Aries Full Moon: Is Your Self-Determination on Track?

How’s your self-determination going? This month's potent Aries Full Moon reveals how well we’ve integrated the lessons of autonomy—and whether we're trying too hard. The cosmos calls for bold, heart-driven action, powered by intuition and a mission to clean up old messes.

We’re all still trying out our autonomy muscles from March’s Aries solar eclipse. This month’s Full Moon in that sign shows how well we’re doing – or not.

An Aries Full Moon highlights the tricky balancing act of the individual and relationships. That balance skewed dramatically toward the individual during the Aries/Libra eclipses of the past two years.

Now we see whether that balance has become organic. Multiple influences on this Moon indicate that it is not yet organic, in some – actually, in many – instances. Are you trying too hard? Are you forcing things? The skies more than hint that some people are.

Tempers could be high. Wounds are being activated. People are fed up with being stifled or held back. There’s a widespread willingness to push back against bullies and – despite Aries’ individual focus — to stand up for children, for women, for home and family. And maybe, just maybe, that’s the approach that leads us to the future.

The ruler of Aries, Mars, is in a wide inconjunct to the Moon, signaling a need to adjust tactics and to translate research and discoveries into bold, emotionally driven developments. It could also cause explosions of frustration and letting off steam.

These impulses propel us through the sea of humanity and into the next big wave. It’s taking us away from where we’ve been, ready or not, like it or not. Mars is trine the North Node in Pisces, which is bobbing on the ocean like a buoy with a sign proclaiming “This way to the future.”

The Power of Intuition

Logic is in extremely short supply. Hunches, on the other hand, are in abundance. Everyone’s reverberating with them. Telepathy is high. Just plain knowing is off the charts. What’s unspoken is more powerful than what is said.

Trust this. Use this. Mercury has just dipped into Scorpio and is receiving incentive galore to dive deeper and deeper. That comes from its being the focus of adjustment aspects from both Neptune in Aries and Uranus in Gemini.

The combo is yet another finger of God/fate/destiny, an aspect that has recurred again and again and again in recent weeks (and will pop up more this month). It’s a cosmic “And I really mean it,” emphasizing in this instance the power of perceptions and knowing that bypass the logical mind. Uranus gives the ability to pull information out of seemingly nowhere, the more startling, the better; while Pluto pushes for revelations and realignments of power.

Your Mission Under This Moon

Although Aries can be a fighter moon, we’re not fighting for its own sake. Cleaning up what we perceive as messes is a common theme, with Venus in fix-it Virgo sextile Jupiter in Cancer. The pair is working on Chiron, with Venus in adjustment aspect to the wounded healer and Jupiter squaring him. Notice where you are feeling long-standing issues being inflamed, and what you are feeling compelled to address.

It may help you to navigate this Moon by treating it as a mission. You’re getting intel in disappearing ink or in code – however you want to imagine it, it’s not in a tangible form that others can crack. You’re being shown targets, which could be situations or larger issues. And you’re being fired up to do what your heart wants you to do, boldly, brazenly, without much forethought.

And however this plays out – however you choose to express this feisty Moon – your individual pursuit may turn out to have impact on many, many others. And likely to their benefit.
