on the social/emotional fields.

Why Are Full Moons So Important?

At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.

That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.

Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We’re now finishing a period of many months of no transit to transit oppositions other than those made by the Moon, until the next run begins when Mars opposes Pluto in June 2021. That means the evolutionary “Tension of Opposites” in this Lunation involves 7-19 Taurus and Scorpio, which gives us an intense focused field of awareness involving Moon, Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Uranus as they are the planets in opposition.

Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?

The Sun is in Taurus, making Venus its worldly ruler and TransPluto its spiritual ruler. Venus is in Taurus, one of its home signs. The Moon in Scorpio has its worldly ruler Mars in Cancer and its spiritual ruler Pluto in Capricorn. Mars in Cancer is ruled by the Moon, creating a “Mutual Receptions,” which is an extraordinarily powerful “closed loop” of energies.

Besides the Mutual Reception, this Wesak Full Moon has 3 “final dispositors” ruling all the other planets. The Sun, Mercury, Venus, and Uranus are all ruled by Venus; the Mutual Reception rules the Moon and Mars; Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto are all ruled by Saturn in Aquarius; Neptune, as usual, is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself. That means the rulerships are fairly spread out this month. A final dispositor is a planet in one of its “home signs,” or the signs it rules.

By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. You can find out more about dispositors in general, chains of dispositors, and mutual reception by going to Astrology Class – What Is A Dispositor and What Is Mutual Reception Between Two Planets?

The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon

This Full Moon falls at 8 Taurus and 8 Scorpio. It is said that the first third (decan) of any sign deals with the actional, material, and physical levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the first decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Taurus and Scorpio.

Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.

The Solar Sabian symbol for the 8th degree of Taurus is "A sleigh without snow.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this degree is one of “independence of the will of the self from outer circumstances” and “ the power to mould life upon the pioneer’s prophetic vision.”

In The Astrological Mandala, he offers that this degree is about “the value of anticipating and preparing for expectable conditions,” giving us a “product of traditional skill” and our ability “to foresee and thus to prepare for a future situation.” He says this tells us “to be ready to use past knowledge and skill to meet the demands of a stage yet to come.”

He continues that “we should realize the value of future-oriented imagination but also of relying upon the natural order of unfoldment of all life processes.” He states this degree falls in the Span of Experience in Act of Differentiation, and is the synthesizing degree of the Emotional-Cultural level in the Scene of Substantiation.

Dr. Jones offers that this is a degree of “the magic which (we) may always summon to (our) assistance in facing the problems of everyday living,” stating “the static stress” of the symbol “is a needless acceptance of the contingent relationships by which the defeats of life are facilitated.” He continues “snow is only necessary for this vehicle under the most unimaginative circumstances, since Nature is ever prodigal in her means for supporting reality.”

He offers us the keyword SUSTAINMENT. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree “is a complete and effective alignment of self with whatever greater possibilities may remain unrealized in a given milieu.”

So the Light of the next two weeks (and the compassionate Wisdom teaching for the year) involves anticipating things to come, and using knowledge and skill to mold the future according to our vision. It would seem there’s magic to be claimed to assist us in our lives, without the need to accept unimaginative limitations. This gives us the Light of knowing how to align with greater possibilities so we can find sustainment in the future.

The Lunar degree symbol for the 8th degree of Scorpio is “The Moon shining across a lake.” In his notes from the Jones class on the symbols published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this degree is one of “Illumination of the soul by transcendent wisdom,” and “Quiet touch with cosmic strength; or wayward moody effort at greatness.”

In The Astrological Mandala he goes on to say this is a degree of "a quiet openness to higher inspiration.” He suggests this symbol is one showing us the surrender of the personal ego to the “inspiration of transcendent feelings,” where we can get out of our own way and experience a higher Love and Wisdom. But we have “to present a calm mind upon which a superman light may be reflected.”

He states this degree “tells us that beyond all efforts lies the need for peace and the readiness to accept the illumination from above,” and gives us the keyword quiescence. He says this degree falls in the Span of Retention, Act of Group Integration, and is the synthesizing degree of the Scene of Communion on the Social-Cultural level.

Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “the magic on which (we) always may call in facing any problems of inner or psychological adjustment.” He speaks of “a fellowship of feeling which leads to all romance and which enables human hearts to gain their moments of release from the outer compulsions upon them and thus achieve their inner and more enduring orientation.”

He offers that “natural events here tend to shape themselves to meet the individual’s real yearning for a deeper experience,” and offers us the keyword RAPPORT. He states that when operating positively, the degree is a “an absolute and usually unsuspected mastery over the forces and exigencies of life and nature.”

From these symbols it seems the next two weeks we’ll see the Wisdom in the Light of anticipating things yet to come, and preparing for what’s down the road. This is the Light of a new social or emotional awareness expressed through some form of a deeper experience or connection with others or within ourselves. The Sun is the Light of shining out our knowledge and skill, and the Moon allows us to express that awareness in a deeper connection with Life and experience.

TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption

I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back which I’ll be updating very soon. If you want to know more about the vast spiritual field coaxing us toward a great redemption of the promise of Life itself, please take a new look at TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Spiritual Lessons of 2021. We have now entered a long period of getting over our prejudices and preconceptions, and approaching others from an angle of “the fellowship of humanity.”

*********

At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)

In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,

The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on Earth

From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to Earth

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serve

From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.

See you soon with part 3 covering aspects, planetary sequencing, and other important factors in this Full Moon.
