As Snowy Owl and Shooting Star climbed the path to the Star Temple the western sky was filled with pink, gold, and scarlet. Grandfather Sun was setting. That meant the night sky would be clear of Cloud People and Sister Moon’s full face would be visible as a silver orb. The young women felt the power of this Full Moon without really understanding why. They just felt it.

When they settled into the Sacred Space they looked east and saw Luna rising in the darkness. Sister Moon rose higher and higher until she was directly overhead. Snowy Owl and Shooting Star waited in silence to hear the message for this Full Moon but Luna was quiet. And then they saw a figure emerging from the center of the Moon’s fullness. As it drew closer they could see it was a Goddess dressed in an iridescent black robe with long dark hair and luminescent eyes the colour of the indigo night.  She wore an Eagle cape and as she landed in the center of the Star Temple she lowered her wings. The sisters were apprehensive and a little fearful as they sensed the power of this person.  

The woman spoke. “I am Nix, mother of the night, and all the Dark Goddesses are of my lineage. Sister Moon has asked me to take you on a journey into Great Mystery. Go put on your magic feather capes so you may fly with me.” Snowy Owl and Shooting Star did as she asked and their apprehension turned into excitement for the journey they were about to experience. Nix lead them deep into the Universe beyond where the Wanderers and Starry Ones lived. The sisters were surrounded by galaxies of radiant magnificence. They saw Stars being born before their eyes.  It was a living breathing Cosmos.

Nix led them to the edge of the known Universe and then directed them to look back to where they had just come from. The spiral Galaxy that was home to Grandfather Sun and Sister Moon and the other Wanderers and Starry Ones was awe-inspiring. Mother Night pointed to the Earth Mother, the blue green jewel of the Galaxy. One side was lit by Grandfather Sun and was filled with light. The other side was Sister Moon’s domain and she cast silver blue shadows over the land. Snowy Owl and Shooting Star could see the River of Stars that was the Milky Way in the darkness of Mother Earth’s night. 

Mother Nix spoke “In the far away time most two leggeds have lost their connection to the magic of the Mysteries. They have diminished the power of the Dark and the Wisdom of the Feminine. They fear the dark for it is filled with Mystery.  This Full Moon is the time to discover and embrace the mystery of the darkness and find your inner power and wisdom. The dark Goddesses are offering you the opportunity to transform your fears into strengths. When you are able to do that you will find that in the dark is the Light of your Soul Essence Self. This is the time of transformation that leads to rebirth.”

As Snowy Owl, Shooting Star and Mother Nix returned to the Star Temple Sister Moon was low on the Western horizon. Grandfather Sun would soon rise and night would give way to the day. But the Mother of the Night had one last message. She began to twirl, her black robe swirling in the darkness. Then it suddenly erupted in flames and engulfed the Goddess. When the flames subsided a magnificent Winged One was standing in front of the sisters. “I am The Phoenix” it said. “My gift to you is to always see the path ahead as the path of rebirth and renewal. Go now and step onto that path with courage and empowerment. The time is now.” The Winged One flew into the sky and disappeared but Snowy Owl and Shooting Star knew they had just touched Great Mystery.

And so this Scorpio Full Moon is about finding our Inner Light and letting it shine. It is about clearing out the shadows and allowing transformation to free us. There is actually a six pointed Star being formed by the planetary connections at this Full Moon. The Moon in Scorpio (transformation of self) is sextile Pluto in Capricorn (transformation of society) which is sextile Vesta in Pisces (at-oneness-within and commitment to the spiritual path). Vesta is in turn sextile the Sun in Taurus (self-empowerment) which is sextile the Asteroid Hygiea in Cancer (the power of healing the past). She is sextile Black Moon Lilith in Virgo (healing the shadow) which is sextile the Moon in Scorpio (transformation and re-birth). These signs are all Yin energy, receptiveness to the power of the Feminine. The six pointed Star is a symbol for the Cosmic Christ Consciousness and the healing power that comes to us when we connect to that aspect of self. This is a Full Moon of healing and transformation of the wounded feminine so empowerment can be re-born. 

