Message for October 2020
As we continue to turn towards the depths of our souls in order to yield to a deeper sense of connection, there is a sense of fracture and chaos around us as the world twists and turns with uncertainty. Yet, at the same time, there is a growing sense of peace and clarity surfacing as more of us are allowing our deepening spiritual connection to grow exponentially. The words to describe or define this spiritual connection are still surfacing as it feels slightly nebulous as the more we try to make sense of this period of awakening, the more complicated it becomes. However, when we pause and take a breath, we realise that it’s also becoming simpler and clearer as well. So, it’s not surprising if we feel caught in the middle of a conundrum of paradoxes, of spiralling complexity and simplicity, facture and peace.
Life has never been straightforward, and although there is great uncertainty in the world now, there is also a growing sense of clarity, purpose and vision. It’s as though the chaos has awoken strength and stirred inaction into purpose. In many ways there is nothing we need to ‘do’ as this is about a state of being; a way of living. It can be frustrating when we don’t have clarity in terms of answers to the many questions we have about life, but it can also be an opportunity for leaning into the uncertainty in order to grow and evolve.
None of us can never know exactly what resides around the next corner in life. We can try to avoid turning the corner or walking the other way, but this only delays the inevitable. We tend to see time as a linear force, but we can’t put the brakes on the great big clock of life as it ticks whether we’re ready for it or not. In essence, it’s important to live in the moment and to embrace life as wholeheartedly as possible. It’s important to embrace the inevitability of the uncertainty and to channel this towards living more consciously and more courageously.
Turning to face the depths within takes courage and belief, strength and wisdom, and it also involves facing the many barriers within that we have previously placed there to protect or defend ourselves. Those barriers are not indestructible or impenetrable unless we want them to be, and when we yield to a deeper connection, we step beyond those barriers and boundaries, and feel a part of something much bigger and more glorious than we could ever imagine. There are no words to define this as language gives structure to something without structure, it just is; we connect, and we become…
Of course, we can’t just forget about those barriers within as we often need to heal and re-shape our beliefs. We need to learn to be tender and loving towards ourselves and to honour our pain rather than trying to push it away as it’s made us who we are today. It’s time for each of us to find ways to bring balance to mind, body and soul; to nourish ourselves from the inside, out and to allow this love and compassion to flow freely from our hearts and souls.
We need to learn how to find peace in every moment, to live with the clutter and distraction of modern living but to not allow it to erode and corrode our true selves. Now more than ever we need to find ways of living simply, joyfully and lovingly as we focus on the things that truly matter. It’s not about things to do, people to see or places to go, it’s surely more about how we feel, how we live and how we interact? Isn’t it about being happy, being peaceful and embracing life? About loving, honouring and being compassionate? It’s time to let the lights of our souls shine brightly. It is time to be open and to be true…
I wish you all kinds of wonderful.
As you continue to seek out some breathing space, there is a sense that you are beginning to see the bigger picture when it comes to the different threads that have woven their way into your life. Each thread represents a person, a dynamic, a role or responsibility, and each one has its own energy, essence and power in your life. Some of these threads enhance and enrich you, but there are quite a few that deplete and tether you. You give so much of yourself to others, trying to be everything to everyone and trying to be the best you can be, that you have, over time, lost sight of your intuitive awareness when it comes to knowing when to draw a line or step away. It’s not easy saying no to others, particularly when you have spent so much of your time trying to do the ‘right’ thing. Yet, the time has come for you to look at the great big tapestry of your life in order to take note of the dropped stitches and the fuzzy areas where the pattern has gone array.
Of course, life is often about meandering along and discovering new terrain; it’s also about learning to love your quirks, idiosyncrasies and dropped stitches, yet, when you look at the tapestry you realise just how much the picture has been guided by ought’s, must’s and should’s rather than by your own phenomenal creative and intuitive prowess. You seem ready now to re-affirm your true priorities and to re-focus on the bigger picture you want to create. This is your life and it’s time to live it your way. It’s time now to breathe more deeply in order to re-connect to your true self and to let your inner light shine brightly…
The theme of reflection continues throughout October as you are encouraged to listen to yourself, love yourself and honour yourself on every level of your life. You have spent a long time giving your time, energy, resources and spirit to others: you have offered support even when you’ve felt without foundation, you’ve offered love when you’ve felt empty and cold inside, and you’ve given of yourself even when you’ve been depleted and exhausted. It’s your way to be the rock and the lighthouse; to be the support that’s the dependable and reliable one, and you have taken this role very deeply within your heart and soul. In some ways you have taken it too deeply as you’ve lost sight of the spirit of this role as being the lighthouse is dependent on your own well-being, foundations and sense of self. You cannot shine a light for others if you have no light left to shine?
