Want to feel your feet on the ground? Want to feel the ground stay still? Want some calm and comfort?

This month’s Taurus New Moon offers all those possibilities, as well as the potential to nurture their flourishing. Maybe not in the way that you would have liked before, but probably in ways that enhance existence as it is now.

A new moon is especially fertile in the sign of Taurus. Its rich earth is a natural base for growth that nourishes body and soul – physical and metaphoric lush, bountiful gardens teeming with fragrant, beautiful flowers and nutrient-rich produce.

Taurus is steady, reliable, slow-moving (if at all), focused on the here and now, the tangible and the sensory. It prefers order and predictability. It’s concerned with money, and nature, and the creation of beauty.

Its turf has been shaken up a lot in recent years, with radical change agent Uranus plowing through Taurus since 2018. The shakeups have been especially dramatic of late. Even though he’s not in range of the Moon, it’s almost as if he’s enjoying a swan song in his last New Moon for decades in the sign. The cosmic disrupter has a few months left until he leaves Taurus for an initial foray into Gemini in July. (He’ll leave Taurus completely next April.)

Uranus may not be bearing down on the Moon, but change is nonetheless a factor – not abrupt, destabilizing change, but forced, powerful and inevitable, on the order of evolutionary. The ground is being worked over, but the effect is akin to tilling the soil, to make it more hospitable for new, and perhaps different, seeds.

The Moon is widely in the middle of a t-square from Mars and Pluto. Mars brings sheer will; Pluto delivers a force beyond conscious control. Huge factors are at play, some outside our grasp, some outside our vision, some deep within our beings, some from the hand of fate or higher powers.

They’re converging on the Taurus moon, forcing radical, unconventional restarts, next phases and new seeds. Focus and simplicity are part of the picture.

What is most important to you now? We’re all coming off Venus’ conjunctions with Saturn (April 7 and 24), which reminded us of what we value (in some cases, by limitation or deprivation). That knowledge plays into the Moon.

The Moon is providing solid ground for responding to turmoil and upheaval in the outer world. What do you want to nurture in your physical existence?

Perhaps you are restructuring finances. Perhaps you are looking into new food sources. (Raise your hand if you’re planting a garden, or stocking your pantry, or cooking at home more.)

Unclear about specifics? Set intentions for physical well-being and growth.

Factor in some enjoyment, too. Taurus’ ruler Venus does love indulgence and values experiences of the senses. Allow some for yourself as you set your intentions. Even if they’re simple. All the better, actually if they are. You deserve.
