Business as usual will not work, it’s time to open up to the unusual, do something different, look at things from another angle and watch the ah-ha’s start pouring in. Your intuition will be firing on all cylinders, giving you access to unprecedented clarity. While your thinking may lack discipline, your ability to access solutions to any recent (or long-standing) challenges will be off the charts. This energy will not be contained, even though it is generally all mental, you really will have a hard time keeping up with the ideas, thoughts, concepts & intuitions that come to you under this influence so try to take notes that you can refer to later when the grounding will be necessary. Pay attention to the messages that come through/from others as well since you never know how the Universe will show up. This alone is an indication that whatever your consciousness may not have been previously ready to assimilate or process is awakening now to that which is just for you!

1/9 ~ Venus (feminine & receiving) ~trine~ Mars (masculine & giving):  Venus rules your values & priorities where relationships with love & money are concerned. It is the Sacred Feminine within that innately knows how to co-create with Nature, as well as what to cultivate & nurture to full development. Mars rules your desire nature and your Inner Sacred Masculine, which is responsible for getting your ideas into the world, maintaining your personal boundaries and negotiating on your own behalf. When both are channeling through you in a balanced way, like now, what you create and how you move through the world becomes a beautiful dance or, at least, a much more interesting story. The trine is a blessing of ease & grace, an easy-going energy that paves the way for balance & reciprocity and encourages independence within the context of relationships. Communication is usually smooth at this time and exchanges can be mutually beneficial. Any relationships started under this influence have a good chance at success whether personal or professional.

1/12 ~ Mars Direct in GEMINI (until March 25th):
We are Initiating a New 2-year Cycle of Mental Clarity, Creativity & Consciousness – that’s what I’m calling in with my prayer work. Mars Retrograde is a special occasion and can be full of surprises. The last time it happened was in 2020, when it retrograded in ARIES. Mars Retro is rewiring your desire nature and Inner Sacred Masculine ~ in the Area of Life (House) where it lingers and this time, it is in GEMINI. Whether male or female, we all have to hold good boundaries, negotiate on our own behalf and get our ideas out into the world. You can consciously co-create with this personal planet every two years when it gets a potent upgrade, like now.

Mars represents who you are, what you want, what you deeply desire & what you are passionate about. It will spend almost 7+months (6-8 weeks is normal) moving through GEMINI, activating your mental well-being, ideas, thoughts, communication & self-expression activating an upgrade in the Gemini Dept of Life (House). Wherever this falls in your chart would be where the action is and where the energy blockages & frustrations begin to indicate that Mars is moving in a different direction than usual. It only does this every 2-years or so and it is a delicious opportunity to reset our buttons around who we are and what we really want, on an individual level. The more fluid & adaptable (around your desires) that you can be these days, the better you’ll be able to integrate the inevitable changes being stirred up for everyone. No one is exempt.

When Mars Retrogrades, it is the time to do the Inner Self-Work – to redefine what you really want and how you express the power & passion of Mars – which is how you go about getting what you want in life. It spends Aug 2022 – March 2023 in GEMINI so you may feel the Retrograde in that whatever direction you were heading in (over the last 2 years) may now be slowed or even reversed (temporarily at least), so let’s pay attention. Things that were easy may seem challenging and things that used to be challenging may now become easier or simplified. Remember, all delays & detours are not necessarily “bad”. Pay attention to the aspects of your approach to acquiring what you desire, as well as the motivations behind your desires. Always make the self-inquiry, ask yourself what you want and why you want it. The Reboot, Revision, Recalibration of Mars and your desire nature is a regular 2-year “maintenance process”. Your heart’s desires change & evolve over time, so this is your opportunity to check-in and tweak things accordingly.

You may initially feel a drop in your drive and focus or perhaps just a shift in direction, or in this case a mental fog, disorientation or confusion. This could happen for the entire Retrograde period, however, most of us have to continue forward regardless of what the planets are up to ; -) The best use of this energy is to understand that the purpose is to jolt you from the comfort zone you’ve been resting in for two years (or more) and alert you to a cycle that is renewing. What disruption did you experience in 2020, during Mars’ last Retro in ARIES? Well, this is another time where the energy is shifting in a powerful way. It could also be a wake-up call regarding what you are or are not passionate enough about. There is likely some area of your life that you have not given enough open, direct, powerful energy to and it is demanding your attention now. The last one was about your own purpose, independence & freedom and this time, it is in GEMINI for 2023, so that means what may have been more physical or literal last time is different from this time which is likely to be more mental and about your ideas, thoughts, concepts & perceptions.

