Signs of spring were beginning to show. As snowy Owl and Shooting Star climbed the path to the Star Temple they could see the Plant People beginning to sprout with splashes of colour here and there where flowers had begun to bloom. It had been a long winter and the sisters felt their spirits lighten as they made their way to the Sacred Circle.

Earlier in the day there had been a spring thunderstorm sending cleansing rain to the Earth Mother. As Grandfather Sun shone through the rain a magnificent rainbow appeared in the east against the dark clouds. The young women knew this was an important sign for the Lunation they were doing ceremony for was the first New Moon of the East Direction on the Medicine Wheel. The East was the place of awakening, spiritual illumination, clear vision and new beginnings. They felt excitement stir within in anticipation of Sister Moon’s message.

As they settled in the center of the Circle darkness had fallen and all was quiet. Sister Moon spoke. “You are right about the significance of the rainbow. All the colours that are illuminated in that sacred arc are found within everything Great Mystery has created. This is particularly important for the two leggeds for if they express the positive qualities of each colour they will find their spiritual selves.”

Sister Moon continued “Red is for strength and courage. Orange is creative passion and relationship. Yellow is for inner power and intuitive guidance. Green is for healing and the compassionate heart. Light blue is for communication and truth. Indigo blue is the ability to see into the Mysteries and the unknown. Finally purple is the power of the Violet Flame of Transformation.  Each two legged will work with these powers separately until they encounter the Crack in the Universe. They then have the opportunity to integrate all the gifts of the rainbow and step into the Golden Light of Illumination which is their Soul Essence. Then peace will be created in the far away time.”

Snowy Owl and Shooting Star thanked Sister Moon for her message. As they began the ceremony for the Moon of New Beginnings they each connected within to discover what colour their spirit was.

So what colour is your spirit at this timing? I always find these stories so interesting. Many people have expressed feeling a sense of bleakness in the last few weeks. This Aries New Moon is the opportunity to awaken your spirit and fill your life with inspiration. I am going to consciously work with all the colours of the rainbow. On the day I left the corporate world over 20 years ago and began my spiritual journey in a conscious way I was gifted with a magnificent rainbow in the East Direction.  Great Mystery was blessing me. In the last few months I have disconnected from Source. This New Moon is significant for me. It is time to reconnect.

We have an impressive line up of planets in Aries at this New Moon altogether six if you count Eris the goddess of strife, chaos and change. Aries is about inspired new beginnings but can also be impulsive with a “leap before you look” attitude so be clear about the seeds you are planting and where you want to go. The traditional ruler for this Aries New Moon is Mars at 22 degrees Aries. Eris is also at 22 degrees conjunct Mars and pushing buttons. There could be some fireworks in the world with this paring. On a positive note it can also mean inspired action to create change.

Venus is also an important player. Whenever we have a New Moon (Sun and Moon in the same sign) the Earth is always opposite the Sun, in this case Libra. Venus is the ruler of Libra and she is at 23 degrees Aries asking us all to be connected to our Divine Power in a loving and balanced way. Mars and Venus entered their new relationship cycle in Aries on Apr 07 so this New Moon is supporting you to nourish the new seeds regarding relationship that have been planted.

Mercury at 24 degrees Pisces is the Soul Centered ruler for this Aries New Moon. He is giving us all the opportunity to experience the Golden Light of Illumination. Neptune in Pisces (illusion or enlightenment) is the traditional ruler for this placement of Mercury but the Soul Centered ruler of Pisces is Pluto in Capricorn (transformation and rebirth for self and society). We can also add Uranus in Aries (awakening and personal freedom) to the mix. Uranus is the Soul Centered ruler of Earth in Libra. These two transpersonal planets will enter their square aspect again in May and the roller coaster ride will become more intense. So work with the power of this Aries New Moon and plant the seeds of inspiration that will allow you to receive the gifts of Uranus (awakening) and Pluto (transformation). The theme when they re-enter the square aspect is make a decision, take action and breakthrough or break free.  

