There are many Native American prophecies. However, one of them has been the talk of the town lately as it seems to be coming to fruition. Dr. Lelanie Fuller Anderson, known as the Cherokee Lady, wrote many books on Native American herbal medicine and dream science. She says of the version of the famous prophecy she has published that it was given to her by her grandmother when she was very young.

In this inherited prophecy, Dr. Anderson 144,000 Rainbow Warriors of Light. Her message reads as follows:

Rainbow Warriors

An old lady of the Cree tribe, whose name was "Eyes of Fire," prophesied that one day, because of the greed of the white people, or "Yo-ne-gis," there would come a time when the fish in the streams would die, the birds would fall from the air, the water they will turn black and the trees will be no more. Humanity as we know it will almost cease to exist.

It will be a time when custodians of rumours, stories, cultural rituals, myths and all ancient tribal customs will be needed to heal humanity. They will be the key to humanity's survival, they will be the warriors of paradise.

A day of awakening will come when all nations of all tribes will create a New World of justice, peace, freedom and recognition of the Great Spirit.

The warriors of the rainbow will spread the message and teach all the nations of the earth, or "Elohi". He will teach them how to live the Way of the Great Spirit. They will tell them about how today's world has turned away from the Great Spirit and that is why our Earth has become sick.

The Rainbow Warriors will show people that this Ancient Being - the Great Spirit - is full of love and understanding. And he will teach them how to make the Earth, or Elohi, beautiful again. These Rainbow Warriors will give people the principles or rules they should follow so that their path is right with the world. These policies will be the policies of the Ancient Tribes. The Rainbow Warriors will teach the people the ancient practices of Oneness, Love and Understanding. He will teach them harmony among people, in all four new parts of the Earth.

Like the Ancient Tribes, the warriors will teach the nations how to pray to the Great Spirit with a love that flows like a beautiful mountain stream and flows into the ocean of life. People can again feel joy in solitude and in meetings. They will get rid of petty envy and love all mankind as their brothers regardless of color, race, or religion. They will feel happiness enter their hearts and become internally one with all humanity. Their hearts will be pure and radiate warmth, understanding and respect for all humanity, nature and the Great Spirit. They will again fill their minds, hearts, souls and actions with the purest thoughts. They will seek the beauty of the Master of Life - the Great Spirit. They find strength and beauty in prayer and solitude.

Their children will once again be able to run freely and enjoy the treasures of nature and Mother Earth. Freed from the fear of the poisons and destruction caused by the former "Yo-ne-gi" and his greed. Rivers will be clean again, forests will be rich and beautiful, animals and birds will multiply again. The powers of plants and animals will be respected again and the protection of all things beautiful will become a way of life.

The poor, the sick and the needy will be cared for by their earthly brothers and sisters. These practices will once again become part of their daily lives. The leaders of the people will be chosen in the old way. Not by political party anymore, not by who can talk the loudest, who brags the loudest, not by swearing or mudslinging, but by whose ACTIONS speak the loudest.
Those who have demonstrated love, wisdom and courage will be chosen as leaders or chiefs. Those who have shown that they can work and work for the good of all. They will be selected based on their qualities, not the amount of money they have earned. Thoughtful and devoted ancient chiefs will have a loving understanding of their people and see to it that their young are raised to wisdom. They will show them that miracles can be performed that will cure this world of its ills and restore it to health and beauty.

The tasks of the Rainbow Warriors are many and great. They will have to overcome terrifying mountains of ignorance, encounter prejudice and hatred. They must be dedicated, steadfast in their strength and strong in heart. They will find willing hearts and minds to follow them on this journey to return to Mother Earth, to beauty and abundance.

That day will come, it's not far. A day when humanity will understand that it owes its existence to the warriors of Paradise who have preserved their culture and heritage. To those who kept rituals, stories, legends and myths alive. It is through this knowledge that they have preserved that humanity will once again return to harmony with nature, Mother Earth and itself. It is through this knowledge that we find the key to our survival.

That's the story. And that is my reason for protecting my culture, heritage and knowledge of my ancestors. I know the day "Eyes of Fire" spoke of will come! I want my children and grandchildren to be ready to take on this task. Quest to be one of the Rainbow Warriors.

Beware, similar prophecies also exist from the Hopi, Zuni and others. Whether you believe this prophecy to be true or not, surely we can all agree that the world is sick, forests are indeed disappearing, society is full of hatred, envy, greed, violence, and healing is more than necessary. Our lives as we know them cannot continue as they are. We cannot afford to continue to hurt each other and this world in the terrible way we are hurting ourselves. We have to change that.