Once again it seems a pivotal time to take some deep, life-affirming breaths, to pause for a while and then contemplate what you truly want from life. What makes your heart sing? What brings you joy? Whilst you will always be the lighthouse/rock for others, it’s time now to be this for yourself in order to re-establish your own foundations and to re-connect to your heart and soul. You are going through a period of shift which involves a need to let go of preconceptions and stale beliefs in order to embrace a new way of living and being. Think about your inner light shining brightly and contemplate what you need in your life to shine brightly for yourself. This isn’t selfish or self-focused, it’s necessary as you’re ready now to live more wholeheartedly and to shine with love, compassion and joy…
As you continue to take some big, deep breaths, there is a sense that you are beginning to feel a stronger sense of balance in your life. It’s as though the many different aspects of your world are merging together into something more coalescent and whole. This has been a long-time coming as you have been scattered and fragmented throughout space and time for quite a while; it’s as though your consciousness is here, there and everywhere all at the same time. Whilst this may sound confusing, in many ways, this is how you live each and every day, it’s just that most of the time you don’t notice your far-reaching awareness as it’s so engrained in your psyche, a bit like breathing or digestion. More recently though your awareness of your own awareness has come into the spotlight so you can see exactly how you function, and this has felt a tad overwhelming and confusing, as you’ve had times when you’ve felt as though you were literally unravelling.
As a result of this shift in awareness you have stepped back from a great deal of the ‘clutter’ and distraction in your life in order to find some space to think about your new discovery and this has given you some much needed breathing space to seek out wisdom, understanding and a new sense of knowing. Although it’s still you, you’re changed, renewed and refreshed, as though you are now more aware of yourself, the universe and everything in between. October is a time to nourish yourself on all levels, to breathe deeply and to find the joy of living a more awakened and connected life: friendships feel richer, hobbies feel more rewarding and being in nature sets your senses alight. You’re ready to live more consciously…
Your path to joy continues to take centre stage throughout October as you contemplate the aspects of your life that nourish you and the ones that deplete you. It’s often hard for you to think about upsetting the apple cart in order to bring about change, but there is a sense that you are both eager and ready to open up to new ways of living more vibrantly and in accordance to your hopes and dreams. Whilst you take great pride in taking care of the apple cart, you’re not adverse to turning those apples into a wholesome apple pie or even some cider! In other words, it’s time to get creative with what you have in order to find some new ways of re-shaping and re-defining your dreams. When obstacles appear it’s easy to feel thwarted, but you have the creativity and innovation to find new ways to deal with these obstacles in order to turn them into opportunities for learning rather than brick walls or dead ends.
You seem ready now to sort out the wheat from the chaff in terms of your true priorities. Of course, some of these are immovable features in your life (responsibilities, duties etc.), but it’s important to explore why you do what you do in order to find peace with your choices and to find the wiggle room to breathe deeply into your hopes and dreams. So, it’s time to let go a little, to have less clutter in your life, to create space and to allow the light of your soul to shine brightly in order to give new life to your dreams. You have the wisdom to not only find new ways of processing those apples, but you also have the skill to grow new fruit as well. In other words, let your imagination fly free…
It’s easy for you to become lost in the maze of distractions of things to do, people to see, places to go and things to achieve. You can become surrounded by ‘to do’ lists and ‘to do’ lists of ‘to do’ lists creating layers of clutter that choke the creativity from your soul. Of course, there are always things to do, but it seems important that you step back a little in order to see how many different directions you are being pulled in at any one time. Variety is the spice of life, but when that variety becomes fragmenting and discombobulating then you know that it’s time to create some change. In some ways distraction has become your friend as it takes you away from the need to take a closer look at the bigger picture of your life including those dreams, goals and hopes that have sat on the shelf gathering dust for so long. Whilst you know they’re there, it’s easy to get lost in distraction as it keeps them out of arms reach, but why would you want them out of reach?