This is the Budding Trees New Moon and it does feel like spring has finally arrived here in the North Country, at least today. The Animal Totem for this Lunation is Red Tailed Hawk, spiritual messenger. Hawk teaches us to patiently wait for the right moment to act decisively. This Winged One also teaches us to pay attention to the signs and messages Great Mystery sends our way. The Clan Mother for this Lunation is Looks Far Woman. She is the guardian of the Crack in The Universe and the Golden Door of Illumination. She carries the medicine of Prophecy and the ability to see into other dimensions. Aries is active on the Tarot Constellation of the Emperor; the principle of Life Force and Realization of Power. Aries symbolizes breaking free from paternal power and embracing our I Am self. The other energies on this Tarot Constellation are Scorpio, transformation and rebirth, and Uranus breaking away from the old that no longer serves. We have some very unstable situations in the world right now but hopefully this Aries New Moon will help to resolve the issues.

Aries is active on the 7^th Ray of Ceremonial Order and White Magic. It is the Ray of Invocation and Prayer, with Archangels Zadkiel and Amethyst, holders of the Violet Flame of Transmutation as our guides. Aries is also a 1^st Ray sign, Divine Will and Power. The message is everything is unfolding according to Divine Plan. Archangels Michael, Divine Protection, and Faith, trust in self, are our guides.

Aries New Moon- Apr 10- 5.36am EDT- Moon in Aries conjunct Mars in Aries- 9.02am EDT- conjunct Venus in Aries- 12.25pm EDT- This is the Budding Trees New Moon with Red Tailed Hawk, spiritual messenger, as our guide. This is the time to plant seeds of intention for what you want to create in your life. The meeting of the Moon and Mars is about inspired action and the meeting of the Moon and Venus is to be inspired by Divine Love. What a wonderful New Moon. Moon enters Taurus- 11.22pm EDT- The seeds you planted today have already begun to sprout. Nurture them with Love.

Moon in Taurus sextile Neptune in Pisces- Apr 11- 8.06am EDT- This is a wonderful aspect to strengthen your spiritual values and connect to the teachers and guides who are working with you. Moon in Taurus opposite Saturn in Scorpio- 5.36pm EDT- trine Pluto in Capricorn- 9.48pm EDT- sextile Chiron in Pisces-10.34pm EDT- Whatever issues come up with  the Moon/Saturn opposition (and they could be financial relating to joint resources or related to power struggles in relationship) they can be transformed and resolved through the contacts with Pluto and Chiron. Be willing to change your perspective. Stubbornness is a Taurus personality trait but that will only block resolution. Remember this Aries Moon cycle is about inspired new beginnings.

Pluto in Capricorn turns retrograde- Apr 12- 3.34pm EDT to Sept 20- 11.29am EDT- Whenever a planet turns retrograde we have the opportunity to review its theme. Pluto in Capricorn is about letting go of what no longer serves us and embracing transformation. Whatever you have been wanting to release for the past few months but have not been able to will be emphasised. Capricorn is a symbol for society so it will be interesting to see how Pluto’s retrograde journey will influence the world. Just remember Pluto does not accept resistance so be willing to do the personal work. Transformation is about making space for the new to come in. Saturn in Scorpio inconjunct Uranus in Aries- 11.29pm EDT- This aspect is to help you identify where you are struck and breakfree. Saturn is square the asteroid Juno in Aquarius (relationships and friendships) so the focus will be finding new ways of being in relationship. The good news is Uranus is sextile (ease and flow) Juno giving you the support to breakthrough to the new.

Moon in Taurus sextile Mercury in Pisces- Apr 13- 8.30am EDT- This aspect continues to supports the spiritual connecting that was activated on Apr 11. Watch for messages from your teachers and guides to help you on the path to your new beginnings. Moon enters Gemini- 10.13am EDT- square Neptune in Pisces- 7.25pm EDT- The Moon in Gemini asks you to be adaptable and flexible. The square to Neptune is just to remind you to listen to your intuition. Gemini is one of the dualistic signs and emphasises logic over intuitive guidance. Make choices that are guided by your inner knowing. Mercury enters Aries- 10.37pm EDT to May 01- 11.37am EDT- Mercury is in his Soul Centered placement when he visits Aries. For the next two and a half weeks it is full steam ahead regarding your inspired new beginnings. This is a very creative placement so embrace the gifts and let your Soul’s Wisdom be your guide. Do not be surprised if Red Tailed Hawk shows up. He is the guide for Mercury in Aries and has messages from Great Mystery that support your new beginnings. 

Moon in Gemini inconjunct Saturn in Scorpio- Apr 14- 4.48am EDT- sextile Uranus in Aries- 5.07am EDT- These aspects are to help you identify what limiting beliefs are holding you back and break free from them. We are headed into the expansion phase shortly.

