The Spiritual Effect Of Colors On A Person

The Spiritual Effect Of Colors On A Person

We all decide on a daily basis what colors to wear, what bedclothes to choose, or what paint to paint on the walls. Depending on which color we choose, we will be correspondingly affected on a spiritual level as well, not just an aesthetic one.

The entire universe is composed of energy on an immaterial level. It is important for us to distinguish two basic polarities, which is Highly Constructive Energy (Sattva) and Destructive Energy (which can be divided into Raja and Tama components).
Colors are also divided according to resonance into constructive or destructive. Depending on which subtle components prevail in them.

Sattva represents spiritual purity, Raja represents action and passion, Tama represents spiritual ignorance and passivity. For simplicity, colors will be described based on the principle of these three designations and their mutual combinations.

Wearing clothes of sattvic colors helps us in spiritual practice, while colors resonating with the raja-tama principle are harmful to spiritual progress because they drain our energy. Wearing clothes that have a predominance of raja-tama strengthens the destructive vibrations. As a result, we are more likely to attract other destructive energies, based on the principle of similarity.

Here I offer you a clear list of colors and a description of their influence on our spiritual development. If a color is labeled as "beneficial," it means that it helps attract constructive spiritual vibrations and repels destructive vibrations. The color "harmful" refers to the ability to attract destructive vibrations while alienating us from spiritually constructive vibrations.

The influence of colors on the energy and spiritual development of a person:

Notes to the table:
*1: It depends on the specific person if there is more sattvic or, on the contrary, raja principle. The predominant principle will be the color red to stimulate.
*2: Although the spectrum is purple, which also includes magenta, a constructive color, in this case it depends on the shade (the proportion of the dark component).
If you like purple and magenta, choose light shades like lilac , which are useful and at a similar frequency to light blue and pink. The same goes for green. Wear light, pastel shades and avoid very dark colors.

As you can see from the table above, colors like white, yellow and blue help increase a person's spiritual purity. In contrast, the color black has harmful vibrations that not only attract destructive energies but also repel any constructive spiritual energy.

Black color should be avoided if you suffer from a lack of energy and have psychological problems. If you don't want to give up the black color, combine it with light colors that can compensate for its effect. However, you should definitely not wear black underwear.

Why we like certain colors

On a physical level, a person usually likes a certain color because it matches their skin tone, hair and eye color.

On a psychological level, liking or disliking a certain color can change according to the mood of the moment. These mood swings are often based on the current situation, e.g.: People prefer bright colors when they go on a trip. For a funeral, black is worn in some cultures, while in others people dress in white. People in puberty and early adulthood may have a fondness for the color pink.

Or this color means something to them. A given color and style of clothing is most often worn by a favorite singer, or it is currently in fashion.

But there can also be something deeper, for example, if an individual was harmed in a past incarnation by a person wearing green clothing, they will most likely have an aversion to the color green based on these ingrained associations.

However, on a spiritual level, the choice of colors has a much deeper meaning for a particular person. The most relevant factor that determines why a person likes a certain color is that it closely matches their basic nature.

A sattvic person will prefer sattvic colors like white and light blue.

If a person's basic nature is destructive, he prefers dark colors and black.

A person under the influence of destructive energies usually perceives good vibrations from the color black. All four bodies, i.e., physical, mental, intellectual and subtle, can be spiritually disturbed and this can lead to a reversal of his energy polarity where he perceives the dark as good and conversely the good makes him feel bad and tries to avoid it.

If such suffering persists for a long time, one slowly begins to lose one's own identity. The character of his controlling entity comes to the fore, which has a dominant say in the application of his preferences, which are reflected in the behavior of such a person. This means that a person's consciousness is completely controlled by destructive energy. Because destructive energy has a predominantly tama component, a person likes objects with a predominance of tama, which is for example black clothes.

The trend of wearing black formal wear or wearing black in everyday work life was largely fueled by destructive energies that insidiously and subtly influenced (and still influence) people's minds. Wearing black can also adversely affect people in the immediate vicinity.

Recommendations for your choice of colors

A spiritual seeker may often prefer the color blue, which energetically supports him on this journey.

The color of clothing should be sattvic i.e. white, yellow, blue and light shades. Although this may seem like a small thing, it will pay off over time as the constructive colors gradually and gently suppress the destructive energy components.

If someone likes to wear the color black, even after reading this article, they may be looking for reasons to continue wearing it. It is a personal choice of each person, now at least you can make it consciously. Wearing black does not bring benefits in spiritual development and can have an adverse effect on a person's energy and psychological well-being.

The color of the clothes should not be flashy either. Flashy colors have a greater dominance of the tama component, they can psychologically irritate and provoke a person, after all, even red can do that.

Clothing in a uniform light color, without a prominent print or distracting pattern, is more harmonious and therefore considered more sattvic from a spiritual point of view than clothing that is printed and richly painted.

The colors of your clothing should complement each other if different colored tops and bottoms are to be worn. For example, a combination of white + light blue, or pale blue + dark blue.

There should not be too much contrast between the two colors of clothing. When two contrasting shades of color are put together, it creates disharmonious vibrations. Therefore, it is not recommended to wear, for example, a tuxedo, a combination of black and white.