The most likely explanation is that you’re so busy trying to do so much that you simply don’t have the time or the head space to accommodate things like dreams or hopes. This may sound a bit daft, after all, they are your hopes and dreams, but it’s a good sign that things are out of kilter when you feel too under pressure to connect to your heart and soul. October is a time for you to nourish your soul, to re-connect to your dreams and to step more consciously into life. This is your life, and every moment matters. Getting lost in the haze of busy-ness keeps you distracted, but is that truly what your heart desires…
As you continue to ponder the bigger picture and the finer details, there is a sense of a growing awareness rising up from your heart and soul. This awareness feels exciting and liberating; it’s as though you are looking at your life with fresh eyes and a fresh perspective, and nothing seems the same anymore. You are finding the time to inhale more wholeheartedly into each moment, and to exhale with just as much awareness and intent. As a result, you are living more consciously and more in tune with your creativity, vibrant compassion and powerful intuition. It may feel as though the world has just woken up and everything feels sharper and more in focus, the colours are brighter, the sounds are clearer, and the fragrances linger more willingly in the air. Yet, the world hasn’t just awoken, you have!
You have stepped into a new chapter and you are beginning to re-shape your connection to life which is opening up your senses more and allowing you to connect more deeply and consciously. It’s as though you have reached a stage of your life where you are more willing to let go of the bowlines and to have faith in the currents to carry you forth. This is quite a step into new terrain for a deep thinker like you, as you feel more comfortable having maps and a compass to navigate with, but you seem content to trust the flow for at least a little while. Of course, you still want to make sense of everything, but try to let your intuition run free as it’s leading you towards pastures new as you contemplate your true priorities in life. So, breathe into this and allow yourself to naturally move into a more balanced space. It’s time to let go, trust and become…
As you continue to seek out ways to untangle the complexity of your life, there is a sense that you are beginning to find a tiny bit of breathing space to rest, ponder and contemplate what on earth has been going on as you’ve been so busy, so rushed and so overflowing with things to do, people to see, places to go and to do lists to complete! And now you find yourself reading these words but you’re not quite sure how you got from over there to here. The journey of your life has been on fast forward for quite some time and you have been buzzing around almost on autopilot. There has been precious little time to think about what you’re doing, why, when or with whom as you have been almost completely overwhelmed.
When you step back, many of the things that have preoccupied your time actually underwhelm you in terms of interest or stimulation, but they were necessary facets of your journey. You are now beginning to see the woods for the trees when it comes to what’s important and what isn’t. It’s as though you needed to become completely overwhelmed and overburdened in order to sort the wheat from the chaff when it comes to your true priorities. Your life has been out of balance for years, but you’re used to accommodating being out of balance as you’re a master of adjustment. It’s only now that you’ve been pushed so far off the spectrum that you are able to see just how disconnected you’ve become. So, although this has been a challenging time of your life, it’s also something of a blessing as its opening up the doorway to an opportunity for a more balanced and harmonised existence. This feels exciting and liberating; the future is in your hands…
As you continue to go with the flow and open up to becoming more fluid in your life, you are beginning to realise just how out of sync you have become with your true essence. For a long time now you have bent yourself out of shape in order to accommodate the needs, wants, wishes and whims of others and although you are something of a contortionist even you cannot sustain being tied in knots for the long term. October looks set to be a month for you to contemplate the reasons why you feel you have to tie yourself up in knots and why you try so hard to be everything to everyone around you. At the same time, you need to ask yourself why being everything to yourself isn’t as important to you. Whilst your perfectionist tendencies do go some way to explaining why you give so much to others, there is another layer you’ve yet to explore as to why you don’t honour yourself as much as you intuitively know you should.
When you give so much of yourself over a prolonged period of time, the landscape of your life shifts into indistinct shades of grey as the colours fade away; your essence and sense of self ebb away as you become less vibrant and less effervescent. Of course, you know giving so much isn’t sustainable in the long term, but you feel like it’s a path you started so you can’t change. Yet, you are the master of your own destiny and as a fluid soul you know you have the creativity and skill to carve out a new pathway. It’s time now to get back into sync with your mind, body and soul, to listen to your intuition and to straighten up those bends in order to go with your own flow…
October looks set to be a month of both movement and stillness, fast forward and pause. There might be times when you feel like you’re doing both at the same time, but this is purely a reflection of your need to have so many pathways and avenues open together so in some areas you are moving forward but in other areas you may be pausing or even moving backwards. This may leave you feeling like you are stuck on the spot and not moving in any direction, but overall there is still a strong sense of progress. You have reached a significant turning point in your life, a time to open up towards inner wholeness and balance, wholehearted living and enriched well-being.
