Inner Guidance Helping Us Revise Our View.
We have the Full Moon coming this week! This distributive, synthesizing, finalizing, reviewing and purifying Full Moon occurs at 2:59 am PDT, 10:59 am BST on September 10, and falls at the 18th degrees of Virgo and Pisces.
Use the light of practical, imaginative approaches you’ve been seeing and expressing since the New Moon, and through feeling your connection to Source, let go of all that is irrelevant to you putting yourself out so others can admire what you stand for. This is the Light of practical inner guidance expressed in forms of Piscean social activity, so show your world your best and have fun playing your part!
As the Moon in Pisces conjunct Neptune is front and center, this Full Moon will bring some very vast feelings, with Neptune showing a need for us to continue purifying our personality by “revising ideas back to source,” but also by putting ourselves out “to attract a following” or put on some sort of show. With Mercury and Venus in mutual reception, we’re looking at 2 weeks of looking back, rehearsing, revisiting, reviewing, or re-thinking many things by getting a different perspective on past experiences of “returning to Source.”
Today’s Full Moon post will be an overview of the Lunation and some of its primary qualities. In parts 2 and 3 we’ll cover the Sabian Symbols, aspects, distributions, and patterns.
This Full Moon is educative through actions, with a strong sense of finality regarding some things, and a need to look back to let go of ghosts of the past which may be hindering our movement forward, whether physically, emotionally, or mentally. We have Uranus cutting the opposition of the Lights into a powerful sextile and trine which will show us how we’ve finished “a job well done” and open us to “hearing the inner voice” giving us wisdom related to our magnetism. That configuration favors synthesizing many parts to see the whole, and helps us sort out what fits into the big picture and what doesn't. This will be a very intense period of adjusting to conditions by going within while letting go of all which doesn’t matter.
While things may be spinning sideways and even backwards over the next 2 weeks, it’s all designed to lead us to a sense of what our Soul is here to do. Mars will help us with letting go of what we no longer need to carry with us in the way of mental baggage, with Mercury helping us remember what used to inspire us so we may reconnect with our spiritual Source. So the next 2 weeks represents a review at the threshold of a new season of things spinning in multiple directions at the same time!
As with all Full Moons, use the light you’ve been seeing and expressing since the New Moon, and give it form and focus to see how to anchor those themes in expression. This period is testing our willingness to visualize a higher way of Being, synthesizing the parts to see the whole, as well as our ability to use “down time” wisely. While there may have been disappointments in the recent past, we’ll soon find ourselves in a time of receiving “rewards from Spirit” for our purifications and preparations for the future. We’re definitely revisiting many things these next two weeks to find a new inspiration. Keep cultivating the expression of your spontaneity, knowing that this time is one of multiple adjustments and sacrifices which ultimately will help our originality come forth.
This Full Moon brings the Light of the Virgo New Moon into a realization of how to find a new view by taking inner guidance to align with Spirit. The next two weeks promise unique interactive circumstances bringing gifts and blessings in ways that will help many of us use time breaks wisely. This is an extraordinary innovative and insightful Full Moon with the ability “to find a following” and get to the heart of any matter fairly quickly. Be grateful for the blessings you receive, and you're sure to receive more blessings.
Is the Sun Following the Moon, or the Moon Following the Sun?
This Lunation is the fourteenth Full Moon where the Sun is in the same sign (Virgo) as it was in the New Moon two weeks ago. We are now in “the regular order” of the Sun/Moon relationship cycle, and this one brings light and power to a great spiritual promise or vision which will open in 2023. We can now take the last New Moon themes of being willing to do “self transcendence” disciplines and through listening to our inner voice, let go, let god, and bless the passages while showing the world something special we know or are here to do.
There are two patterns; one is when the Full Moon Sun is the same sign as the previous New Moon Sun, and the other is when the Full Moon Sun is in the next sign from the Sun in the previous New Moon. The Sun was in the same sign in both the New Moon and Full Moon, the so-called “natural” order, between April 2019 and August 2020. At the August 2020 Full Moon we entered the “reverse pattern” of the Sun of the Full Moon occupying the sign after the New Moon Sun, since the previous New Moon Sun was at 29 Cancer and that Full Moon Sun was at 12 Leo.
Now that August 2021 brought us the New Moon Sun at 17 Leo and Full Moon Sun is at 30 Leo, we’re back in the natural order for many months to come. You can find out more about the “seed forms” of the New Moon two weeks ago by going to the archives.
