September 2022’s theme: The Preparation

Hello Awakened Soul,

Lately, I have been obsessed with sand dollars. The other day, I bought a sand dollar necklace and a month ago a large metal sand dollar for the wall on my porch. I am suddenly conscious of them on signs around the beautiful beach town of Parksville, where I now spend part of my time. There is something about the sand dollar that is speaking to what is being experienced in this present moment. I go through phases like this where I am drawn to nature symbols, and I realize that they mirror where we are in our current collective healing journey. All is connected in the wheel of life and we live in a sacred world order. Our environment speaks to us in these kinds of ecological metaphors and if we take the time to seek deeper reflection there is spiritual wisdom that presents itself.  

Scientists can age a sand dollar by counting the growth rings on the plates of the exoskeleton. Sand dollars are a rich reddish brown to purple and usually live six to 10 years. When one finds a sand dollar on the beach it is the bleached dead remnant of an extraordinary creature that uses its spines to move flatly along the sand or drives itself edgewise into the sand as needed. (Source: Monterey Bay Aquarium). Legends say they are mermaid money or currency used in Atlantis, the mythical, utopian, undersea city. 

A well-circulated poem about sand dollars based on Christian lore tells of the flower shape representing the poinsettia and the holes depicting the wounds in Jesus. The star in the center of the petals suggests the star over Bethlehem. When broken apart, the five parts of the mouth each look like tiny white doves, a symbol of peace on earth. (Source)

Overall the sand dollar is a slow mover, sifting sand, slowly digesting food and adapting to the ebb and flow of the ocean currents to thrive. It is known as the “master of its environment”.

Psychospiritually, sand dollar’s vibrational energy supports us when we are struggling to take responsibility for lives, to learn how we may be feeding the self-sabotage energy within, and to slowly digest and discover the core patterns that are responsible for the creation of it in the first place. I mentioned that last month we are Transcending the Victim archetype, and this month we are gaining deeper traction to transform our old limiting realities and relationship dynamics.

We are also being prepared for a DNA Higher Mind upgrade in October. This is a heavy, fatiguing and sometimes painfully grief-filled process; to see how we have unconsciously fed our own fear, limitations, scarcity and misery.  

This month the Sage Archetype is nudging us to become more acutely aware of our disharmonies/patterns/symptoms and is helped by the introspective energies of Mercury Retrograde (see Cosmic events), taking us for a deeper dive into existential revelation. The Sage shines a light on our past choices and personalized ways of making a mark in our lives. It illuminates us to shatter illusions that drain our Vital Force. This archetype also encourages us to extend our higher senses and trust ourselves; it is our psychic home. 

By harnessing The Sage archetype and grounding ourselves in the Earth Mother archetype (which we worked on embodying last month), our inner wisdom brings the next stage of our life purpose and life direction into focus.
