The period right before the New Moon is called “an Old Moon” (surprise!)

While no one really uses that term any more, I learned it was a time to lay things to rest, to wait to begin something until the New Moon, and generally is a time of “low energy.” At this old Moon period, we actually have some great aspects and should be able to get a lot done!

Today and tomorrow, we have the very favorable Mars trine Jupiter and sextile Saturn, so whatever is done should be sound, stable, and expansive in a practical way. Add the Sun trine Uranus and sextile Neptune, and we have a clear light of inventiveness coupled with an ability to “read the room” on a collective level.

Of note is that there are literally NO “afflictions” between the planets right now. Mercury has passed out of orb to its partile square with Neptune (though that square actually released a lot of positive energy via Neptune’s favorable aspects with other planets.) We have no squares (other than from the Moon) for the next few weeks except Venus squaring Neptune, which should help us bring our future-oriented desires into clear vision.

In the near future, Mercury will trine Jupiter, sextile Saturn, and quintile Neptune; Venus will make a quintile and sextile to Saturn and trine to Jupiter; Mars will quintile Neptune, tredecile Jupiter, and trine Uranus; and Jupiter will be in sextile and quintile to Saturn. Though all the planets except the Moon make waning aspects, they’re all less than a square and so are closing the favorable part of their old cycles.

All in all, a very favorable time! The only fly in the ointment is Venus quincunx Uranus beginning Thursday, so expect adjustments and enjoy yourselves!