Often, Mars Retrograde brings whatever you’ve suppressed, ignored or avoided to the surface to be dealt with and it won’t be denied. Be prepared to dig deep within, cleansing and clearing the old Consciousness, and thus the old thinking & obsolete ideas, which ought to open up new possibilities & freedoms for you as well. Retrogrades are about adjustment – this is a second chance to get it “right”. Review, revise – go back over – there’s something you missed the first time. As with all Retrogrades, the energy that is normally outwardly expressed becomes more inner-directed – so watch that inner self-talk and ideas that are not grounded properly to succeed. Mars is the planet of passion, action, sex, war & desire, among other things so here are some questions to consider. Now that it is going Direct, these things may become more evident, clear & ready to be done in a new & different way. Now that Mars is back to forward motion, things will slowly begin to resume, actions & choices will become slightly easier but you still want to take your time to process what has been brought into the Light for you to review since Aug 2022. What have you learned about your own Nature? Your own Desires? What you really want in your heart of hearts? Below are a few more questions to contemplate at this time which may help you delineate how things have evolved for you personally.

What do you desire at this time?
What do you passionately desire?
Or have you lost your passion?
What are really passionate about?
Have you been “passionate” about anything lately?
What have you been actively pursuing in the world?
What gets you fired-up & inspired?
What makes you angry?
Is your anger mobilizing (outrage) or paralyzing (rage) for you?
What are you willing to get started/initiate?
What are you willing to honor, defend, protect
and courageously, stand up for?

1/13 ~ Sun (core essential Self) ~sextile~ Neptune (vision & imagination):  This energy activates your ability to dissolve the ego (momentarily) and allow your SoulSelf to shine through! Your spiritual center, base or practice comes up – how is it supporting you? If you’ve gotten away from your practice, this energy will make it easier to connect to your Spirit, your intuition and the vision for your life’s purpose, at this time. You may find where your contribution is most valued, when you step outside of your Self to see how others’ needs are important. Find a need and fill it … in your own deliciously unique way, as you will be more giving & compassionate, naturally under this influence. Your physical energy may be low as a result of Neptune channeling the Sun’s Source Energy inwardly to re-charge your Spirit. Otherwise, it could be projections of all kinds, yours and other people’s as well. Best to spend some Intentional Solitude, preferably in Nature if/when/where possible.

1/13 ~ Juno Enters ARIES (until March 11th):
Juno, the Divine Consort, rules your most important relationships and what you are deeply committed to. As she moves through Aries, she is reminding everyone that you must be committed to and responsible for ~ your own Self, your choices and how you show up in your interactions with others. Identity, Sovereignty & Autonomy are up for a renewal that only comes every 4-5 years so take advantage of this opportunity to re-set your Self within the context of your primary relationships & partnerships. As you are able to do this, you will find a balance of independence & freedom within, as well as the joys & rewards of being part of a team that is good for you. Take this couple of months to reclaim who you are and what you want, at a higher level, and call in the new collaborations that will honor your Nature, your true purpose and your strongest skillset.

1/14 ~ Venus (love, finances & relationships) ~square~ Uranus (sudden change):  This is a test to grow that you cannot plan for. Venus rules your values & priorities and an activation with Uranus signifies something sudden and seemingly out-of-the-blue. Of course, this isn’t true, but it can feel that way. The truth is, it is time to do something “different” where your love, finances or relationships are concerned. Making a conscious effort to do things in a completely new way will be rewarded with a lesson & a blessing that you would’ve never considered before now. Due to new revelations happening within you, the immediate response will come from those closest to you. If you’re in relationships (personal or professional) that have reached a point where they have to change or end, this is a good time to try to discuss it openly and with as much detachment & objectivity as possible. This energy can provoke the need for excitement or stimulation in your relationships, giving you the urge to shake things up. Be aware & mindful of others’ feelings too because they may not be in the mood for such sudden change. Another expression of this energy is to get things on the table; it’s a great time to really discuss things & come to an agreement or compromise. Ultimately, this is a test of your flexibility in relationships. The more inflexible or attached to status quo that you are, the more disruptive this energy can be.

As Winter approaches, the Earth’s energy recedes into the deep dark silence to regenerate. This is the perfect time to sleep and dream, to clarify our visions and prepare for the emergence of Spring.
