- Sabian Symbols Showing the Light of Abundance
Expressed Through the Power of the Personality-

This Full Moon is the sixteenth since the December 2020 Solstice conjunction of Jupiter and Saturn at 1 Aquarius which launched new 20 and 200 year eras. We’re headed into the future!

I’ll speak more about the bigger picture after the Sabian Symbol. For now, let’s take a closer look at this visionary, purifying, truth-revealing and compassionate Full Moon.

As the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, we can use the “directed spiritual will power” we’ve practices these past two weeks and demonstrate our individual blessings and gifts. We can now “see the Light” of how where we’re at is somehow perfect for where we need to be, blessing, releasing, and forgiving much because of how strong we are.

The Sun in Water and the Moon in Earth shows a time of the Mutable Water (distributive feeling flow of experience) of Pisces expressing its unifying Light through the Mutable Earth (distributive practical service) of Virgo. As all the planets are still at maximum compression, we continue to be squeezed in many ways, with everything converging in the part of our chart between late Capricorn and late Taurus. This is a tremendously Aquarius and Pisces focused chart which must find forms of expression through an individual, mental, and spiritual service and compassion in community with our Spiritual Brothers and Sisters.

In this chart, 1 planet is in the first third of their signs, 4 planets are in the second third of their signs, and 5 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a heavy emphasis on the individual, mental, and spiritual levels of life, almost as much emphasis on the emotional and social levels, and not much in the way of the actional-material levels of life. This will be an extraordinarily social-spiritual focus for two weeks!

Why Are Full Moons So Important?

At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.

That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.

Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. All the inner planets are now done with their run of oppositions to the outer planets. This chart has only one opposition creating one axis of “the Tension of Opposites.” We have the Moon opposed Sun generating awareness around 26-30 of Pisces/Virgo, making them the drivers of our “awareness generator” for the coming two weeks.

Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?

The Sun is in Pisces, making Jupiter its worldly ruler and the Moon is in Virgo, making Mercury its ruler. Jupiter is in Pisces, its home sign, showing that Jupiter is on center stage with Saturn, given those are two of the three final dispositors affecting all the other planets.

The Moon is ruled by Mercury; Mercury and the Sun in Pisces are ruled by Jupiter. Venus, Mars, Uranus and Pluto are ruled by Saturn. Neptune, as usual, is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself.

By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon

This Full Moon falls at 28 Pisces and 28 Virgo. It is said that the last third (decan) of any sign deals with the individual, mental, and spiritual levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the third decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Scorpio and Taurus.

Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.

The Solar Sabian symbol for the 28th degree of Pisces is “A fertile garden under the full moon.” In the original notes from the Marc Jones class on the symbols published in The Astrology of Personality, Rudhyar says this degree is one of “normally unnoticed powers released at the fruition of natural processes,” “call of universal mind to the heart,” and “fullness.”

In the Astrological Mandala he goes on to say this is a degree of “the full satisfaction of the individual’s basic needs,” where “what is stressed now is not the full moon itself or its light, but the moon’s power to call forth the instinctive urge for growth.” He say the garden is a metaphor for a place where many things are grown “to fill an equal variety of human needs and tastes.”

He states it’s “a symbol of abundance, an abundance fitted to individualized requirements and wants.” This degree falls in the Span of Protection, and is the third, or synthesizing degree, of the Act of Capitalization in the Scene of Perpetuation on the individual-mental level.

Dr. Marc E Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “a simple satisfaction through outer rather than inner manifestations of reality, or of a normal self-dedication to purely conventional accomplishment.” He says we are blessed when we are “more the average than the exceptional,” since we find others more of service in the former than the latter.

He continues that our struggles show our commonality in which “the race survives,” and in our “archetypal make-up there is room to salvage all the failures and embody all the contributions of the far more lonely genius.” He gives us the keyword ULTIMACY, and states when operating in a positive manner, this is a degree of “high reward in worldly goods and exceptional self-integrity in using them.”

The Lunar Sabian Symbol for the 28th degree of Virgo is “A bald headed man.” According to Rudhyar’s notes from the Marc Jones class, this degree symbolizes the “Driving power of real personality in moments of crisis,” “capacity for hard work,” and “compelling manifestation of inner self.”

In The Astrological Mandala” he goes on to say this is a degree of “the sheer power of personality in times that call for decision.” He offers that at every level of life activities, there are times when obsolete patterns and structures must be challenged, and this is when “catabolic personages emerge to seize power and dictate decisions that alter the structures of society; or within an individual life, an intense urge for cathartic changes mobilizes the will, and traumatic decision are made.”

He says in this symbol “we face the unpostponable necessity for decision and transformation,” and everything is in motion. He states “no static formation … can remain long unchallenged,” and here we see “the power of the will” manifest. He states this degree falls in the Span of Experimentation, Act of Stabilization, and is the technical degree of the Scene of Education on the Individual-Mental level.

Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “a simple satisfaction in the inner rather than outer manifestations of reality,” where we are challenged to see personal attainment as a means to greater spiritual awareness. He states we are “not called on to make (ourselves) a scourge of (our) fellows any more than (we are) to be encouraged to neglect them, but there are illimitable areas in which the driving power of (our) personality can create or advance widespread opportunities for a richer and more enjoyable living.”

He offers us the keyword DOMINANCE. He states that when operating in a positive way, this degree is “accomplishment through a completeness of self-mastery and a rigid control of others.”

From these symbols it seems we can see the Light of learning to appreciate our abundance and find satisfaction in a normal fulfillment of self in some activity which yields “a good harvest.” This will be expressed through the power of the personality to come forth in moments of crisis and decision and the power of the will in shaping outer events. We can now see the Light of self-mastery that helps us take charge of situations.

Entering A New Era Blending Capricorn and Aquarius Cycles

As you know by now, we had numerous important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March 2020, including a 12 year cycle and a 33 year cycle! Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto all made conjunctions in Capricorn in January and March which were activated by Mars in March 2020. Mars completed its run at its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius which also set long wave preliminary Aquarian structures into play which are expanding and currently taking shape.

That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies expanded which will show effects over the next decade! The wave that began April 2020 and was given wings in December has taken clearer shape during the time Saturn occupied 7-14 Aquarius in 2021. During early 2021, Jupiter gave us an expansive view of all of Aquarius, and then passed through the Transfiguration Zone in late April and early May, again in early August when retrograde, and a final time in December, giving us three different experiences of “graduation into a new realm of Being” transforming our lives so we can see how we are related to other Light Beings in the collective field. Now we get to say goodbye as we prepare to move into a deeper sense of how we fit into the whole.

At the 2020 World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)

In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,

The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on Earth

From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to Earth

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serve

From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
