Venus leaves its “Shadow Zone” and moves into the future. What does this mean?

As I gave you in the recent Mercury article, a planet’s “Shadow Zone” is the span of degrees between the point it goes stationary retrograde back to where it goes stationary direct. When a planet which was retrograde goes direct, it moves across the same span of degrees it did when retrograde. That is the Shadow Zone.

Venus went SRX at 22 Gemini on May 12/13. It retrograded back to 6 Gemini, where it went direct June 24/25. It’s now in forward motion and just left the boundary of its shadow zone at 22 Gemini. The past 10 weeks have given us all three looks at the house where we have that Gemini span.

Also remember that due to Venus’ cycles with the Sun, this Venus retrograde brought us echoes of the Venus retrograde period in 2012, when Venus went retrograde at 24 Gemini and direct at 8 Gemini. So in some way this gave us a review of the events of 2012, as well as 2004, when Venus went SRX at 27 Gemini and SD at 10 Gemini.

Now Venus moves forward through the last decan of Gemini and the following signs, bringing appreciation or value to events already experienced via Mercury, and then the Sun’s transits of late Gemini and Cancer. Some of what this period brought us will only be understood once Mars activates this zone in the last half of March and first 10 days of April 2021.

As Venus, what we like and what we value is now speeding up, we can expect all things related to Venus to quicken in coming weeks. From here, Venus will speed up until it catches up to the Sun at the next Superior Conjunction at 6 Aries on March 26, 2021, when we shall all begin to show a different but important facet of personality to our world.

For now, enjoy Venus moving into new areas of your chart! You now have more information about how your Gemini likes, dislikes, relationships, and interactions, and can move forward knowing what you like and why you like it. We’ve all learned the value of seeing things from multiple angles of approach, but also how empty discussions are, well, empty discussions. We’ve certainly all seen a different facet in someone we’re close to.

As it is currently in the midst of three quincunxes to the stellium in Capricorn, cultivate good Leo and Scorpio efforts while being clear about larger truths and the need for training if we’re doing a group effort with others. The creativity and heart power we generate now will serve us well in using our Gemini skills in August when the Sun and Mercury also make their sets of three quincunxes to the stellium in Capricorn.

These Gemini and Leo quincunxes help us adjust and sacrifice what we need to in order to perfect the great reorganizations and reorientations in the Capricorn sector of our charts. 2020 is when we’re building the structures we’ll operate within after the Grand Mutation of 2020 in Aquarius, which ushers in a dynamic Aquarian 20 year period when Pluto will sprout the seeds which will grow into the core magnetic force driving the external structures of the Age of Aquarius after 2050.

As Venus represents our like and relationships, I offered some potential Venus lessons which could be turned to good effects:

Venus retrograde may bring memories of old hurts and misunderstandings. However, we can use these “echoes of memories of perceptions” to re-experience old wounds and free ourselves of subconscious patterns which seduce us into suffering. Venus retrograde is a good time to take a look back and superimpose our current Self’s more mature values over old hurts or misunderstandings, short circuiting the echoes of memories of perceptions based in prior ignorance or victimization.

That some people hurt others is a reality in this impermanent world. Still, we do not have to suffer needlessly based in old emotional habits that do not serve our need for love, wisdom, veneration, compassion, and self-respect. I have found that even when these are absent, and hurtfulness is all around, by maintaining these higher values within me, I can transcend the outer conditions, and no longer struggle with those who want to suffer, or dish it out to others.

A very wise man once said words to the effect that life is painful, but we do not have to suffer. It does take courage, strength, and good will to transcend the tendency to suffer, but in releasing the habit of suffering, we take control of our magnificent eternal consciousness and are able to find a tremendous compassion and power. Using these, we are able to enter into the pain and suffering wherever we find it, and break the link between the two.

So as you move through these times, whether they are cheerful or painful for you and those you are with, try to remember that regardless of what's going on around you, we have the choice to BE however we need to be in that moment to bring forth the highest self we are able. It is that which is beyond the fluctuations of personality, and the means by which we can be the light in the darkness of this impermanent existence.
