It was late afternoon as Snowy Owl and Shooting Star climbed the path to the Star Temple to do celebration for the New Moon. Here in the North Country the Standing Ones who lined the path, and those in the woods below, were showing their brilliant autumn colours of yellow, orange and red. But they were already shedding their leaves which covered the path. As the sisters climbed the path the leaves made crunching sounds beneath their moccasins. The young women knew at the next New Moon ceremony the trees would be bare and the Earth Mother would be preparing to sleep. For now they drank in the beauty of this autumn day.

When they reached the Star Temple they heard a chorus of CAW, CAW, CAW. The Crow Tribe was perched in the branches of the Standing One who guarded the sisters flying capes. “Sacred Law and fairness for all, Sacred Law and fairness for all, Sacred Law and fairness for all” was the message. When the young women entered the Sacred Space the Crows fell silent but their message still resonated like an echo. Snowy Owl and Shooting Star wondered what Sister Moon’s message would be. Then they saw a Raven standing in the center of the Sacred Circle.

His feathers were iridescent black and his eyes were deep yellow. He did not speak but stood perfectly still and silent.  The sisters felt mesmerised by his Magic. When darkness fell although they could not see him they could still feel his power. Then Sister Moon spoke. 

“This New Moon cycle is about finding inner balance. Crow is one of my guides for this journey. He teaches you how to find that inner balance and shapeshift into a new reality that is based on Sacred Law, the Oneness of all. Justice and fairness for all is his message. Raven too is a guide for this Moon cycle. This Winged One carries the Medicine of Magic and gives you the courage to enter the Void which is Great Mystery where all is in perfect balance. Eons of time ago humans valued the teachings of the Mysteries and honoured the Medicine of Crow and Raven. In the far away time the two leggeds fear the unknown and try to be in control of everything. Control is the Great Illusion. When a two legged is trying to control it is because they have not found their inner power. Inner Power is discovering your Sacred Center and allowing the Great Mystery to guide you on your path. When you are connected to that Center you find balance. Go now Snowy Owl and Shooting Star and follow Raven into the Void. There you will experience the magical place of Stillness and Peace.” 

The sisters followed Raven into the indigo night to the edge of the Universe. There they experience the Stillness and the Oneness Within. IT WAS MAGICAL.

Libra is the sign of committed relationships, balance, harmony and peace. It is the sign of the mediator, the negotiator, the diplomat, and its highest expression is The Peacemaker. But those under the influence of Libra are not necessarily balanced. THEY ARE SEEKING BALANCE. We cannot find that balance from outside ourselves (partnership). We need to find it within and then we experience harmony and peace.

Libra, being the relationship sign, is also a mirror. Venus is the ruler of Libra and her symbol is the shape of a hand-held mirror. This New Moon is asking “is the mirror others are showing you who you really are or what they want you to be?” Are you giving up your Authentic Self in order to maintain peace in relationship and be that false self? Are you ready to explore the deeper self and live your truth with personal integrity while honouring the difference in others? The astrological symbol for Libra is the Scales. Balanced Judgment and fairness for all.

The traditional ruler of this New Moon is Venus currently at 03 degrees Virgo (The Rainbow Bridge of Healing). She is conjunct Hygeia at 08 degrees Virgo (the Goddess of health and healing) and Mars at 11 degrees Virgo (choosing to heal). Venus and Mars are currently in the Balsamic Phase of their relationship journey, choosing to heal, forgive, complete, and release. They are in the Balsamic Phase until Nov 02, 2015 when they enter a new relationship cycle in Virgo. The Rainbow Bridge of Healing into Wholeness will be the theme of the new cycle. But back to this New Moon. Venus is opposite Neptune at 07 degrees Pisces (illusion or illumination) and they form a T SQUARE with Saturn at 02 degrees Sagittarius (limiting beliefs and judgment from others). This aspect makes us feel backed into a corner without a way out. But Saturn is trine (ease and flow) the South Node at 01 degrees Aries (releasing the past) and Vesta at 02 degrees Aries (at-oneness-within and being our Authentic Self). So there is always a way out if we are true to ourselves. The North Node at 01 Libra is conjunct Mercury at 01 Libra (visualizing a new relationship direction) and they are sextile (ease of opportunity) Saturn in Sagittarius (a new spiritual foundation for relationship). Again another way out of the corner. We only stay stuck if we want to be stuck.