Gemini Crescent Moon- Apr 14- 5.29am EDT to Apr 18- 8.32am EDT- This is the expansion, growth, and opportunity phase. The seeds planted at the Aries New Moon are beginning to sprout. Nurture them with care and tenderness. Moon in Gemini inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn- 9.30am EDT- square Chiron in Pisces- 10.33am EDT- These aspects will bring up those limiting beliefs you have not released yet. The square to Chiron will show you how to let go. Moon in Gemini conjunct Jupiter in Gemini- 2.57pm EDT- This is a good time to share your ideas with others especially through writings. If in fact you are wanting to publish something this is a great day to submit your work. Sharing with friends is also being supported with this conjunction.

Venus enters Taurus- Apr 15- 3.25am to May 09- 11.03am EDT- When Venus is in Taurus she is in one of her home signs (the other one is Libra). The focus now is on what you really value, your inner talents, your personal assets, and how you love yourself. During her journey through Taurus it is an excellent time to look at what empowers you but also what keeps you stuck in the old. Venus is still in the Underworld so cleaning out your closets, physically and emotionally, is the theme. If you do not LOVE it, whatever it is, let it go. We are in the Moon cycle of inspired new beginnings until May 09. The new cannot manifest if you do not create space for it.    

Moon in Gemini sextile Sun in Aries- Apr 15- 2.36pm EDT- sextile Mars in Aries- 3.41pm EDT- These are aspects of action. Whatever new beginnings you are nurturing now is a good time to grow and expand on them. Moon enters Cancer- 10.49pm EDT- This is Sister Moon’s home sign. Emotional transformation is the theme. Deep feelings can arise with this influence and give you the opportunity to release old patterns. Cancer is also the sign of spiritual destiny. If intense feelings do come up channel them into manifesting your spiritual purpose.

Moon in Cancer sextile Venus in Taurus- Apr 16- 1.05am EDT- square Mercury in Aries- 5.48am EDT- trine Neptune in Pisces- 8.18am EDT- trine Saturn in Scorpio- 5.14pm EDT- square Uranus in Aries- 6.12pm EDT- opposite Pluto in Capricorn- 10.18pm EDT- trine Chiron in Pisces- 11.37pm EDT- This is an up and down day. It is similar to the energies we experienced for much of March. Best thing to do is focus on nurturing your spirit today. Moon trine Chiron will support you to do that and also heal any emotional issues that arise. This influence is with you until tomorrow evening.

Sun in Aries conjunct Mars in Aries- Apr 17- 8.20pm EDT- This could be very favorable for moving forward on your new beginnings or very combustible if your emotions are in charge. Both the Sun and Mars in Aries are very strong. Make sure you “look before you leap” with this influence.

Moon in Cancer square Mars in Aries- Apr 18- 8.16am EDT- Whatever was going on with the Sun/Mars conjunction is emphasised today. Do not let your emotions control you. Embrace the belief that you can change how you feel because you can. Cancer First Quarter Moon- 8.32am EDT to Apr 22- 5.05am EDT- This is the make a decision, take action, and breakthrough or break free phase. We are under this influence for the next four days. Later this morning when the moon enters Leo the question to ask is am I making decisions guided by the compassionate heart or the ego? 

Moon enters Leo- Apr 18- 11.13am EDT- square Venus in Taurus- 8.16pm EDT- inconjunct Neptune in Pisces- 8.34pm EDT- If you are coming from ego these aspects will be very challenging because you have cut yourself off from your wise heart. Leo is a Fixed sign and can be stubbornly attached to ego or “the pain body” as Eckhart Tolle calls it. Let it go. Venus in Taurus sextile Neptune in Pisces- 11.15pm EDT- This is the opportunity to step out of the ego will and connect with your Soul’s guidance. When you are at-one-within you find peace.

Moon in Leo trine Mercury in Aries- Apr 19- 2.54 am EDT- square Saturn in Scorpio- 4.44am EDT- trine Uranus in Aries- 6.18am EDT- inconjunct Pluto in Capricorn- 9.58am EDT- inconjunct Chiron in Pisces- 11.29am EDT- Mercury in Aries inconjunct Saturn in Scorpio- 4.16pm EDT- Moon in Leo sextile Jupiter in Gemini- 5.06pm EDT- Ego verses the compassionate heart issues continue today. All the inconjunct aspects make it very difficult to gain clarity. I would advise putting off important decisions until the Moon sextile Jupiter. Otherwise you may find you will have to undo what you have chosen. An inconjunct aspect requires adjustments to be made.     

