Meditation for the New Moon in Pisces

Meditation for the New Moon in Pisces

Affirmations for the energy of the New Moon in Pisces

  • I ask for the healing I need and offer the healing I need to give to others in my life.
  • I hear the inner voice of my creative soul and honor its need for expression.
  • I honor the divine nature of my own being ... and nourish it daily in thought and deed.
  • I understand the need for rest, self-care, and solitude in maintaining a healthy spirit.
  • I ask for tolerance and understanding from those around me ... and give those freely in return.

Creative Visualization

Select a sacred place where you would like to go in your imagination. Maybe it's St. Patrick's cathedral in New York, St. Peter's square in Vatican City, the shrine at Lourdes, the circle at Stonehenge, a grove of sacred oaks, the quiet, cool depths of a cave or kiva from centuries ago, a beautiful coastal beach, or just a quiet private place in your own home or back yard garden. Go there ... in your mind ... in a meditative state, and experience it for a few moments.

Notice all the details that would be part of the experience if you were there in physical reality. The way the light caresses the landscape or interior. The temperature. The smells. The colors. The sounds. The ambiance ... the aura ... the energy ... and how its atmosphere, mood, "feeling," etc. combine with yours. Let these two mingle for a while as you absorb the healing energies of this holy place ... and let its healing magic penetrate deep into your being.

Stay in this place long enough to feel its restorative effects in ways that matter to you, in ways that make a difference in your own focus and energy levels. Maybe ten minutes is enough. Maybe you need half an hour. Maybe you need to come here more than once to find the sensation of renewed calm and strength you want to have.

Once you have that ... breathe deeply ... and invite another presence into your space, a spirit or entity to be with you in this place. Maybe you need to invite the Higher Self of someone with whom you have unfinished business, words left unspoken, the dangling ends of a situation that needs closure and resolution ... so both of you can move on. This can be someone you love, someone with whom you've been at odds, someone whose spirit needs this healing moment as much as you do. It can also be someone you want to help ... or someone whose help you need.

It can be a wise figure from history. It can be a spiritual teacher with information or companionship to share. It can be a representation of your own Higher Self ... or maybe one of your Inner Selves ... such as your Inner Artist or even your Shadow. You can request the presence of a certain entity ... or simply issue the invitation that someone with whom you need to speak join you in this sacred place -- and see who shows up.

Treat this figure with reverence, respect, tolerance, and compassion. Express gratitude at its presence ... its willingness to come to this place with you ... and work on whatever inner or personal business brings the two of you together. Conduct a conversation -- either with words or in the transcendent wordless exchange of feelings. Speak from your heart ... and hear what this entity has to say to you. You can ask for understanding, enlightenment, healing, advice, direction, or knowledge. You can also offer those things in return.

Stay here with this entity until you reach a time of clear completion for what is happening between you. Again, you may need more than one visit ... or you may even want to make this meeting place a regular part of your meditative work. (You can also meet with different spiritual entities if this sort of spiritual communion appeals to you.)

Make arrangements to meet again if you like ... and if your spiritual partner agrees. Take leave of each other with respect and honesty. Be at peace with the work you have done.

Coming Down to Earth

Record notes of this experience in your journal. (Record the entire conversation and your comments on it ... if you found it especially meaningful.) Find ways to honor this experience -- and your spiritual companion -- through gestures and rituals in your waking life. Connect with him (or her ... or it) again from time to time in fantasy. Acknowledge the importance of what this meeting meant to you.

Implement any advice received ... or act on any insight provided ... that makes sense to you and that supports your own beliefs, principles, and sense of self. Keep the channels of communication open. Invite moments of synchronicity to affirm the rightness of your choices. Take notes. And watch what happens.
