This Full Moon is the nineteenth since the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius which launched new 20 and 200 year eras. This one distributes last month’s new “Compassionate Buddha Wisdom” for the year, promising techniques to recreate, master resistance, and move into beatitude!

I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbol. For now, let’s take a closer look at this distributive, inspired, stabilizing and expressive Lunation which will show us how to master the ability to move despite limiting conditions so that we may express our Soul through a “happy personality,” bringing a well-rounded balance in our understanding of how to utilize spiritual power in harmonic and graceful forms.

As the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, we can use the power of steering the momentum of things with courage and adaptability we’ve practiced these past two weeks and see what we need to fulfill that vision according to our heart’s desire. We can now “see the Light” of steering processes into a fulfilled vision of the core of our intention.

The Sun in Air and the Moon in Fire shows a time of the Mutable Air (distributive relatedness and interactivity) of Gemini expressing its curiosity through the Mutable Fire (distributive inspiration) of Sagittarius. This chart begins a run of Full Moon themes of getting clear on the emotional and social levels of our existence.

In this chart, 2 planets are in the first third of their signs, 3 planets are in the second third of their signs, and FIVE planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a heavy emphasis on the individual, mental, and spiritual levels of life, with a balance between the emotional and social and actional-material levels of life. This will be an extraordinarily spiritual focus for two weeks!

Why Are Full Moons So Important?

At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.

That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.

Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. All the inner planets are now done with their run of oppositions to the outer planets. This chart has only one opposition creating one axis of “the Tension of Opposites.” We have the Moon opposed Sun generating awareness around 22-26 of Gemini/Sagittarius, making them the drivers of our “awareness generator” for the coming two weeks.

Because we have Saturn, Neptune, and Pluto all at the end of their signs, every Full Moon opposition in the last decan of their signs has made special evolutionary configurations with these spiritual heavyweight planets. This year alone we’ve had Full Moons at 28 Cancer/Capricorn, 28 Leo/Aquarius, 28 Virgo/Pisces, 27 Libra/Aries, and 26 Scorpio/Taurus. The run will continue in July at 22 Capricorn/Cancer and August at 20 Aquarius/Leo.

All of these created configurations with Neptune and Pluto in the first 6 months of the year. Jupiter conjuncted Neptune from the March Equinox through the second week of May, so it too figured into the Full Moon configurations in those months, and when Saturn entered the last decan of Aquarius in early March, it too created configurations with each successive Full Moon since then, and will remain in play through the August Full Moon since it configures in the “Axis of Awareness.”

Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?

The Sun is in Gemini, making Mercury its ruler, and the Moon is in Sagittarius, making Jupiter its ruler. Mercury is in its home sign of Gemini, so it rules itself. Jupiter is in Aries, making Mars its ruler. Mars is in its home sign of Aries, so it too rules itself. This month we have the highly rare event of having FIVE planets in their home signs, and therefore they are all final dispositors who are quite at home in their expression.

Besides these, So the Sun and Mercury are ruled by Mercury; Venus and Uranus are ruled by Venus; Jupiter and Mars are ruled by Mars; Saturn is in Aquarius, its home sign, so it too rules itself as well as Pluto. As usual, Neptune is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself. So this month we have five final dispositors ruling all the planets.

By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon

This Full Moon falls at 24 Gemini and 24 Sagittarius. It is said that the last third (decan) of any sign deals with the individual, mental, and spiritual levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the third decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Aquarius and Leo.

Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.

The Solar Sabian symbol for the 24th degree of Gemini is “Children skating on ice.” In the original Jones class notes published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this is a degree of “capacity to use every opportunity, even in the hardest of environments, for self-recreation or relaxation” and “appreciation.”

In The Astrological Mandala, he goes on to say that this degree symbolizes “the use of inhibiting circumstances for the development of character and a transcendent approach to the environment.” He says this symbol of Winter has associations with “restrictions imposed… by cold,” where “life is in a state of … inward-turned activity,” but also that “the developing mind can learn to use restrictions and the disciplining power of “cold” external responses to rise about the outer “freeze” and to grow in strength and skill.”