Sun enters Taurus- Apr 19- 6.03pm EDT to May 20- 5.09pm EDT- We now enter The Frogs Return and Growing Time. While the Sun visits Taurus he is under the influence of Venus. All the issues that we mentioned on April 15 are emphasised. Clearing out the closet is more important than ever. The Animal Totem who guides us for this Sun cycle is Beaver, builder of the new. Taurus gives you a sense of groundedness and empowerment if you are in your spiritual consciousness.

Mercury in Aries conjunct Uranus in Aries- Apr 20- 5.20am EDT- Mars enters Taurus- 7.48am EDT- Moon enters Virgo- 9.08pm EDT- trine Mars in Taurus- 9.58pm EDT- trine Sun in Taurus- 11.22pm EDT- This day starts out with a bang but we have Mars and the Moon shifting signs so it may be difficult to stay focused. Listen to your intuitive knowing and the Moon will support you to find an inner calm. Virgo is the mind, body, spirit connection. Focus on that.

Moon in Virgo opposite Neptune in Pisces- Apr 21- 6.03am EDT- Mercury in Aries square Pluto in Capricorn- 7.46am EDT- Moon in Virgo trine Venus in Taurus- 11.42am EDT- sextile Saturn in Scorpio- 1.17pm EDT- inconjunct Uranus in Aries- 3.19pm EDT- trine Pluto in Capricorn- 6.30pm EDT- inconjunct Mercury in Aries- 8.04pm EDT- opposite Chiron in Pisces- 8.09pm EDT- This may be a good day to stay home in bed and pull the covers over your head. Virgo is detail oriented but also a little compulsive obsessive about doing things the right way. The influences today say there is no right way. Just relax and you will get through whatever challenges come up.

Moon in Virgo square Jupiter in Gemini- Apr 22- 2.02am EDT- Venus in Taurus opposite Saturn in Scorpio- 3.43am EDT- This just continues yesterday’s confusion. But help is coming.

Virgo Gibbous Moon- Apr 22- 5.05am EDT to Apr 25- 3.58pm EDT- This is the analyse, adjust, evaluate, and redefine phase. Ask yourself if the seeds you planted at the Aries New Moon are continuing to grow. It may be time with this phase to weed out what is not working so you make space for what wants to grow. We are still in the cycle of new beginnings but also clearing what no longer is valid.

Moon enters Libra- Apr 23- 3.25am EDT- inconjunct Mars in Taurus- .18am EDT- inconjunct Sun in Taurus- 9.36am EDT- inconjunct Neptune in Pisces- 11.50am EDT- opposite Uranus in Aries- 8.37pm EDT- inconjunct Venus in Taurus- 10.11pm EDT- square Pluto in Capricorn- 11.23pm EDT- This may not be a good day for relationship connections. When the Moon visits Libra the focus is on partnership, both personal and business. The inconjunct aspects will make it difficult to see with clarity. It is best to focus on the relationship to self and your spiritual vision. Mercury in Aries sextile Jupiter in Gemini- 11.25pm EDT- This is a nice gift after the earlier challenges. Use this influence to strengthen your new beginnings.

The Eclipse this afternoon asks us to complete the lessons we have been working on since Nov of 2012. Venus in Taurus sextile Chiron in Pisces- 8.42am EDT- Moon in Scorpio opposite Mars in Taurus- 12.52pm EDT- trine Neptune in Pisces- 2.31pm EDT- These aspects are all supporting the healing and releasing process. If you have to let someone or something go do it with LOVE.

Scorpio/Taurus Full Moon Eclipse- Apr 25- 3.58pm EDT- Moon in Scorpio conjunct Saturn in Scorpio-8.17pm EDT- inconjunct Uranus in Aries- 11.00pm EDT- Full Moon’s are completion energies. When it is a Lunar Eclipse the completion aspect is doubled. This is the first Eclipse in a series of three. The Saros Family they belong to have this theme. “A release of tension. A situation which has been lingering will suddenly clear. In the clearing of the problem there is also a sense of grief or loss which is not so much personal as belonging to a group or collective.” Bernadette Brady in Predictive Astrology. We will just have to wait and see what happens. This Full Moon carries Snake Medicine and Beaver Medicine. It is about shedding the old and building the new.