The concept of loving acceptance is taking a foothold in your consciousness as you start to realise that loving yourself and honouring yourself are the cornerstones to living a more fulfilling and enriching life. ‘Less is more’ becomes a central mantra for you as you start to let go of much of the clutter that has filled your life, your head and your heart for so long. Less isn’t a sign of retreat, failure or giving up, it’s a sign of your willingness to embrace life more and to live in each and every moment. Life doesn’t have to be complicated to be good, sometimes it’s the simpler things that bring true joy and you have reached a point of realisation and acceptance that you are ready for a simpler way of living and being. You want time to breathe, to rest, to be creative and to re-connect to your heart and soul. Let the clutter go with love and open up to savouring the space as you breathe deeply into life and allow life to breathe deeply into you…
October looks set to be a month for continuing consolidation of your experiences, knowledge and wisdom. You have reached a stage of your life where you feel ready to take a reflective look at yourself, your life, your choices and your path in order to gather together everything you have learned and apply it in new ways. You often give yourself a hard time for not doing enough, being enough or achieving enough, and whilst this is often a result of your perfectionist tendencies, your inner dialogue can be quite hard and abrasive at times. It’s time to re-shape your thoughts in order to be kinder and more loving to yourself; pushing yourself to achieve is one thing but denigrating yourself for not being enough is quite something else. There will always be things to do, people to see and places to go as that’s a part of life, and there will always be aspects of yourself and your life that have faults or quirks as imperfection is a fact of life.
If you keep pushing yourself forward without acknowledging where you are now, you risk becoming lost and disillusioned. Remember there is great beauty in imperfection; trying to be perfect carries a huge cost as it can mean you miss out on the here and now. Keeping one eye on the pedestal you’ve placed up so high for yourself takes you away from living consciously in each and every moment. It’s time to open up to loving acceptance, to honour yourself more and to find a new balance in your life. Stop wrestling with yourself so much and find the power in embracing the moment and accepting the beauty of imperfection as this will set you free from chasing the horizon (the pedestal), allowing you to live wholeheartedly in each and every moment…
You have spent a great deal of time thinking about the perceived boundaries of your life. You have had times when you’ve longed to stride beyond them, and you’ve had times when you’ve felt happy to close the curtains and hide away for a while. Yet, even during those times when you’ve hidden away, you’ve always felt acutely aware of these boundaries as they shape and define so much of your existence. Whilst you’ve always had a sense of these boundaries, when was the last time you went to the edges of yourself and explored them? Are the boundaries like brick walls or are they gossamer, ethereal threads? There is a sense that you’ve become so used to the idea of having edges that you’ve accepted the idea that you have boundaries. However, if you pause for a moment, you know that you are without boundaries as your consciousness reaches far and wide.
So, in many ways it’s something of a conundrum as to why you feel you have boundaries even when you intuitively know that you don’t. This isn’t a trick question as it certainly seems to be possible as you’re living it every single day! October looks set to be a time for you to go deeper within in order to re-connect to your heart and soul, as the more centred you feel, the more you will realise that although the concept of boundaries can help give your life shape and form, they are more like ‘guidelines’ to rework as you grow and evolve. It seems you’ve let the ivy grow over the walls as they’ve been in situ for so long, so it’s time now to use your phenomenal creativity and imagination to breathe deeply, push back the boundaries and to expand into a new way of living and being…
As you continue to gaze at that ramshackle, chaotic scribble of clutter, also known as your diary, (if you are organised enough to even have one), you are beginning to wonder exactly how to find some order amongst the chaos and create some much-needed space. Of course, whilst your diary looks chaotic to anyone who may happen to pick it up, to you there is great order in disorder and beauty in those scribbles, but although you can personally navigate through the zig-zagging maelstrom of your diary and your mind, it’s time to ask yourself if you really want to? In essence, although your inner world is deep and mysterious, busy and chaotic, does it really have to be? Does being chaotic all of the time make for a richer life or does it add layers of stress and angst? Whilst you will always be a vibrant, effervescent and spontaneous soul, there is a sense that the chaos became something of a smokescreen; a distraction to keep you occupied but to keep you away from going any deeper.
The chaos enabled you to avoid quiet times and took away the need for you to sit quietly with yourself in order to connect wholeheartedly with your truth. You came to expect discombobulation and fragmentation as the ‘norm’ as they encapsulated your belief that your inner world was a place to avoid. Yet, why? Obviously only you can answer that question, but it seems to be time to stop doubting yourself, to stop feeling like you’re somehow not ‘enough’, to stop deferring to others so much and to start realising that your truth is not only important, but it’s magical, delightful and beautiful as well. Embrace the chaos as a part of you but find true joy and peace in creating quiet and space; it’s time to love yourself and to find peace within the stillness…
