- Sabian Symbols Showing the Light of Attunement
Expressed In A Quest for Understanding -

This Full Moon is the tenth one since the Grand Mutation waveform was activated at the end of March, and the first since that conjunction launched a new long term era! We’re headed into the future!

Remember that we had several extraordinarily important long wave conjunctions in January 2020 which were set into motion in March. All the conjunction points made by Sun, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, and Pluto in January and March were activated by Mars in March, and its conjunction with Saturn at 1 Aquarius set structures into play which will last for many years.

That “Great Compression” of planets in early 2020 created a very crowded house in a very narrow span of degrees, impacting the houses where we have late Capricorn for many years to come. Add the three conjunctions of Jupiter with Pluto as it transited back and forth over the January and March degree points, and we’ve had a lot of long wave Pluto energies tremendously expanded which will show effects over the next decade! As the Full Moon fulfills the themes of the previous New Moon, we now can take the energies of the “bluebird of happiness alights on the gate of our life” we’ve been experiencing since the New Moon Solar Eclipse and now can re-focus through a Capricorn-Cancer lens. This one helps us hear our invisible helpers on our quest for deeper, yet more elementary, understanding of life’s mysteries. Keep going deeper into your connection to Self, others, and Source, and you will find a balanced joy of experience and expression .

Saturn continues to be incredibly powerful as it moves into Aquarius and now occupies the same degree of its retrograde station last May, “a cosmic visitation” which “galvanizes us into action through spectacular developments” which will “liberate us from adverse conditions.” This will make it clear why we had to begin to mobilize in April, since the wave is taking us on the ride of a lifetime!

Again, be joyous as you move into the new era, since as time flows on our new world will not look anything like our old one. A greater balance is being restored after the extreme conflicts and oppressive structures of the past year. Allow the favorable Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius to remove all which would block your happiness, and you will find yourself lighter and brighter for the experience.

The Sun in Earth and the Moon in Water shows a time of the Cardinal Earth (practical initiatives) of Capricorn expressing its need for organized effective action through the Cardinal Water (active feelings) of Cancer. As all the planets are beginning maximum compression, this is still a tremendously Earthy chart which must find forms of expression through caring, nurturing, and/or decisions which further security and realignment with a larger sense of caring.

In this chart, 5 planets are in the first third of their signs, 3 planets are in the second third of their signs, and 2 planets are in the last third of their signs. This indicates a heavy emphasis on the actional-material levels of life, a “normal” emphasis on the social/emotional levels, with a slightly diminished emphasis on the individual, mental, and spiritual levels.

Why Are Full Moons So Important?

At a Full Moon, that which has opened since the previous New Moon surfaces in a public form, and heads toward the culmination and fruition symbolized by the second half of any cycle. First half, birth into form and field. Second half, culmination and completion of the purpose of that cycle.

That’s why it’s important to regard the New and Full Moon charts as “God’s Footprints in Time,” since one follows the other in an unending sequence of births of newer and newer seeds. The New Moons show us the seeds that will flourish under the reflected light of the Full Moon.

Full Moons heighten feelings, due to the opposition of the Moon and the Sun. We’re now done with all transit to transit oppositions other than those made by the Moon, until the next run begins when Mars opposes Pluto in June 2021. That means the evolutionary “Tension of Opposites” in this Eclipse spans 8-16 Capricorn and Cancer, which gives us a wide but focused field of awareness involving Moon, Sun, and Mercury, as they are the only planets in opposition.

Dispositors - What's the Backdrop to the Energies?

The Sun is in Capricorn, making Saturn in Aquarius its worldly ruler and Uranus in Taurus its spiritual ruler. The Moon in Cancer is in its home sign, so is its own worldly ruler with the Sun as its spiritual ruler. That makes Saturn and the Moon the “powers behind the scenes” in this Lunation.

This Eclipse returns us to four “final dispositors” ruling all the other planets. The Sun, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Uranus, and Pluto are ruled by Saturn in Aquarius; The Moon rules itself, Mars rules itself, and Neptune, as usual, is a “standalone” planet, ruling itself. That means the rulerships are spread out this month between final dispositors Moon, Mars, Saturn, and Neptune, with Saturn clearly dominant. A final dispositor is a planet in one of its “home signs,” or the signs it rules.

By looking at how “chains of dispositors,” “final dispositors,” and “mutual reception” are in play between the planets, we get a clear picture of the backdrop for how each planet operates. The Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon

This Full Moon falls at 9 Capricorn and 9 Cancer. It is said that the first third (decan) of any sign deals with the actional, material, and physical levels of life, and as the Lunation is in the first decan of those signs, invokes a sub-influence of Capricorn and Cancer.

Since the Moon always focuses the light of the Sun in specific forms, the degree symbols for both are important. The Sun degree is the illumination or enlightenment of the Lunation, whereas the Moon shows us the potential forms that enlightenment will take. Though I’ve given you a sense of what this is about up to now, here’s where we go into detail.

The Solar degree symbol for the 9th degree of Capricorn is "An angel carrying a harp.” In the Astrology of Personality, where Rudhyar uses the original Dr. Jones' class notes on the symbols, 9 Cap is said to be a symbol of “the basic harmony of fulfilled selfhood” and “realizing harmony in everyday life through detached and lofty understanding.”

