This is the final Sun conjunct Pluto in Capricorn!

This puts an illuminated focus on the transformational seed forms represented by Pluto at the final degree of Capricorn, and promises the emergence of power players in 2024, both good and bad. Couple that with the other aspects in the title, and it's a good time to get clear about many things so we can prepare for the very heavy Summer ahead!

The Sabian Symbol for 30 Capricorn is “A secret business conference.” In the Astrology of Personality, where Rudhyar uses the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, he states this degree is one of "activity of inner formative elements of real personality,” “massing of soul energies in an emergency,” and “spiritual leadership.”

In The Astrological Mandala he states this is a symbol of “the power to assume responsibility for crucial choices arrived at after mature discussions with those who share this power.” He explains how this is a metaphor for all hierarchical processes which must be directed in a conscious responsible way, including our lives and our world.

He says in this symbol we see “the culmination of social responsibility and a reference to executive power.” Rudhyar states this degree falls in the span of Dependence, and is the final degree in the Act of Capitalization and the Scene of Group Performance on the Individual Spiritual level of life.

Dr. Marc Edmund Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, says this is a degree of “human relations as … the product of current activities and attitudes, and of a determination to capitalize on any given situation through effective allegiances.” He continues “the emphasis here is on (our) desire for an inner circle of associates through whom (we) may exercise a real control over immediate eventualities, and on (our) realization that in this fashion (we) may monopolize” resources.”

He says the keyword is OPPORTUNITY. He states that when operating in a positive way, this degree is “a gift for clever planning and successful administration in every area of life.”

From this symbol it seems the specific theme of this yearly conjunction is about responsible action within a group power operation, where decisions are made influencing future developments of the larger whole, and “capitalizing on situations” with people who are part of our inner circle.

So this conjunction will intensify everything through January 22. Coming in on the weekend we also see the very favorable Mercury at 7 Capricorn trine Jupiter at 7 Taurus. This harmonizes our Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces sectors in a harmony between the lower mind and the Higher Mind, helping us find revelations of a higher nature. This will be very favorable for planets we have near 4-10 Cancer, Virgo, Scorpio, Capricorn, Pisces, and Taurus. That said, if you have something near 5-9 Capricorn, Aries, Cancer, or Libra show a little restraint as you turn a major corner relative to that planet!

This weekend we also have Venus square Neptune, showing the need for clarity in both relationships and higher ideals. This aspect can be misleading or inspiring, and requires that we demonstrate good Gemini and Virgo skills (making the Mercury trine Jupiter even more important!) Make thoughtful adjustments, don’t worry if you seem to be running in a direction contrary to the conventional thinking around you, and stay focused on essentials as you are led into a world of “transcendent activity” which you may not understand but which requires your attention and service.

All in all these three aspects, all in play from now through next Monday, show intensification, a culmination of old values and likes, and a time when a simple practical understanding will show us the way we’re going, whether it looks like that or not. Enjoy the ride, as Pluto’s about to re-enter Aquarius and give even more power to the Aquarian ideals in play since 2020!