Past As Prologue
The 2020-22 Eclipses moved us all in new directions, reorienting wherever we have Taurus, Cancer, Gemini, Scorpio, and Sagittarius in our charts. Remember that all Eclipses are “Cosmic recyclers,” taking away what is obsolete or de-magnetized in our lives. These losses clean out psychic and physical spaces so newer life substance can come forth. We’ve cleared out many old ideas, truths, habits, and perspectives the past 2 years, and now have a wider view regarding our life and the Life around us at the beginning of a new 20 year Aquarian era for humanity.
As you know from other articles, 2020 was the last year of a 200 year Earth era, with Air power building throughout the year which primed the pump for the 200 year Air era which began on the Solstice with Jupiter conjuncting Saturn at 1 Aquarius. However, we will still be “under the beams” of the powerful conjunctions in Capricorn, since between January and March 2020 we began new Saturn/Pluto, Jupiter/Pluto, Mars/Jupiter, Mars/Pluto, and Mars/Saturn cycles. The first of these launched a new 33 year era into motion.
Due to these conjunctions in late Capricorn and both Mars/Saturn and Jupiter/Saturn conjunctions at 1 Aquarius, we are in a long term period of finding wisdom by understanding transfiguration and enlightenment as verbs rather than nouns. We’ve now officially taken the first step into the coming Aquarian era. While this is not yet “The Age of Aquarius,” this is the final intensification of those energies which will sprout seeds in the second quarter of the century which will take us across the threshold of the Great Age soon after 2050.
In this Full Moon, the span occupied by the inner planets (in this chart Venus at 7 Virgo through Mercury at 9 Libra) is 32+ degrees, a fairly wide span. As the inner planets plus Mars are moving through Gemini, Virgo, and Libra these will be the primary areas stimulated in our charts. At this time Mercury, the Sun, and Venus are in signs outside the outer planet span, continuing our series of changing Jones Patterns in the near future, mainly determined by the Moon.
Right now all the planets occupy two spans; the outer planet span plus Mars is between 27 Capricorn and 12 Gemini, and the inner planet span between Venus and Mercury. This gives an empty span between Mars and Venus of 85+ degrees, and an empty span between Mercury and Pluto of 107+ degrees. Because of the planetary spread, we now have a “See Saw” influence due to the multiple oppositions and the wide angles between the occupied span. We now have oppositions of the Moon conjunct Neptune opposed the Sun, and Mercury opposed Jupiter, creating the “tension of opposites” in this Full Moon.
At this time we have the 10 traditional planets occupying 8 signs. Currently, the outer planet occupied span begins with Pluto in late Capricorn, then moves through Saturn in Aquarius, Neptune in late Pisces, Jupiter in early Aries and finishes with Uranus in mid-Taurus, with Mars occupying Gemini for many months to come.
The See Saw Pattern and how it works
This type of spread, with two or more planets on one side of the map and the others on the other side of the map, with at least one or two oppositions to define the axis of awareness, creates a “See Saw” Jones Pattern. Where a See Saw pattern is present, stay focused and balanced at the center while taking note of the periphery of things, and don't get off on a tangent or limb.
The See Saw cautions us not to get marginalized or go off on tangents, and find a whole view to any opposition that can include both views and more. This shows a need to see all sides of any opposing views or trends. It gives an excellent ability to learn how to triangulate using approaches which transcend the polarity, as well as find ways to "draw a bigger circle" around any opposing forces that encompasses both phases of the polarization to create progress and understanding.
The oppositions in Virgo/Pisces and Libra/Aries define the “zone of oppositional awareness” in this chart, and includes the Moon, Mercury, Sun, Jupiter and Neptune. Expect major awareness to come forth wherever you have the last half of Pisces and the first decan of Aries. Because of the Moon conjunct Neptune, this is ultimately a purifying and transforming period of heightened awareness with huge potential to focus the spiritual energies represented by Neptune via the Solar opposition and Jupiter via the Mercury opposition.
Is the Grand Irrationality A Factor in this Full Moon?
Because this section is so long, I decided to create an article which explains what it is, how long it’s been in effect, and which zones of the zodiac have been most impacted and when. You can find all you need to know about this configuration associated with widespread irrationality and hard-edged “forks in the road of destiny” we’ve all confronted at various times by going to The Grand Irrationality. I’ll update it soon.
Any transit making multiple 7th harmonic aspects put this “7-pointed Star of Destiny” evolutionary configuration into play, bringing choices and changes affecting our future. The generic configuration is why things seem so crazy and hard-edged at this time in history, and why humanity seems to have been at an unending “fork in the road of destiny.” In this chart we have no planet making a septile-series aspect to Uranus or Neptune.