In The Astrological Mandala, he says this degree involves “the revelation of the spiritual meaning and purpose at the core of any life situation.” He offers that “this picture simply says that ‘heaven is within us.’ All we have to do is to be open and listen to the total harmony of life, a harmony in which we play a part that is necessary to the completeness and meaning of the whole.”

He continues that to find this, we must “surrender our separative ego-consciousness and flow with the universal current” showing us the Path Spirit is revealing to us. He tells us this is a technique “of attunement to the rhythm of universal life. Angels are … considered personalizations of various aspects of this life, and totally subservient to its rhythms and purposes. He says it falls in the span of Illusiveness, and it’s the technical degree of the emotional-cultural level of the scene of Crystallization in the Act of Capitalization.

According to Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, the degree is one of “the eternal and unabated interest of the human spirit in the simple potentialities of experience, and of the unconditioned enthusiasm of all human motives in their original inception.” He says this provides “a continuing sense of spiritual source as it pervades (human) consciousness, enabling (us) to avoid the limitations in any given situation” to achieve slef-fulfillment.

He tells us “there is an over-all harmony of which each individual remains essentially a part,” and offers us the keyword ATTUNEMENT. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is "a special gift for inspiring others to accomplishment and for realizing the ultimate dreams of self as a consequence.”

So the Light of the next two weeks involves learning techniques of attuning to our invisible helpers, finding harmony of fulfilled selfhood in higher understanding, and best of all, can surrender our “separative ego-consciousness” and learn to flow with the Divine Will. Open to the Light of attuning with the Higher Law of the moment. This is a degree of inspiring others and being inspired by others, so see what’s opening on the social, emotional, or cultural level in your life, accept your power to make a constructive difference, and enjoy focusing your will power, backed by courage, to find the harmony possible in each moment.

The Lunar degree symbol for the 9th degree of Cancer is “A tiny nude miss reaching in the water for a fish.” According to Rudhyar’s notes from the Marc Jones class, this degree is one of "first curiosity of being; innocent reaching out for understanding,” “untiring eagerness,” and “unsocial or infantile cravings.”

In The Astrological Mandala, he says this degree is “the first naïve quest for knowledge and for an ever-elusive understanding of life,” where the girl “symbolizes the innocent and spontaneous mind … unclothed in cultural patterns and unrestrained by don’ts, trying to satisfy its curiosity about what seems mysterious and fleeting.” He offers the pond is the mind “with a limited scope of consciousness.”

He continues that here we confront “the nascent curiosity about knowledge, a curiosity which makes the little mind reach out in spontaneity, rather than merely imitate the elders” (the previous symbol). He states this symbol is of value “in simply reaching out with a pure and unconditioned mind to the most elementary experiences which natural life offers to us,” and tells us the “key here is purity in understanding.” It is said to fall in the Span of Expansion, and is the technical degree of the social-cultural level in the Scene of Decision in the Act of Stabilization.

Dr. Jones, creator of the Sabian Symbols, states this degree is about “the eternal and unsullied freshness of soul as it enters every new experience with an unabated enthusiasm and thereby both substantiates its divine estate and brings enduring significance to whatever it may touch.” He says this is “an absolute lack of inhibition” which enables us “to grasp the reins of control in every realm” we make our own, “and the unquenched and simple curiosity which virtually makes it impossible” for any potential to escape us.

He offers us the keyword INCLINATION. He states that when operating in a positive manner, this degree is an “ingratiating and irresistible capacity for self-expression.”

From these symbols it seems the next two weeks we’ll see the Light of techniques of claiming power on the emotional or social level expressed through a quest for understanding which arouses our enthusiasm, enabling us to leave behind our inhibitions and “grasp the reins of control in every realm.” Here the light of our contact with our “spiritual source” leads to inspiration and greater accomplishment which in turn will lead us to even greater self-expression.

TransPluto, Divine Mother, and the Tests of Human Redemption

I’ve included this section for many years to keep you all aware of the workings of Divine Mother on our Earth in this Age in Transition. Rather than simply reprint it each month, I created this material as a separate article unto itself a while back which I’ll be updating soon. At the last World Teacher Full Moon of Sun in Gemini and Moon in Sagittarius I gave you a universal prayer/meditation offered to us by the Tibetan Master D.K. in April 1945 at the end of the war. Tens of millions around the world do this prayer every Full Moon, tuning into the Whole which we ALL are together. I said it every day for many years, and still say it every Full Moon. (It was a real trip to see eyes suddenly open and/or lightbulbs go on over people’s heads when I did it countless times riding the NYC subways when I lived there in the early 80s!)

In 1976 I changed a few words to make it more universal. For your consideration,

The Great Invocation

From the point of Light within the mind of God
Let Light stream forth into the minds of All,
Let Light descend on Earth

From the point of Love within the heart of God
Let Love stream forth into the hearts of All
May Christ return to Earth

From the center where the Will of God is known
Let Purpose guide the little Wills of All
The Purpose which the Masters know and serve

From the center which we call the Human Race
Let the Plan of Love and Light work out
And may it seal the door where evil dwells.

Let Light and Love and Power restore the Plan on Earth.

Again, as I’ve offered you many times before, when you see the title "The Christ" if you are so inclined please substitute "World Teacher," "Bodhisattva," "Imam Madhi," "Krishna," “Kristos,” "Avalokiteshvara," "Maitreya," "Messiah," or any other term used to describe this Great Being. And if you substitute “Enlightened Ones” or “Wise Ones” for “Masters” I doubt it would offend anyone.
