Happy, Healthy, Dead
- Details
If there were in the world today any large number of people who desired their own happiness more than they desired the unhappiness of others, we could have paradise in a few years. ~ Bertrand Russell
Our title today is taken from a conversation with Esther Hicks and Abraham. They were saying we can live long, healthy lives, and then die happily. Hence, “happy, healthy, dead.” I love that!
As those of you who follow Abraham know, they often say death is not serious. In fact they substitute the humorous term “croaking” for “death.”
My spirit guides have often said the same thing — it’s entirely possible for us to live a happy, healthy life for as long as we want. And then to die when we choose, and in a state of good health. Many folks don’t believe that’s possible.
But I’ve seen it happen. It happened with my mother.
She certainly had her share of challenges during her long life — more than most of us will ever have to face. But she was almost always happy, reaching out to help others, and finding peace on her spiritual path. She lived a good life and died a good death.
Here are some thoughts from Spirit.
Spirit
Only you can choose the timing and manner of your death. No one else has that power over you. You can die peacefully in your bed, in a state of perfect health. You all have the ability to do that.
Life and death are normal experiences. They are the ebb and flow of your eternal existence. Take joy in knowing you live forever, whether in human or spirit form. Life or death — it makes no difference which you choose or how you choose to go about it. It’s all good. And you cannot ever get it wrong.
Of course, there really is no death. What you call “death” is merely an illusion you created.
When you have truly integrated those ideas into your thinking, your life, and your being, you will be totally free. You will know unshakeable happiness. You can do it in this lifetime.
If you know someone who could benefit from this post, please forward it to them with a personal note.

Here’s Christiane Northrup, M.D., talking about happy people in their 90s and 100s.
In the early 1980s John took a spiritual development course, and was introduced to his first spirit guide, Lydia. After Lydia arrived, three other guides also came to him: Archangel Michael, Tamarra, and Chief Joseph. Today these are John’s four main guides.
Besides his four main ones, John has various other guides. The entire group is really a multidimensional collective consciousness. John refers to the entire group simply as “Spirit.”