The Moon in Scorpio is ruled by Pluto in Capricorn (transformation of self and society). They are both part of the six pointed Star. The Soul centered ruler for the Moon is Mars in Taurus (actively becoming empowered). For the Sun in Taurus the ruler is Venus in Gemini, the harmonizer of the Universe. The Soul Centered ruler for Taurus is Vulcan currently in Taurus (healing our hidden wounds). There is also a T Square active at this Lunation. The Moon (13 degrees Scorpio) and Sun (13 degrees Taurus) are square (finding new ways of doing things) Jupiter at 13 degrees Leo. T Squares make us feel backed into a corner. The question to ask is am I letting my personality fears block the expansion and growth of my compassionate heart? Jupiter in Leo wants to support us to follow our creativity and spiritual vision with love. The place of release for this T Square is Aquarius, the healing power of Cosmic Love. It is always available to us. All we have to do is open our hearts and minds to Source.

This Full Moon is also a symbol for Buddha Consciousness. Astrologer Alan Oken states In “Soul Centered Astrology” that “the Buddha is said to have been born, reached enlightenment, and died in the sign of The Bull (Taurus). These events are celebrated each year at the Wesak Festival, the time of the Scorpio Full Moon when the Sun is in Taurus. The Buddha taught that the path of detachment from desire is the vehicle for the entrance of LIGHT… such an awakening brings forth the potential for the fullest expression of our humanness.” Buddha taught that the middle way is to be centered in the Compassionate Heart. Alan Oken also states in “Complete Astrology” that “the Lion (in this case Jupiter in Leo) is an emblem of spiritual power and wisdom. It is a sacred symbol for Buddhism. Buddha is said to have a pet lion who was endowed with miraculous powers.” So this T Square really does ask us to open our Cosmic Consciousness and be centered in our Compassionate Heart. The Master Teachers are walking with us and supporting us along the way. The Dark Goddesses are guiding us to discover our inner power and shine that Light into the world.

The Native Animal Totem for the Moon in Scorpio is Snake, shedding the old skin, healing and release, which leads to transformation. The sacred totem for Scorpio is the Phoenix, resurrection and re-birth. The Clan Mother is Walks Tall Woman the keeper of new pathways. She is the guardian of inner knowing, integrity, and right action. She teaches us to walk the path of our truth. Walks Tall Woman is the guardian of our relationship to Great Mystery. The Animal Totem for the Sun in Taurus is Beaver, the builder of the new and following our dreams and vision. Let this Full Moon reconnect you to your spiritual guidance. The Clan Mother who guides Taurus is Listening Woman, the guardian of “The Stillness.” She teaches us to seek answers within Great Mystery and hear the truth within ourselves. She is the keeper of the sacred point of view of all our relations. She teaches us to walk in grace and be in harmony with All That Is. Let these Clan Mothers, Listening Woman and Walks Tall Woman, guide you as you release what no longer serves you. This Scorpio Moon is active on the Tarot Constellation of The Emperor, the principle of life force and the realization of power. Scorpio symbolizes the transformative power of the Soul. The other energies on this Constellation are Aries, the authentic self (I AM SELF), and Uranus, breakthrough and breaking free. Uranus is currently in Aries and will be in Aries until March 2019 so this Constellation will be active until then. The Sun in Taurus is found on the Tarot Constellation of The Hierophant, the principle of teaching and learning. It reminds us every experience we have is to lead us to becoming Wisdom Keepers and wise teachers. It is about dancing to the tune of a different drummer to discover our Divine Self. The other sign on this Constellation is Sagittarius, learning through experience to discover our Spiritual Truth.  

This Scorpio Full Moon is expressed on The 4^th Ray of Harmony Through Conflict and is the Ray of the human kingdom. The other signs of this Ray are Taurus (personal empowerment) and Sagittarius (dogma or spiritual consciousness). The other expression of 4^th Ray is Harmony Through Beauty and Peace. The Archangels who guide us are Gabriel, transformation and resurrection, and Hope, trust and belief in self. Let us all hope enlightenment and empowerment for all is what humanity chooses. And soon!!!

For the last week or so the song “Somewhere over the Rainbow” from The Wizard of Oz has been playing in my head. The last lines are “if happy little bluebirds fly beyond the Rainbow then why or why can’t I?” Well we can. The Rainbow is the Healing Bridge to Wholeness.

Wishing you all true empowerment at this potent Scorpio Full Moon. And just a last insight. Mercury entered his retrograde shadow today. (He will be on his trickster journey May 18 to June 11). Be aware and alert (especially while driving). When you are communicating with others make sure you are clearly saying what you mean and more importantly meaning what you say.
