The True Spirit of Christmas Is Love

The True Spirit of Christmas Is Love

This week we’re featuring an article by my dear friend and brother, Ted Murray. Ted’s an accomplished writer and spiritual teacher. He’s also a great tennis coach.

In Ted’s message, he asks a timely question: “What does the Christmas spirit mean to you?”

Ted Murray

Of course, not everyone celebrates Christmas, as it may not be a part of your culture or upbringing. However, the essence of Christmas as a way of life is universal, and it would be wonderful if it wasn’t limited to one season of the year or to one particular religion.

The true essence of Christmas spirit is that of generosity and joy in giving. It’s deeply thinking about the people you love and giving them the ideal gift that will make them happy and enhance their life. It doesn’t have to be a material item, as sharing your love through an experience, a poem, a card or any way that expresses how much they mean to you can be more meaningful than any object.

This spirit also extends to people you don’t even know. Giving to food banks or providing gifts for underprivileged children is a way of showing compassion for those seemingly less fortunate than you.

When you feel the joy of giving while expressing your total gratitude to God for all the blessings you receive, you are experiencing the spirit of Christmas, no matter what you call it.

Isn’t that what life is about? Expressing your unconditional love to as many people and in as many ways as possible, while granting yourself the gift of the joy of giving, is a wonderful way to live at any time of the year.

Love and Light,
Ted

HThis is a beautiful short film about love and Christmas. You might want to have a box of tissues handy.

In the early 1980s, John took a spiritual development course and was introduced to his first spirit guide, Lydia. After Lydia arrived, three other guides also came to him: Archangel Michael, Tamarra, and Chief Joseph. Today these are John’s four main guides. Besides his four main ones, John has various other guides. The entire group is really a multidimensional collective consciousness. John refers to the entire group simply as “Spirit.” Source