He offers that we learn “rhythmic freedom” (“skating”) by using the most binding situations (“ice”) to demonstrate (our) transcendent capacity for pleasure and self-mobilization.” He states this is a mental technique, because we can triumph over inertia using our mind, and offers this is about “triumph over entropy.” He says this degree falls in the Span of Restlessness, Act of Differentiation, and Scene of Exteriorization on the Emotional-Social level.

Dr. Jones says this is a degree of “the persisting imminence of adventure in experience,” and the danger “in failing to sustain or order the complex of things as they are.” He speaks of “the value of an established reality as a foundation for further refinement of personal capacity and skill,” and that “the satisfaction of a successful self-expression always must remain a dynamic impetus to further achievement, and so never become a static aplomb or a surrender” to less than our best.

He offers us the keyword FUN. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is “soul-satisfying experiment in the infinitely varying channels of possible self-discovery.”

The Lunar Sabian Symbol for the 24th degree of Sagittarius is "A bluebird standing at the door of the house.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this degree is one of “the blessings bestowed upon all those who are true to themselves,” “unexpected assistance,” “happiness,” and “sheer good fortune.”

In his Astrological Mandala, he offers that this degree offers us “the reward which meets every effort at integration into a social environment for those who remain true to their own selves.” He says the bluebird is a symbol of happiness and “a spiritually oriented mind.” Houses are both symbols of our personality, as well as structures which are part of a community.

He continues “the implication is that its inhabitants are well-adapted, either to the life of the community, or to their … togetherness.” He says that this is a technique for “successful living” where we develop “a consciousness in which peace and happiness dwell.” The offers “there is also a hint that good fortune is going to bless your life,” and states this degree this degree falls in the Span of Detachment in the Act of Group-Integration, and is the technical degree on the emotional-social level of the Scene of Transference.

Dr. Jones says this degree is about “the persisting imminence of real rewards in experience,” and our need “to see and welcome them.” He speaks of “the need for a conscious worthiness of selfhood as the foundation for any self-fulfillment” and our need to capitalize “on the opportunities to be found in everyday reality.”

He offers “there must be a creative alertness to the signs and portents by which the world speaks to (us), or else all personality is lost in an eventual nonentity.” He offers us the keyword FORTUNE, and states when operating in a positive manner, this degree is one of “radiant good will and an ingratiating proficiency of self-interest.”

From these symbols it seems we can see the Light of having fun refining our skills for self-recreation, or recreation, expressed through happiness. Here the Light of a social or emotional skill takes shape as a consciousness of our worth, and expresses through a radiant good will and expanding joy of integrated relationships. This is the Light of Fun expressing through the Form of Fortune!

As with the last several Full Moons, important transformations helping us see a deeper Mystery are evoked by this Lunation. This opens up new discoveries while releasing our heart power in precise, functional service. With Mars exactly conjunct Chiron, don’t hesitate to embrace healing modes, as well as a greater sensitivity with the invisible world and the helpers we have there. The “seeker has turned warrior,” and many will experience very high and even ecstatic states of consciousness. Keep doing your own thing in your own way, search for the “practical fellowship of service” integrated by this Full Moon, and dance free and easy, having fun with others who are part of our Soul-group.

We’re in an Era of Overlapping Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles

As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March 2020 which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape.

That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! The wave that began April 2020 and was given wings in December has taken clearer shape during the time Saturn occupied 7-14 Aquarius in 2021. During early 2021, Jupiter gave us an expansive view of all of Aquarius, and then passed through the Transfiguration Zone in late April and early May, again in early August when retrograde, and a final time in December, giving us three different experiences of “graduation into a new realm of Being” transforming our lives so we can see how we are related to other Light Beings in the collective field. We now get to enter a new promise of how we fit into the whole.

TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption

At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)

In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,

The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on Earth

From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to Earth

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serve

From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
