As we head deeper into Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere, all the inner planets are closing in on their coming transit of Pluto, Saturn, and the rest of the outer planets. So we are closing experience at this time, with a need for balance, precision and correct focus.

Now that Mars is in Scorpio, it’s bringing pressure to those with planets in the first half of Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. Conjunctions, squares, and oppositions from Mars don’t have to be difficult, but they do challenge “right action.” Transiting Mars shows us what is agitated “out there;” it only agitates us based in the aspects it makes to our natal planets.

While Mars is associated with “fight or flight,” it also helps us keep our Spiritual Warrior in shape, reminding us we have a choice in which battles to fight and which to take a pass on. At this time, with Mars in Scorpio providing a lot of intensity wherever it is in our charts, be thoughtful and precise about what you let move you into action. Mars in its home sign provides confidence and efficiency in doing as it wants to do in its own way.

From now (Oct 17) through the end of the month, Mars will transit between 4 and 13 Scorpio. If you have Sun, Moon, or Mercury between 4-13 Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, or Aquarius, slow down, take it easy, beware of impulsive actions, and when in doubt, take a second or third look before leaping. Especially those with Mercury in that zone, no speeding tickets, arguments, or impulsive jumps into anything! Those with inner planets between 4-7 Fixed should be cautious between now and October 23. Those with inner planets between 7-10 Fixed should be cautious between October 20-28. Those with inner planets between 10-13 Fixed should be cautious Oct 25-31.

Mars will also challenge “right action” to those with Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn between 4-13 Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius. This will work out more in the social sphere. It may accompany new initiatives, turning points, things coming to surface, or the culmination of what began before. You can find out more by going to the article linked in the second paragraph.

For the rest of the month, Jupiter is helping us mobilize, or prepare to mobilize in 2024. The oppositions to Jupiter will test our ability to see the best direction for our efforts, being clear about our best interests in the future as we move beyond old deadening or limiting inert conditions. Mars leads the way to those oppositions, with the most intense period being the last 5 days of the month.

Saturn is now at 1 Pisces, the degree where it will go stationary direct in early November. This is the platform from which we launch future Saturn experiences. It has been bringing persistent pressure to bring for a productive Saturn response since March for those born the last 7-10 of February, May, August, and November, as well as all planets we may have in the last two degrees of the Fixed signs and the first 9 degrees of the Mutable signs.

Right now those born the last 11 days of February are bringing much to a close with renewal coming by March 2024. Those born the last 10 days of November are on the threshold of major home and family changes as well as the way they view the past. Those born the last 9 days of August are already changing how they relate to others with a new maturity or need for autonomy coming to surface. And those born the last 11 days of May are about to have a much higher visibility than before. This group has prepared and is about to move up and out!

Saturn is also bringing a sober look at the planets we have between 28-30 Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius, as well as 1-5 Pisces, Gemini, Virgo, and Sagittarius. Saturn brings the need for self-discipline, which usually leads to the elimination of things which are more trouble than they’re worth or which no longer fit our evolved planetary expression. Venus will be in Virgo through the first week of November, finishing the Virgo transits for the year and bringing value or appreciation related to the Grand Earth trine set into motion by Mars, Mercury, and the Sun between August and early October. Mercury and the Sun are moving through the part of Libra, which is a Yod zone, focusing the spiritual energies of Uranus sextile Neptune. And for the rest of October the Moon will transit Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Aries, Taurus and early Gemini, so take note of where that’s happening in your chart.

Major adjustments October 17-19. Superior conjunctions “fusing Life and Mind” on October 19-20 giving us a few weeks of detached sailing above the dualities. Sun and Mercury square Pluto October 19-21 requires discipline, focus, concentration, and clarity about how to use power wisely.

Venus trine Jupiter and Mercury trine Saturn October19-23 brings understanding and stability. October 24-25 should be very productive and prescient, October 26-27 brings adjustments, culminating in the Lunar Eclipse on October 28 featuring Sun conjunct Mercury and Mars opposed Moon conjunct Jupiter!
