Sabian Symbols Showing the Light of Imagination
Expressed Through A Detached Whole View.

This Full Moon is the seventeenth since the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius which launched new 20 and 200 year eras. We’re headed into the future!

I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbol. For now, let’s take a closer look at this activating, balancing, dues paying and focused Full Moon.

As the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, we can use the strength of “birthing a new vision” we’ve practiced these past two weeks and see what we need to fulfill that vision in our own unique way. We can now “see the Light” of reclaiming something from the past, and give it a more pleasing and functional form in the present.

The Sun in Fire and the Moon in Air shows a time of the Cardinal Fire (activating inspiration) of Aries expressing its initiating Light through the Cardinal Air (activating relatedness and associations) of Libra. This continues previous Full Moon themes of getting clear on the individual and spiritual levels of our existence.

In this chart, 1 planet is in the first third of their signs, 3 planets are in the second third of their signs, and SIX planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a heavy emphasis on the individual, mental, and spiritual levels of life, some emphasis on the emotional and social levels, and not much in the way of the actional-material levels of life. This will be an extraordinarily social-spiritual focus for two weeks!

Why Are Full Moons So Important?

At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.

That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.

Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. All the inner planets are now done with their run of oppositions to the outer planets. This chart has only one opposition creating one axis of “the Tension of Opposites.” We have the Moon opposed Sun generating awareness around 25-29 of Aries/Libra, making them the drivers of our “awareness generator” for the coming two weeks.

Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?

The Sun is in Aries, making Mars its worldly ruler and the Moon is in Libra, making Venus its ruler. Mar is in Pisces, ruled by Jupiter in its home sign, showing that Jupiter is on center stage with Saturn, and is dominant because it’s the final dispositor to all the other planets except Saturn and Pluto.

The Moon and Mercury are both ruled by Venus in Pisces which is ruled by Jupiter. Mars and Uranus are also ruled by Jupiter, making Jupiter the “final dispositor” for 8 planets at this time. Only Saturn and Pluto are ruled by Saturn. Neptune, as usual, is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself.

By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon

This Full Moon falls at 27 Aries and 27 Libra. It is said that the last third (decan) of any sign deals with the individual, mental, and spiritual levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the third decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Sagittarius and Gemini.

Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.

The Solar Sabian symbol for the 27th degree of Aries is “Lost opportunity regained in the imagination.” In the original Jones class notes published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this is a degree of “Beginning of mental maturity and slow growth of the creative faculty,” “revision of attitude,” and “mental house-cleaning.”

In The Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree symbolizes “revision of attitude and inner revaluation.” He states this symbol may be one of apparent defeat or failure in a situation meant “to be a challenge to the emergence of a new capacity; generally speaking, this capacity is what one calls ‘creative imagination.’ He adds, “the mind must first ‘imagine’ that which (it) will then be able sooner or later to actually experience.”

He says this symbol cautions us about judging “success” or “failure” too quickly, and offers “what counts is the development of undaunted faith in the pursuit of one’s ideals.” He says this degree falls in the Span of Examination, Act of Differentiation, and Scene of Potency on the Individual-Mental level.

Dr. Jones says this is a degree of practical “psychological maturity,” and of “the all-important and creative fluidity of character which makes (us) an immortal being.” He offers that experience is “a means by which (we) may become the author of (our) own destiny rather than a pawn of purely superficial events,” and our ability “to re-establish (ourselves) in (our) own world by (our) own efforts” when we want to create “a better foundation” for what we want to accomplish.

He offers us the keyword REFORMULATION. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is “the self’s effective command of itself in any situation brought to immediate issue.”

The Lunar Sabian Symbol for the 27th degree of Libra is “An airplane hovering overhead.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols, Rudhyar says this is a degree of “dwelling above the normal stress of existence,” “superior mental vision,” and “Calm objective observation; quiet inner strength.”

In The Astrological Mandala he offers that this is a degree of “a consciousness able to transcend the conflicts and pressures of the personal life.” He states this degree “symbolizes the capacity… to contemplate the stress of existence in our world of duality from a higher level,” using our minds and supported by the thought forms of generations of others, we can “gain a new perspective on human problems and reach freedom and peace in a supernal realm of being.”

He says in this symbol we are “introduced to a realm of unity beyond polarity” and “transcendent realization. He offers this degree falls in the Span of Revelation, Act of Group Integration, and , and it’s the counterpoint degree in the Scene of Reconstruction on the Individual-Mental level.

Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of our “psychological maturity” in some ideal form, and of “the imaginative resourcefulness of character which makes (us) immortal.” We are told experience is “a means for achieving an overall view of the world,” and “the self-satisfaction which follows from seeing things in terms of their consequences and relationships.”

He offers that this degree indicates that from time to time, we will find ourselves “the momentary epitome of every human potential,” and gives us the keyword REFLECTION. He states that when operating in a positive way, this degree is “high effectiveness in self-adjustment or real skill in meeting the crises of life.”

From these symbols it seems we can see the Light of illuminating our ability to use imagination to rethink, reconsider, or reclaim something, revise our attitude, show “mental maturity,” and ability to be fluid and claim our authorship of our world. Open your imagination, open to a new view or interpretation of things, open to new approaches to things you want to accomplish, and be as creative as you know how to be.

This Light will be expressed through the Sun illuminating our power to come to a “superior vision,” dwelling “above the stress existence,” and finding quiet, calm, and strength in seeing what we see. We will all have opportunities to get a bigger view of things, and find peace in that broader understanding. This is a degree of transformation, as well as adventure. Make the most of it!

Entering A New Era Blending Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles

As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape.

That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! The wave that began April 2020 and was given wings in December has taken clearer shape during the time Saturn occupied 7-14 Aquarius in 2021. During early 2021, Jupiter gave us an expansive view of all of Aquarius, and then passed through the Transfiguration Zone in late April and early May, again in early August when retrograde, and a final time in December, giving us three different experiences of “graduation into a new realm of Being” transforming our lives so we can see how we are related to other Light Beings in the collective field. Now we get to say goodbye as we prepare to move into a deeper sense of how we fit into the whole.

TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption

At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)

In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,

The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on Earth

From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to Earth

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serve

From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