The Soul Centered ruler for this Libra New Moon is Uranus Rx at 18 degrees Aries (breaking through to the Authentic Self). He is travelling with Earth at 19 degrees Aries (living our Authentic Lives) and opposes the Sun/Moon at 19 degrees Libra (balance between self and others).  Uranus is ruled by Mars at 11 degrees Virgo who is conjunct Jupiter at 13 degrees Virgo (actively being of spiritual service and following our spiritual vision). They in turn are ruled by Chiron who is at 17 degrees Pisces (spiritual healer) who is semi-sextile (right timing) Uranus (breakthrough). So we do not need to stay stuck in old relationship patterns that limit and restrict us. This Libra New Moon is about finding the inner balance that sets us free.

Because I am in a time squeeze (Mercury still in his retrograde shadow) I am posting the following information from a previous Libra New Moon. The Animal Totems, Clan Mothers, Tarot Constellation, and Ray energies are always the same for Libra.  

In the northern hemisphere this is the Ducks Fly and Falling Leaves New Moon with Crow, Universal Laws, and Raven, Magic, as Animal Totems.  Crow represents our social experience and Raven our mystical experience. Together these two Winged Ones remind us to be watchful and aware when the magic of creation is calling us. They are symbols for spiritual strength. The first card I ever pulled from the Medicine Cards (Jamie Sams and David Carson) was Raven. That was the beginning of consciously entering Great Mystery and awareness of the mystical in every experience. In the southern hemisphere this is the Budding Trees Moon Time with Falcon, clear vision, and Red Tailed Hawk, the carrier of spiritual messages, as your guides.

The Clan Mother for this Libra New Moon is Weaves The Web. (The 13 Original Clan Mothers by Jamie Sams) She is the Guardian of the Creative Force and working with the truth. She helps you recognize what you want to create, encourages the decision to create, and guides you as you take the necessary action to give birth to your vision. This is particularly true connected to your relationship vision.

Libra is found on the Tarot Constellation of The High Priestess, Balanced Judgment Through Intuitive Awareness. The other energies that operate on this Constellation are Pluto, releasing judgment and embracing transformation, and the Moon, releasing emotional drama and embracing spiritual wisdom.  At this New Moon Pluto at 13 degrees Capricorn is square the Sun/Moon/Uranus opposition. Transformation and release. The Ray Libra is expressed on is Third Ray, of Divine Mind, with archangels Chamuel, Adoration and Manifestation, and Charity, Love and Gratitude. The message is be grateful for all your relationship experiences, even the difficult ones, for they make you stronger and allow you to be in your true power. Remember the mirror we talked about earlier.

Libra has been described as the Zodiac sign of balance. Actually it represents the need to be aware when the scales are tipped too far in one direction and requires an adjustment so integration and harmony can be restored. That is the focus of this Libra New Moon. Inner harmony.

This sign of partnership has its own mystery. It has not always been part of a grouping of stars that make up the Constellations. In Babylonian times there was no Constellation of Libra. They went from Virgo, the Temple Priestess and at-oneness-within the self, to Scorpio, sexuality and Sacred Union. The Constellation of Libra was created out of the claws of the Constellation Scorpius, the Scorpion. The zodiac sign was gradually introduced in the latter part of the Greek Empire and the early part of the Roman Empire and became symbolic of marriage. Perhaps Libra’s earliest origins of being birthed from Scorpio are echoed in the marriage vow of “until death do you part.” Scorpio is a symbol for death and rebirth.

I wish you all well on your journey to creating relationship that is in alignment with your Sacred Center and begin opening to the new opportunities that are coming your way. Today is Thanksgiving in Canada. Be grateful for all the gifts in your life even the challenges. They make you stronger.