Obviously, this evolutionary configuration is triggered throughout the year when a planet moves through any of the hot zones of the configuration. This configuration will next be triggered when planets transit 21-22 Libra and make triseptiles to Neptune and Uranus. That means mid-October will bring major forks in the road! I’ll speak more about it in part 3 when I cover the special configurations.
Saturn: Spiritual Master, Spiritual Friend
Because Saturn continues to occupy center stage in its home sign of Aquarius, it is the final dispositor of all planets transiting Capricorn and Aquarius from now through 2023. This chart shows it continues to challenge us to strength and resilience in the face of disappointments as we review how to use spiritual power effectively, preparing for blessings from Spirit in the immediate future. It certainly continues to be a factor in how we express our Capricorn and Aquarius sectors and any natal or progressed planets we have in those signs.
Though Saturn can feel heavy and bring heavy life lessons, it also in the part of us which can take charge of our lives and destiny by using Saturn’s virtues in the right way and time. Our ability to steer our “ship of personality” into its rightful “role of destiny” has brought us to the threshold of new parts to play on the stage of Life.
We’re still in a long wave period of crystallizing visionary roles to play in the emergent Aquarian era, and with the dance Saturn and Uranus did last year has returned and will play a huge part in the friction between now and the end of the year. This square require that we figure out what matters to us and what doesn’t, with our final exam in “squaring ourselves with reality” happening over the next few months. Uranus has awakened us to new roles to play, while Saturn has brought new mutations and an accelerated evolution which bring us to this point of getting to utilize spiritual power effectively through deliberation rather than instinct.
I explain how Saturn and Uranus work together to awaken us to our Higher Powers to take command of our destiny in my book Saturn: Spiritual Master, Spiritual Friend. Saturn helps us give form and structure to our quest for Self-realization; in Capricorn, it teaches us how to accept and use personal power within a socially responsible context, while in Aquarius it teaches us how to make a greater contribution to our civilization and come together with others in a great effort “ensouled by a great vision.” Coupled with Uranus having awakened us to the fact that the old answers aren’t enough along with the need to accept spiritual power to shape our world, we are collectively “breaking on through to the other side” into an unfolding Higher awareness.
The book was written for both astrologers and non-astrologers. Even those with little or no understanding of astrology will benefit from understanding why you had to make certain choices at crucial times that shaped your life in profound ways.
Each time you read any section of this book you will find new insights about your power to throw off all the attitudes and memories which hold you back from finding and living the life and purpose. If you’ve haven’t already gotten your copy, you can go to the Saturn: Spiritual Master, Spiritual Friend page on Amazon and this should be all you need to order your copy. It’s also available on Amazon and as an ebook on Kindle, so if that’s more to your liking, go for it! If you would, whether you’ve gotten the ebook or the paperback, please write a review on the Amazon site, since the more reviews, the more of a boost they give it.
On A Final Note
See you in the near future with parts two and three on this Full Moon which will show how to take inner guidance as we reconnect with Source in ways which inspire us. This will help us synthesize our view and help us eliminate all which doesn’t serve the evolving Aquarian long wave evolutionary pulses as we train for renewed spiritual effectiveness. Saturn has also been teaching us gratitude for small opportunities to grow, and in that practice we become stronger in our attunement with the abundance universe. As we strengthen that alignment, we bring forth more to be grateful for!
Express your spontaneity in whatever ways and forms present themselves; there are interactive gifts and blessings to be had the next two weeks in grounded practical ways. Unique interactive opportunities may take some time to develop, so be willing to use the time wisely. Mercury and Venus are very powerful in this chart, so trust your inner voice as it leads you “back to Source” where you will find renewed inspiration as the current representative of your “spiritual lineage.”
The new roles and responsibilities we took on in 2019-2020 led to new social effectiveness in 2021 which continues this year. Again, look to where you have late Capricorn and early Aquarius in your chart to see the focus of coming years. The compressions in Capricorn led us to forms of personal power, and being very long wave cycles, indicates our work for a long time to come. We finished this year’s Aquarius compression in March, and are now expanding and expressing our new emergent role in the long wave Aquarian energy.
We’ve entered a new chapter in our spiritual journey at a fork in the road of our collective destiny. 2020 was about forging our connection with the World Soul, our Wisdom, and our greater dedication. 2021 began the new era in our lives. We’re all wiser than we used to be, have been given ample opportunities to value our heart connections with our friends, and display the vaster spiritual awareness we share with our Brothers and Sisters.
I’ll see you soon when we’ll discuss Sabian Symbols, aspects, and other important chart factors.
