Think we’ve been on information overload? Strap in tight, because there’s more to come.
Short attention span theater is streaming everywhere right now, with no off or mute buttons, with no volume controls, and with the noise loud enough to crowd out your own thoughts. What’s yours? What’s spin? What’s agitprop? What’s outright false? The clamor grows louder and louder, and more and more credulity-defying, until, suddenly, situations pop, chaos stops and – what’s that? Could it be? — truths emerge.
Such is the power of this year’s Gemini Full Moon.
A moon in this sign is generally paradoxical. Emotions – a feature of any full moon — are not part and parcel of this airy, breezy sign, but they will be cresting and releasing and how, along with the dramas and developments that come with this type of event.
This one is pumping up the dichotomy of sound bytes vs. cohesive philosophies. The Moon’s current sign of Gemini, ruled by Mercury, is curious and nimble, darting through ideas with an ease that gets it belittled as distractable and superficial. It’s prone to nibbling on this and that and then running off to the next attraction.
The Sun’s current sign of Sagittarius, ruled by Jupiter, deals in broad strokes, in big pictures, in systems of thoughts and belief – which can mushroom into one viewpoint crowding out anyone else’s. Its counterpart to Gemini’s lightheartedness is good humor, laughter and optimism, and it shares the ability to run.
Both signs bring a flexibility to our experience of this Full Moon, which is amplifying and accelerating quick-changing thoughts, news and events.
The signs’ traits are intermingling uncommonly now, because the Sun’s and Moon’s rulers are in mutual reception: Mercury is in Jupiter’s sign, and Jupiter is in Mercury’s sign. Everything that one planet does or experiences pulls in everything that the other does or experiences.
Mutual reception results in the planets working together, despite their opposition by sign (which also explains each end soaring too such mindboggling extremes.) Likewise, the Sun and the Moon are also collaborating, despite their opposition. Mind and emotion may operate in different modes and in different spheres, but they are somehow working toward a mutual end.
Which, in this line up, is to dispel illusion and force out truth. And even compassion and understanding.
The Full Moon is bearing down on Neptune in Pisces, the focal point of a T-square from the Moon and the Sun. Neptune rules the dreamworld, illusions, mists that cloud and unhinge us from earthly reality. Barely a week out of his five-month retrograde, Neptune has already been churning the seas of consciousness, with his change in direction causing much that has been veiled –mysteries, misperceptions, deceit, acts of inspired guidance — to surface.
That process is getting a power-up. The pressure of the T-square is now forcing out more.
Clouds are parting. Fog is breaking. Truths are emerging from them, and from the chaos.
As you observe and evaluate (and maybe marvel at) what’s surfacing, trust your guidance. Gemini and Sagittarius may be mind-driven signs, but Neptune’s role here can beam into your own knowing and faith.
Some of what emerges will change your point of view, as something you believed to be one way now strikes you as another. Some of it will show up magical thinking, your own as well as that of other people. Some of it will show developments that have been going on outside the normal, open channels of conversation and the media.
Some of it could float in. A T-square to Neptune can lead to gentle puffs of information. Sudden lightning strikes are also possible, though. The influence that lobs them, Uranus, is participating in ways that aren’t nicely flowing. The awakening quick-change artist is nudging us to uncomfortable realizations, because of the nagging aspect of a semisextile to both the Moon and Neptune. It’s also requiring adjustments in perspectives through an inconjunct to the Sun.
