Prayer: An Often Overlooked Key to Spiritual Growth

Prayer: An Often Overlooked Key to Spiritual Growth

Prayer is an ancient practice that deserves a central place in your life. Whether you are experiencing a dark night of the soul, an existential crisis, or a spiritual awakening, prayer is always appropriate and helpful.

It helps you surrender to a higher power, cultivate inner humility, align with the basic qualities of personal growth and can mediate spiritual healing.

Of all spiritual gifts, prayer is probably one of the most underrated. Prayer is rarely written about in self-help topics. K how many times have you read, heard, or seen preached about the power of prayer in spiritual circles, outside the church? Not very often.

One of the main reasons for this neglect is our selfishness. a>For this reason, prayer can be perceived as somewhat "weak" and self-deprecating to the modern mind. We desire self-sufficiency, strength and power above all else.

Common misconceptions about prayer include:

  • That only believers pray.
  • That you have failed because now you have to ask for help.
  • The belief that you don't really deserve help, that you're not worthy of it.
  • That you're childish and immature to think it will make a difference.

When the last spiritual resources have dried up, do we think of prayer. A direct bridge to our Divinity. Prayer is namely The truth is, our lives would change drastically if prayer were the first thing we turned to in times of need, or even in moments of gratitude. Often only t Prayer is often the last thing we resort to in a crisis.

The belief that a Higher Power is malevolent, merciless and terrifying, that it makes prayer dangerous. You may have this fear of the Divine, especially if you have been through church indoctrination and have been taught to fear a punishing god.

However, the prayer must not be passive and must not be recited as in church. Memorizing a few words doesn't really change anything.

True prayer is sincere, the one that comes from the heart. Then it is one of the most active spiritual tools. Prayer not only opens us up to higher guidance, but also helps us be receptive to the lessons we most need to learn.

Prayer: A Powerful Yet Underrated Tool For Spiritual Development

The gifts that prayer brings to your life

  • Increases receptivity and openness to life
  • Improves self-confidence
  • It strengthens feelings of safety and security
  • Improves relationships with others
  • It leads to mindfulness
  • You see more synchronicity
  • You will receive unexpected gifts
  • You feel more grateful
  • You are more able to forgive, especially yourself.
  • A more intense connection with the Divine
  • It reduces stress, depression and anxiety
  • It increases the feeling of inner wholeness
  • Increases confidence in oneself and in life
  • It induces transcendental experiences of Unity

The power of prayer is immense. It can change almost every dimension of your life.

For your prayer to be powerful, you must think about what the highest possible good looks like and what you like. Choose a designation that is personally comfortable and meaningful to you. For example: Source, Cosmic Consciousness, Higher Self, Universal Love, Heavenly Father, Constructive Power of the Universe, Guardian Angels, etc.

You must have a personal relationship with the power you are addressing and you must acknowledge it internally. Because as has been said, saying something without faith and personal interest is speaking empty words. To be able to recite something is not a prayer, but only a poem.

Pray for what you need, but also for what you are grateful for. A higher power is not a pimp, it doesn't give you things because you are its servant. The Divine is the universal source of complete and unconditional love. He doesn't punish anyone, he doesn't judge, he doesn't bargain or trade with anyone.

When you pray, you are praying to the unlimited source of love that is your true nature and essence. This peaceful and life-giving Source wants the best for you. Prayer is a way of communicating with your Source.

Pray sincerely and from the heart. You don't have to speak out loud and just make up your prayer as you go. Emotional honesty is the key. Let your prayers embody what is most natural to you.

Notice how much effect sincere prayer has on your life. Have you started praying every morning or every evening? Notice how Source begins to send you help, support and guidance. How he started talking to you and offering you his loving arms. Be grateful for it and give thanks.

The more and longer you pray, the more intensively your Divinity will be present in your life and will support you all the more. If you are in a very dark phase of life right now, prayer is the way to open a window of opportunity and show you the way. Do you need a miracle? Start praying for it and your Higher Self will send it to you.
