The Law of Attraction Is a LAW (Like it or Not!)

loa-is-law

At this point in time, many people are learning about the Law of Attraction. Yet, there is a common distinction I’ve noticed many are missing: The Law of Attraction is a LAW.

Now, if you believe that the LOA isn’t a real phenomenon, then the rest of what I have to say will likely annoy or irritate you. That’s ok! I’m writing this for those who want to understand the Law of Attraction better. Those who don’t accept the Law of Attraction are free to read on, just keep my disclaimer in mind.

There are lots of people out there who want to learn how to use the Law of Attraction to create specific things in their lives. There are people who want to use the LOA to attract cars, money, relationships, jobs, etc. However, some of these people fail to realize that they already are attracting everything (literally everything!) in their realities right now through their focus.

You don’t have to learn how to use the Law of Attraction, because you are using it all the time whether you realize it or not.

There is no “off switch”

See, the Law of Attraction isn’t some mechanism you can turn off and on. It isn’t something that works some of the time, or even most of the time. The LOA is something that works all of the time. For everything. The Law of Attraction is a law.

For some people, this idea is challenging to grasp. After all, it’s hard to think about the idea that we attract everything in our experience. What about trauma, annoyance and sadness? It’s hard to take on the responsibility of “everything,” particularly if this is a relatively new idea.

Blame instead of responsibility

Many of us, myself included, have become accustomed to blaming outside of ourselves when reality is less than what we want it to be. Pointing the finger at my government, the “toxic people” in my life or even my husband can feel a lot better sometimes. I don’t want to feel bad about creating unwanted things, after all!

However, our capability to harness the true power of the LOA comes when we acknowledge our place in all of it. Our beliefs, expectation and focus are at the root of all things we experience, for better or for worse. We attract the big and the little, the good and the bad, the wanted and the unwanted.

So if I live in a world where murder exists, well, that’s just something I’ve come to expect to see. If I live in a world where people are being rude to me, I’m a match to that rudeness. Whatever is going on around me, ultimately resonates with my beliefs and expectations. My world is just a reflection of what I have going on inside of me.

Being responsible doesn’t mean you’re screwing up

Now, this isn’t to say we should feel bad that we have created realities that aren’t perfect. After all, who would really want to live in a perfect world anyway?

An imperfect world gives us a platform to continue to create. An imperfect worlds gives us an opportunity to experience more excitement and expansion.

I don’t know about you, but I think I’d be pretty bored just sitting up on a cloud all day staring out at perfection. There’d be nothing for me to do!

I don’t blame myself for not having the perfect reality. I’m glad my reality’s not perfect, because I get to make improvements to it every day. If my life were perfect, I’m not sure what the point of living it would be.

Yeah, but what about all of the suffering??

I think it’s also important to mention that we don’t have to feel bad about the people who struggle in our reality either.

I am the creator of my reality, but anyone else I encounter is equally the creator of his or hers. I may align with suffering people, but this doesn’t mean I am some asshole running amok through everyone else’s reality destroying lives and creating irrevocable chaos.

True, my expectations, beliefs and focus may have aligned me with someone who appears to be suffering. However, the suffering person I align with is the possessor of the same exact power I have: the power to create his or her own reality.

Anyone has the power to transcend his or her circumstances through a shift in belief. Everyone you meet is a powerful creator who is already transcending his or her circumstances all the time.

So I may meet you in a state of suffering, but you and I both have the power to meet somewhere else where we are in peace. We both carry that power, not just me.

Just because you have a cold today doesn’t mean you’ll have a cold forever. Just because you are going bankrupt right now doesn’t mean you will be poor in 5 years. We can align with the “new and improved you,” and often, we do.

I am not creating in your experience, I am simply aligning to your experience where I am a match. If I don’t like where I am matching you, all I need to do is switch up my focus to become a match to something I prefer better.

Rejecting universal laws doesn’t help us

Rejecting the LOA as a law may feel more comfortable at times, but it really doesn’t help us. In the end, when we reject the LOA all we do is disadvantage ourselves.

I don’t know about you, but I don’t get mad at gravity and reject it for causing things to drop when I let go of them. Gravity is a law on this planet, and I know that if I drop something it will fall. I accept this law and work with it as much as I can. I know if I don’t accept gravity, there will be a lot more spilled milk on my floor.

The Law of Attraction is the same way. If I focus on something through my belief or expectation, it comes to be, whether I like it or not. There are no exceptions, but there’s no use in crying over spilled milk either. Sometimes I find that gravity works against me when I’m not mindful of it. The same is true for the Law of Attraction.

Just keep in mind, the Law of Attraction is a law. It isn’t something that can be turned off, and it isn’t something that applies only to the things you want to receive in life. It governs your entire reality, for better or worse.

You can ignore it, or deny it, and that is your right if that’s how you want to roll through your experience. I’m not here to judge you if you prefer not to accept it. I’m just here to say that if you really want to harness the power of the LOA, it helps to acknowledge its universal application without exclusion. There’s a lot less spilled milk that way!
